Wow! I bet that really was a let down!!! Was getting luggage and through customs easy for you? I heard a lot of people saying how it wasn't that big of a deal. Even Keith was saying LA was so much harder. Maybe Carnival has more problems with bad elements coming into the country!!!! ;)

We're almost packed and will be heading out in about 2 hours.....rest up everyone, Monday's right around the corner.....

The immigration process went really smooth... we were in line outside of the WD Theater at 0545 (5 families were ahead of us) and by 0620 we were back in our stateroom. They even had coffee and pastries available for us...wow... the details... Carnival had but only for custom officials :furious:

What do you mean "Monday"!!! having my cup of coffee right now and when I'm done is taking a shower, getting dressed and heading out to the Union hall.........lots to do..... We have board of directors meeting AND membership meeting this coming Wednesday

Hope you two have a smooth flight back home.

BTW, how far is Laramie from Cheyenne? I'm planning my races for this year and there's a marathon there in May.... :sad2:

Greetings everyone! I have most everything unpacked now and put away. How sad for you Alvaro that you had to leave from your family and new friends, but as you said....all good things come to an end (VACATIONS).

Here is a link to the photos fom our trip. There are some great ones towards the end of pirate night and our final dinner at Parrot Cay. If anyone wants copies, I think you can order them from this sight or PM me and I can burn you the ones you want on a CD and mail. Let me know if this won't open.

Such great pics Julie! (except for the one of me in my bathing suit! :scared1: Unfortunately I don't pull off a bathing suit like Leah does!) You got some shots that will go really well with mine. I'll let you know if I want them on disk. I suppose I should post mine too. I don't have all the captions on them, however. I'll try to do that today sometime. Connor is doing homework ALL day long--7 days worth--and I have to be right next to him making him do it.

Don't worry about the bathing suit pic Karin!!!! We are all Mommies!!!!! As you notice I am not in any of them!!! LOL ( I didn't put mine in the album)
:rotfl2:

I am so glad the we don't have to do a weeks worth of homework here! The laundry was enough for me! :)

Amanda, I looked at the Do si Do pics to see if by chance you were in some, but you weren't :sad1:

Putting all of the captions on took much more time than just adding the pics but I thought it would be fun and would make more sense to others not there! :)

I wish I would have reminded you to link with us. I would have been so much fun to have you there too. Maybe if we ever go again.........

SuperGoof I need the same support group! I was soooooooooooo sad and depressed to get off the ship Thurs! Alos to know that I had to go immediatly back to work on Fri and Sat............wahhhhhhhhhhhh I do not think I would have gotten off willingly if I did not know that I would be back in May!!!!!!! I dont know how some of you without a new cruise planned do it!!!!!!! LOL
Karin, Did you all give anymore though to the Sept cruise????

PS Karin, as I was watching the red carpet tonight for the SAG awards, it dawned on me that you remind me of Felicity Huffman from Desperate Housewives...has anyone ever told you that before or am I just nuts?

I told Keith you were thinking about it and had asked what the distance was.....his comment..... "From Panama? 7200', straight UP!"

UW has a sign posted right outside the visitors locker room that says "Welcome to 7200'. How's your oxygen?"

Amanda, after what I just went through this weekend with Connor and school work, I can say that WE ARE NOT GOING DURING SCHOOL AGAIN! I would so love to do that cruise, esp since you'd be on it! And CJ is a ready-made playmate for Connor! But, as much fun as it would be, we just can't do it--I'm dreaming, however....

Amanda, this is funny! I actually have been told this once before (and recently). I used to get that I look like Grace from Grace Under Fire. And Jennifer from Family Ties (that might be before your time...since I'm so much older than you!! :rotfl2: ) And for a while when I first moved to San Diego, I'd always be stopped on the street because I looked just like a local doctor.

Alvaro, maybe it calls for an extended vacation to get used to the altitude!!

Sorry for being incomunicado, but Marc and I just arrived home last night, Sunday (a day later than planned). As many of our new friends know, Marc had developed some type of back problem that included a visit to the Health Center on Nassau day and unforutnately kept him from enjoying the cruise to its fullest. Fortunately we were able to celebrate Pirate night with everyone, but things went sort of downhill from there. We cancelled our Palo brunch reservation so he could rest up for the final dinner at Parrot Cay.

Once we disembarked we made it over to WDW and met up with our friend Steve who flew in from San Diego to join us on Expedition Everest. We checked into Old Key West, made our way to our villa, and that was the last that Marc was able to stand up for for the next 2 days. We realized on Friday that there was no way he was going to be able to travel on Saturday so with much scrambling on the phone with Member Services we were able to stay in the villa an extra night (thank you, Steve!!!). We created quite a stir in our little area that evening as the EMTs came down the road ready to pack Marc off to the local hospital - YIKES!!!! After much fussing from him (what man is a good patient??!!) they tracked down a doctor who came and made a house call and supplied LOTS of drugs for pain. Then it was a call to the airlines to see about changing flights - oy! Long story short, we were able to fly nonstop MCO - LAX on Sunday as Marc was finally able to start walking Saturday afternoon and was making great progress.

Now for the good part... the comment from Marc was that even though he couldn't participate in the events as he had wanted to, it was the best cruise he had ever been on. While he never made it to any of the parks at WDW the bit of OKW that he saw was wonderful. We are not 2 guys that are really outgoing and chatty, but meeting our tablemates was a WONDERFUL experience. We all came from so many different areas and chatting here certainly helped breaking the ice. We will do this cruise again (we're doing the DVC member's cruise in October) and while on board booked a Dec 9, '07 cruise. Anyone wanna join us????

It's good to be back home..... but I'd rather be on the ship.

Michael

What was the name of the wonderful champagne you so generously shared with us? It didn't give me a headache, as champagne usually does. Thanks again so much!

(You know, we leave for a week, and we come home to brand new smilies. :goofy: )

Karin: It was the 1996 Late Disgorged from J Winery, Healdsburg, Sonoma County. This is another of our favorite places to visit up in the wine country. They don't bottle a lot of this, but it is special.

If anyone goes up to the wine county for a wine tasting week(end) please, please, PLEASE think about doing some tastings there. They have a separate room called The Bubble Room where you can taste various flights (red, white, or sparkling) pared with tasty morsels from their executive chef. YUM!!!! I can give you some hints for bubbly tastings in the "other" valley as well.

Michael :hippie:

Glad you guys made it home. It is definately to bad that Marc was in so much pain. You look forward to this for so long, it has to be disapointing. :sad2: Also, the wine was great. We made some pasta last night and really enjoyed it! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Joe is so proud of his pirate coins, he has showed everyone and told everyone that his "pirate" friend gave it to him! :teeth: pirate:

We have all of our vacation days already spoken for until next fall since we are heading to California in late July for 11 days. That is Mark has all of his vacation days spoken for.....I am available anytime!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Then we have all of Mark's brothers & Sis coming in from all over the US and staying with us for a week in Sept. for their Dad's retirement party. I would love to do as Karin suggested. That was for everyone to pick a weekend and all meet up in Vegas or somewhere. Is anyone else interested or have any other ideas?? :grouphug:

Well I had better go get some house work done! TTYL

I just got these put on a CD (thanks to the photo release), and I thought I'd share, even though we probably already have them! Our cruise would've been wonderful anyway, but you all made it just an amazing experience. I love looking at these pictures! If you want me to e-mail any of them to you (I have some stock photos too), PM me your e-mail address.
