Grand Cayman,Day 4:
Woke early and had breakfast at Lumier's. Vasile and Delphine were our servers and really delightful. Loved the eggs benedict, can't help but indulge on a cruise.
We saw just a few tenders leaving before breakfast. Then it was announced that tenders were on hold due to rough seas. About 10 AM or so they announced they were moving the ship tp Spots Bay on the other side of the island. Arrived there about 11:15. we went to the theater, waited and were on shore about 12:20.Our original plan was to go to 7 mile beach but we thought it would be rushed so we went downtown and shopped a little. At Spots Bay it was chaotic. DCL had arranged shuttles to town, but it was difficult to tell what were shuttles and what were cabs, and we were unsure where to get the shuttle, lots of people walking around confused. So we just took a cab rather than waste more time. Knowing I was disappointed about losing a beach day,DH bribed me with a black coral pendant and earrings. Things were looking up! Then we went to have lunch at Breezes on the Bay which has such a nice view of the harbor. After we ordered several bees were bothering my MIL who is allergic. Since DH could only kill so many we got a little nervous about my MIL getting stung so we left before lunch came. At that point we were very hungry and it was getting hot so we headed back to the boat. Took the girls to the pool and had lunch from Plutos and Pinocchios, followed by ice cream for the girls. How they loved being able to eat ice cream every day! The fruit bar is a nice touch too for some healthier alternatives.
Dinner was Around the World. Servers were more relaxed. Enjoyed the quesadillas, lobster bisque and especially the Indian roast chicken and bread pudding. A delicious dinner from start to finish.
Skipped the Hercules show. relaxed on the balcony after dinner.Girls went to the kids club and had theor picture taken with Daisy Duck.
I give DCL credit for considering our safety with the tendering situation. Hindsight is 20-20,and given how long it took to finally get ashore it may have been better not to try,and to go for extra time in Cozumel, but you could not have known that from the outset. All in all they did their best in trying to be safe as well as keep the guests happy by not missing Grand Cayman.
I'll get to 7 Mile Beach next time!
