Major Disclaimer******* You pays your money and you takes your chances******I usually don't post any information about offers until I've tried them myself AND gotten the points, but here goes.

Today I noticed on the shopping page at Mypoints, that Drugstore.com is offering 1,500 mypoints for your first non-insured prescription purchase (it's on the main shopping page-might have to refresh to get it or you can find it in shopping under "health and beauty." When I clicked on the link, I found they are also offering $10 off for that purchase.

So in my neverending quest to obtain mypoints, it occured to me that DS prescription for floride gel to be used while he has his braces is almost out. We are never paid by the insurance company for this so that would meet the criteria. Those are the kind of prescriptions they are looking for. Kids floride vitamins, women's prenatal vitamins-those kinds of prescriptions. Any kind of prescription medication that your insurance company doesn't cover. Check the site to see if they offer your medication. This does not have to be your presciption, it can be for your husband or one of your kids.

If you've never use the site before you have to set up an account. I had an account there so I logged in. I chose "self-pay" for the
payment option. I gave the information for my son-name, birthdate. When I got to the prescription page, I clicked on "I will have my doctor contact drugstore.com and that was it. I got an email from drugstore.com with instructions

I called the orthodontist's office and asked if they would call or fax a prescription to drugstore.com-no problem for me, your results may vary. I was sure to tell them to give DS name, date of birth, and MY email address ( the one I use for mypoints) This is very important. In about an hour (I love my orthodontist's office!) I got another email from drugstore. com telling me that the prescription had been received and was ready to order. I clicked on the link in the email and ordered the gel. The $10 was taken off at the checkout, so I was charged 42 cents. NO SHIPPING AND HANDLING!!!!! Even if I never get the 1,500 mypoints, I still got my prescription filled for 42 cents, which is why I'm posting this in the first place. DS is getting his braces taken off in March and this is the last time I will order this so I don't have to worry about refills. I don't imagine I will see the points until the order is processed and shipped. I'll let you know.

Does this seem like a lot of work?Probably. Really for me it was only one phone call and placing an order. Would I bother if it was a really important prescription? No! Will I ever see the mypoints, time will tell.

It sure isn't as easy as the Old Navy offer-huh?

Debbie, you are truly the "MyPoints Master"!!

Thanks for the heads up, Debbie...unfortunately I don't have any prescriptions that need to be filled...:(

I GOT THE POINTS.!!! DOIN' THE MYPOINTS HAPPY DANCE!!! That's a $10 webbie and a little more.

It took a few emails to mypoints (that's not unusual for mypoints). I had to forward the confirmation email from drugstore.com and send them my user info (I've only been with mypoints over 2 years) but it worked.

This offer is still in effect. The $10 off is good until May 1st.

This is the only time I wish I didn't have such a great prescription drug plan! Congrats LI Debbie!

Even if you have a good prescription plan, wouldn't it be worth it to have one filled through this if it is normally a cheap prescription??

Unfortunately we only take expensive stuff like Claritin. I think a three month supply is over $300. Good thinking though.

I thought I'd bump this up again to let everyone know that I tried this with DS's vitamins (not covered) and I just got the points! I saved EVERYTHING from drugstore.com & sent 2 emails to mypoints. I got the credit within a week of sending the emails, which was a week or two after I made the purchase.

Thank you!!
