OK, after a discussion with DH and the nice folks at DCL, we switched our cabin to 6507, which should be quieter...

I just updated the list on the previous page rather than reposting the FE list again. It has the new Cabin for Sophie 2003.

We would love to do a disboards meet with everyone! However, we may be arriving a little later than we'd like to the ship. Would anyone be up for possibly doing our meet and greet on one of our sea days instead? I figure most people will be busy around 3 or 3:30 on embarkation day getting situated from their travels and we may not have that much time to visit anyways before we have to go back to our cabins for the lifeboat drill.

We may have more time to 'meet & mingle' if we do it on a sea day?
Anyone???

Can we do more than one meet/greet. How about a 1st day meet/greet at 330 for those who are available. then maybe a meet/drink at one of the bars/ pools/ or something like that??? That way if you can't make one, you could make another???

Yeah--that sound good to us. That way, we have the chance to hang out more than just once.
:flower3:

could someone who has crusied DCL offer advise on the meet/greet.... such as places and times. I have no idea what would be good days/times. I read on trip reports that lots of groups get together in the ??lobby at 3-330 on day one. Also some mentioned a promonade lounge on a different day- but another said when they went there, there was a DCL activity going on. Guidance from the experienced please.

I vote for a meet & greet for 3:15 on day one at the Promenade Lounge. There will never be a "good" time to meet with so much going on. The first day gives everyone a chance to put faces to names and then you'll be surprised how often you'll run into each other all week.

Or in the alternative...for those getting to the port early, there can be a meet at 11:15 while we wait those painful minutes until they let us board. I know the girls who have been emailing are meeting in the terminal so some of us will meet then anyway :thumbsup2

Ok, let's meet in promenade lounge at 3:15 on day 1. Then let's find another day for another little get together. Maybe a bar in an evening. or an afternoon on sea day?

I was just wondering if anyone has heard what the movies will be on our cruise? I saw on another thread that there is a number to call to find out what movies will be playing, but thought I would ask here first to see if anyone knows. If nobody knows I will call soon.

That sounds good--just in case we don't make it to the "day 1" get together.

Hello everyone! Well, we got our room assignment and got an upgrade from our GTY 12 to a Cat 9 on Deck 2 - 2518. It is quite 'fore' and apparently, according to reports, quite quiet which is nice. So, while still hoping for an upgrade at Port, I am quite happy with how things turned out! :thumbsup2

On a previous cruise we had a cruise meet drop in on a sea day at the Cove Cafe and that was quite nice. There is a small inside lounge area as well as outside seating (assuming this has not changed since 2006!). I would suggest this as a meeting point for a sea day - although attendance might be sporatic as it is REALLY easy to forget things like that during all the excitment of the trip!

As mentioned by tw2123 - if anyone knows the movies I would be interested as well.

Just 2 1/2 weeks left for us before we depart for the mouse (flying into Orlando on Jan 21st) and can't wait! :dance3:

we too are flying into florida on 1/21/09... omg I have to get packing. Unfortunately we aren't doing the parks BooHoo. We are visiting inlaws at an old people's golf community near Boca. I think the name is Del Boca Vista LOL.
Then driving up to Cape C on Friday to stay at Radisson overnight- don't want to miss the Boat. Anyone else staying at radisson?
I think the Cove Cafe sounds great!!! Which day should we meet? I was thinking monday- maybe morning? for coffee say 11 am??? That could give people time to do Palos or stick kids in the club
I looked at an old navigator the functions that were going on at this time were:
movie in a theater, castaway club meeting, Mickey/minnie in lobby, Mr Todd/ping pong tourn., digital camera seminar. Then the clubs had snow white, trivia, sports for older kids.
I think some of that will be repeated other days so people could catch it later on or just skip our meet if they want.

Oh - and anyone on late dining want to link reservations?? We are a pretty friendly family DH 38 and me 36 with 1 son 6yo, almost 7yo when we cruise. DH builds custom hot rods (so any car nuts please speak up!) and I am a project manager (OK pretty boring, no need to talk about that at dinner!!). We just moved to the country from Toronto and both like a few drinks and to have fun (definately not reserved or prudish!). Anyway, if anyone wants to join us at a table and think we sound like interesting companions - just let me know!! :thumbsup2

my DH and yours should get together. Mine does not do custom hot rod...but I am sure he would like to... but he has helped build an airplane and is working on a Hummer. They can get together and have guy talk nothing like talking about cars and besides what is a carburetor for anyways?
looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Hi everyone! Unfortunately, I'm going to be removing us from the Fish Extender list:( There is a chance we may have to cancel our trip (although praying VERY hard that we won't!). All my energy is going into trying to make sure that my youngest dd will be well enough for the cruise, so I am not focusing on making my fish extenders or planning our giveaways. I definitely still hope to meet everyone at one of the meet & greets and hope to see all of you in less than three weeks!
