1/19/12 - DIS DREAMers cruise

Hi, all. I just rebooked while on board the Magic for the 3 night on the Dream starting 1/19/12. If you'll be sailing then, please reply and introduce yourself!

I am traveling with DH Will, DS Cameron (will be 10) and DS Evan (will be 7). We've taken two 7 day Westerns on the Magic and had AWESOME vacations each time. Next January, we are going to WDW for a week and decided to add on a short cruise afterwards to check out the Dream.

Looking forward to some replies,

My DGS is 9 and his name is Cameron too. That should be fun if they are in the kids club together.

I haven't forgotten about y'all. With the crazy holidays, I have been traveling for 3 straight weeks. We get back to Dallas tomorrow- I will sit down and figure out the cabins involved in the fish extenders. I will make a list and post the cabins by floor. If you haven't sent me your room assignments, let me know as soon as you can! Hope everyone had a great holiday

One question, if you leave alcohol in an adult FE, it might be "snatched" by a passerby who is underage. Not wanting to be a party pooer, but just concerned.....

there is a great sticeky at the beginning of the thread on Frequrntly asked questions, it is great for newbies.

As for cabana sharing, itmis really up to the folks that share, be it by family or by number. A cabana sounds nice but we never seem to sit still enough to enjoy it. Having a place to stay for your Mom really is thoughtful.

How does this work? If someone from this group wants to share the cabana they pay a certain $ for it? My mom is undergoing chemo and though she is hanging tough, somewhere guaranteed out of the sun has a certain ring. We'll be fine no matter what, but this made me curious. Thanks for schooling this newbie!

I didn't think about that... The last two cruises, we have received mini-bottles of peach schnapps (Georgia), Jack Daniels (Kentucky), etc. I have never had anything ever taken out of my FE, but I can see where it could happen. Sure you don't want to participate?

Yay! I'll let you know my cabin # as soon as it is assigned!! My family in 5046 are Barbara, David, Jeff and Katie. My name is Leah, my husband is Todd and our 3 year old is Caitlyn.

It is -25 here in Alaska, so I am very excited we are so close to cruise time...can't get to FL soon enough!!

My husband does not drink and I only drink pina coladas occasionally. We don't care to have alcohol in our FE but take it and give it away to friends if it is left in ours. Thanks for doing this! I can't wait. Alchohol is fine by me, and I don't think there is much risk of kids walking by taking it, since most FE stuff is in bags. Our Christmas cruise last year had 66 cabins in the FE group - it took several days to make the rounds. It was crazy! So this group seems very manageable. Liz

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself and say we are super-duper excited for our first cruise as a family! I will be traveling with my hubby, DS 15, DD (almost 12) and DD 3. As well as my parents and my in-laws!

I LOVE the idea of FE but don't think I can take on one more thing before this ship sets sail so I wont be participating. BUT I am sure once I get on board I will have wished I signed up!

Anyone else checking the weather reports like a crazy person? I sure hope it is nice! We are going to Atlantis (via Comfort Suites) and want it to be warm enough to ride all those slides!!

Just checked the weather
Friday Mostly cloudy in the morning, then partly cloudy. High of 79°F. Winds from the East at 5 mph.
Saturday Clear. High of 79°F. Winds from the ENE at 10 mph

It is too soon for a marine forecast, the water temps have been about 75.

No moon to speak of as the new moon is the 23rd.

Just checked with the Adopted Brother who will be staying at the house...all is fine there.
Packing...is it too soon to start?????
