1/22/2006 Roll Call for Wonder Cruisers

Elaine and Kay~~funny to hear from you two...the flight across the corridor from us at DIA was going to Ft Lauderdale.....and as the bags started coming off here at MCO, one of the first bags had a Maple Leaf luggage tag....I've had "visions" of you two already....now, if someone would write a poem, summarize a book, and swipe a chair, I'll feel right at home!!!!


I think I'm projecting.....think 720 is late enough to call Alvaro?!? He did email his phone number, so he must expect me to call, right!?!?!?!?

Keith looked out this am, and said...."no snow...great, one in a row!!!" It's 12 degrees at home, according to weatherbug....

Talk to you fairly soon....miss you both!! hahaha! Seriously, miss you guys!! Give Harry and Margaret a big kiss!

I'm still here! Just had a busy day at work trying to finish everything up before VACATION!!!

We have to pack and get the guest bedrooms ready tonight. Family has left SC and will be arriving tomorrow afternoon!!

Thanks for checking in! I'm SO sorry you won't be joining us this year!! We spent the afternoon/evening with Alvaro and his extended family....they are a lot of fun.

Our first crisis solved.....EVERYone else is linked but Keith and I..... went to Wavebands to see what we could do and Pierre's solution was for Alvaro to take us to dinner and tell them to add 2 more chairs!!!

And I already stole my first chair....on deck 9 before the lifeboat drill.....

Thanks for the effort, anyway Elaine! Just docked in Nassau and are waiting for all the shore excursions to go away so we can get off the ship in peace....dinner worked quite well. Tonight, Marc and Michael are going to Palo, so that'll help a bit. They put table 46 and 47 together, so we have a very lonnnnng table. We closed Triton's last night.

YOU ARE GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!! I'd never had them before, but I thought they were VERY good.....also had the glazed salmon tonight.....awesome!!!

Do you know if Lazlo from Hungary and Santana from India are still servers? We had them on our first cruise last November....and our stateroom host was Nigel from St. Vincent.

Nope! Whatever the alternative was in May, that's what I got! I'm not one to "experiment" with cheese...so many I don't like, but they were good. Plus, nothing else seemed to call to me!!!

Do you know if Lazlo from Hungary and Santana from India are still servers? We had them on our first cruise last November....and our stateroom host was Nigel from St. Vincent.

I was going to ask our breakfast server this am, but as soon as we got most of our meal, and one cup of coffee, we never saw them again...

We sure are!!! It's SO different than any other trip we've been on....but still good....maybe at this late stage in my life, I'm learning to relax?!?!?!? Who knows!!!

Parasailing...it was great, as usual....we had THE best weather for CC that I've ever seen in 3 January trips...HOT and the water was actually warm after you'd be in for a few minutes. I was SO worried about parasailing at 9am...figuring that the sun wouldn't be out and warm yet, but was I wrong....at 730 when we opened the verandah door, it was already VERY warm!! We only had 6 people on our boat, and only Keith and I went solo...Alvaro and Marisel went together, as did a guy and his son. So, we got a bit longer ride. For the 10am trip, there were 2 boatloads of people waiting to go. Awesome all the way around!!!

I am finally back here in Iowa and online again. Wow a week offline and over 300 emails!!

Anyway, Kelli glad you made it to the Pop all right. We flew American at 1:38 back to Chicago and Karin and her family had a 1 pm flight on American back to LA. Our gates were right across from each other so the kids litterally played until boarding, then we were all sooooo sad.

So glad we got to spend the last little bit with you and Keith while waiting for our cars at Budget. Hopefully Keith is feeling better and Expedition Everest is good! Now we all seem to have Mark's cold.

Ashley was so excited to see us last night when we got home. She made everybody I missed you cards and got Joe and Leah presents. We promised we would take her next time!

We had such a great time and had so much fun with everyone!!! I DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!

This is exactly why I haven't posted yet. I am feeling very sad and nostalgic. It has helped to look at pictures. I feel a little better knowing that it probably won't be the last time we see each other.

You all are THE BEST! Love you all!!

I'll be back on later today. (We were all up very early this morning, and Brian's headed to the pharmacy to pick up antibiotics--he has a sinus infection.... Back to the real world.)
