Just got back last night. The trip was awesome. Orlando weather was great; Castaway Cay weather was perfect (the best they had in 4 weeks); Nassau weather was ok, water was just a bit cool but we snorkled anyway, and town was gross. I easily see why many skip the port and just stay on the boat and enjoy. :earboy2: :wizard: :cool1: :earseek: :boat:

We were in room 8518; DH, me, DS 14 DS 12 3/4, and DD 10. The 12 3/4 is important because they let him particiapate in the teen program and visit ALOFT. Both DS enjoyed the teen programs alot- thanks Dan and Helen. DD went to the Lab two days, but then found out she liked mom and dad to herself. Table mates were a family of 3 from Minn. Christian and Thabang were our servers.

Christmas decorations were still up!!! :D Since the weather made it hard to remember it was just the first week in Jan, the decorations helped.

You're right about Nassau. I expected it to be more...although I did not do any excursions. I had planned on doing the blue lagoon beach day but that was cancelled because of damage due to the hurricanes. I just tried to shop a little, bought some blue mountain coffee and went back on board to eat and tan....that's great since the ship is really quiet.

Did your 12 3/4 DS like the Teen Club better then the Lab? My son turns 13 on our March cruise and I was thinking about the Lab only. I thought he may be too young for the Teen Club. What kind of stuff did they have to offer in the Teen Club?

Thanks

Nassau is what it is...the straw market is cool though...nice unique trinkets at rock bottom prices...

Atlantis is magnificent though...worth the $4.00 pp cab ride to check out the place in all it's splendor...great for taking pics, and the "Dig" is fun too...

We did not go to Atlantis or Paradise Island.

My nearly 13 DS loved ALOFT. It was open noon to 2 am and staffed with counselors. Teens do not need to be register and com The ESPN skyloft was refitted during drydock to become the new teen hangout. Very cool, computers, PS2, TV's, board games, chess. My son did PS2, chess, basketball (was captain of the winning 3 on 3 tournament for his age group). My son is our second son and spends a lot of time with older kids in boy scouts and church youth group and is fairly savvy. My older son would not have fit in this same group at nearly 13.

My 10 y/oDD went to the Lab. She had a chance to play games, computer, movies; 10am-noon, this group had the ALOFT room. They went to the movie theater together. She stayed with the group the first evening, alot the second day and then stayed mostly with us on CC and the day at sea.
