It's already been too long since we've been back so I'll make this quick...
Cast: DH(me), DW, DS14, DD11 Thu 1/6 through Fri 1/14/05.
Tiffany driver waiting for us on Thursday eve arrival & we do a Winn-Dixie stop. Powerade, milk, cereal, fruit & yogurt.
AKL still has Christmas lights up. Amber & white in color. Looks wonderful.
We are starving so we eat at Boma that night. Great dinner. DD had chicken fingers
AKL is really nice. Had our room moved the next day because we were first placed with a people pen view. Moved closer on Kudu Trail near Arusha Rock. 4th floor. Saw lots of animals...zebra, giraffes, widebeest, elands.
Friday 1/7 Go to WWOS to pick up marathon race packet. Spend an hour at the expo. Buy some marathon souvenirs. Kids want to get going to MK. Stay through the fireworks that night. Trying to go easy before the race.
Sat 1/8 We stay at AKL most of the day. 80+ degrees & kids swim for hours.
Go to bed by 10PM. Wake up at 12, 1, 2 and stay up at 2:30AM. Don't need the 3 alarms & wakeup call from Mickey
. Catch marathon bus at 3:30 & at Epcot in 10 minutes. I might do a race report later but for now...race starts at 6AM with Mickey & Minnie and fireworks. Warm & humid. Fun running through the parks. Finish in 3:23 and get my Mickey medal! 
Meet family, go to AKL for a few hours and off to Epcot the rest of the day & night. Lots of sore people like me with medals on. Had a good meal at Alfredo's. First time there in a few years. Slept well that night.
Mon at AK. DS & I assured other riders on Kali not to worry because we always get the wettest. We did. DS was the wettest ever. Went to Rainforest after the park closed and had way too much to eat. Kids loved the volcano desset.
Tue at Blizzard Beach. DS went on Summit Plummet for the first time. Changed at room and then went to Disney Quest for a few hours. Dinner at Ohanna. Always great.
Wed at MGM after CRT at MK
Went quicker without our usual May Star Wars Weekend stuff. Went to EMH at MK that evening.
Thu at Epcot (great lunch at Germany), MK for fireworks, and back to Epcot for Illuminations and EMH.
Ready to leave Friday in pouring rain. Perfect timing. Tiffany ride to airport. Had a great time. Next trip??? APs good through mid-May. Oh, get the Disney Dining Experience card if you can. For $50 and a 20% discount on most meals it easily paid for itself.
