1-800-828-0228 doesn't work anymore??

The vast majority of Americans have unlimited long distance plans and long distance on their cell phones. The days of toll free calling are over. I dont blame Disney for this a bit. It makes sense to me.

May be a bit of a broad overgeneralization.....I don't think we're unique, but as cell phone users for more years than I can remember, we have chosen a cell phone plan that limits our long distance since we rarely make long distance calls from them (use land line for that purpose). We're happy to pay for our calls to Disney if only they would add operators or increase the efficiency of their system somehow. It's ridiculous to call and have to wait 20 minutes to get a live person or a supervisor if needed or worse yet, be hung up on while spending your own money (has happened to me 2x)!

I totally agree, I have the most basic cell phone plan and rarely, if ever make long distance calls, so I am pretty basic on my home service too, we are just not the type to use the phone that much at all. The 1-800 number was great for me planning the dining last year because it saved me a charge on a call that would have cost a lot thanks to long wait times to talk to a CM. Maybe I am in the minority, but I certainly appreciated the 1-800 number.

I agree that Disney should offer a toll free number. With two years of record attendance and record profits, they certainly can afford to pay a minimal flat fee per call.

Toll free calls don't pay a per minute rate like residential customers do; they pay a flat fee per call no matter how long the call last. Every other large reservation system I have ever used (hotel chains, travel agencies, airlines, rental cars, etc.) all have toll free numbers for their customers. I realize Disney feels they don't have to provide one because they get plenty of business without one, but come on folks, is it too much to ask that they pay for a call when we make a reservation for an over priced hotel room or an ADR for an over priced meal!

Thanks for the new numbers. I have free long distance on my cell phone but my minutes are not unlimited and I have bad reception in the house.

I'm just subscribing to this thread b/c im lazy and dont want to write the number down but want to save it for later, yes thats right I'm cheap and lazy!
