1/17/09 Magic anyone???

OMG...how do you guys have pics up already....hubby and DD's picked us up at the airport and we got home about 7 pm on Saturday night and was invited out to dinner with friends (thank goodness...got out of cooking another night!!) and then Sunday was unpacking and cleaning the house!!! Monday back to work!!!!

hopefully tomorrow I will post some pics as I am off work for the day.

I ran into a few of you guys but Georji I know I did not see you at all anywhere!!!

My cousin and I had a fab time....just as great as the other 16 DCL cruises I have been on (that was her first). We spent a lot of time in Sessions before dinner and it was so nice and relaxing. Richard, it was lovely meeting you and Jacky in the theatre for a chat!!!

I did the 12 Metre Regatta in St. Maarten and it was great!!!

Did the Atlantis Submarine in St. Thomas and that was interesting....did not see quite as many creatures as I had hoped but our guide was great and he keep it entertaining!!! Also got to do the gondola to the top of St. Thomas just before the storm rolled in....got some pics on the way up and then walked around for a few minutes...next thing you know there is no visibility and it is pouring.....gladly I got the pics I wanted already. The people coming up did not look too happy though!!! They had no view at all but clouds!!!

We did Palo brunch on Monday at 10:30 and were waitlisted for Palo Dinner and they fit us in on Pirate night at 8:30...dinner went late so we were watching the fireworks from Palo window. Food was awesome!!!

Did not want to come back on Saturday!!!

Anybody rebook onboard???

MJ

[Christal and I ran into each other on pirate night. Our DDs played together in the kids club one day.

We had an awesome time!!! And we are booked for the Western on November 28th this year. Then DH made me promise not to book another cruise for at least a year unless it was the DVC member cruise. We'll see how that goes. It was our first cruise and we're hooked.[/QUOTE]

Allison, I hate we couldn't find each other earlier in the cruise. My DD kept insisting that we look for you at the Mickey pool but we had no luck. I'm glad we found you on pirate night, she was thrilled to find your DD in the kids lab once I told her who to look for.

I felt bad too. My DD had so much more fun with someone that she knew in the kids club! We went to the Mickey pool only a couple of times. It got so crowded that my DD got frustrated and wanted to leave. You're right that its a shame we couldn't have hooked up earlier.

Christal...we ran into each other outside of Deck 9 elevators by Topsiders near the end the cruise....sorry we could not chat longer!!!

Wish I could have met and chatted with everyone....as previously said we probably all passed each other all cruise but did not know it!!!

We were in cabin 6648 pretty far aft on Deck 6 with solid wall veranda....after the rain in St. Thomas our veranda was flooded with an inch of water that did not drain off. Next morning crew had to come and wet vac it all up. That was our only inconvenience all cruise and even that was not that bad.

Oh...I forgot....I realized late in the cruise that I never received our boarding passes for our airline onboard checkin in program. So, about 6 pm on Friday I went to guest services (and waited in that long line) to be told that did not have us registered for it. I was a little shaken as I had filled out the forms online and filled out the booklet page as well and told them at check in in the terminal that we were participating. The CM at check-in did not (or I did not hear her) tell me that I also had to stop by guest services ONBOARD and confirm before 6pm on Thursday. CM at guest services said she would try to get us registered for it but we would not know until later that night and it was iffy that we would get it. At about 11:00 pm, just before our bags had to go out we found our boarding passes waiting for us on the bed!!! DCL comes through again!!!!

MJ

OMG!! Georji, I ran into you several times and never knew it was you. I'll post pictures so you know who I am. I think I spoke to you the first or second night in the Guest Services line. How funny is that?
Now if I can throw my DH off the computer with the pictures on it, I will post.

FUNNY! That's hilarious! Amazing how close we all were but didn't have a meet up ... sad! I think that's so funny though that we all were around each other but didn't know it at the time! LOL!

Anyway, I hope that everyone had a BLAST! DH and I nearly bought the DVC but decided to wait a bit longer. As nice as the incentives were to buy on board we decided to wait and research it a bit.

MJ, I was looking for you too but unfortunately, we missed out ... next time ok? I'm such a computer nut that I had my computer there and was uploading photos ... then I uploaded them onto my phone and then as soon as we were in Port Canavral I uploaded a bunch onto my facebook! YAY FACEBOOK!

We're FOR SURE hooked on DCL ... even DH who is the most frugal man alive (and that's saying it nice), has said over and over again that he's so excited to do it again and that it was WELL worth the money!

Anyway ... keep the updates and photos coming!

Good morning, all!

We got back from Florida Sunday afternoon, but I couldn't bring myself to post anything just yet. I have some serious post cruise depression going on! Every time we cruise it gets harder and harder to say good bye to our friends that we cruised with and our crew friends. I was honestly nervous about how much we would enjoy this cruise, because topping the last one would be difficult. Well, let me tell you, this cruise met and SURPASSED all of our expectations!!!! The crew was PHENOMINAL! Between our old friends and the new ones, we were very well cared for! Now, surpassing THIS cruise is going to be near impossible!!! :o) I am planning on writing a trip report, but have no time to do so right now. Hopefully I will get to it eventually!
Oh, by the way, we were that loud, obnoxious group that were all in red t-shirts on the first day. If you were in our dinner rotation, I am sure you hated us, since our servers always had us in fits of very loud laughter! What can I say....we are from Boston and we have volume control issues! :o):wave2:

We booked on board but apparently the computers were down so we have not gotten our confirmation as of yet. Carolyn , the re-booking cast member, said she would send it to us. I hope that is going to happen.

Funny, but I was never told to re-check with guest services in order to confirm that we were signed up for the on board airline confirmation. I am glad DCL came through for you. They usually do a great job of everything.

I have started a trip report with plenty of pictures, copies of navigators, menus and much more. If you are interested in reading it can be found here:

Great trip report!! I asked about the photos they took in the terminal as they were not doing that this past October when I last cruised. The CM told me our cruise was the first for the Magic but the Wonder has done a few cruises already with the photos. He said the next step is to have your photo right on your KTTW card (which I have seen on other cruise lines).

We also spent the night at the Hyatt...checked in and got to our room about 11:30 am. Had lunch and shopped for the afternoon. Then we watched Slumdog Millionaire on the room TV and then about 8:00 pm we went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. I actually thought you were behind us in the restaurant as there was a family just like yours with 2 kids around 7!!! Then decided it probably wasn't.

I actually bought a bottle of wine from the restaurant to take onboard with us...cost a fortune but I wanted my bottle to have in the cabin. Got some more much cheaper when we got to St. Maarten.

Looking forward to next installment. P.S. Beaches and Cream is my favorite ice cream spot in all of WDW.....was there in October before our cruise.

Georji - Here is a picture of us in St. Maarten. Of course I have no idea what my DD was looking at.

YAY! I remember you!! That's funny ... when I saw you I got a great vibe from you! I must have known innately that you were a DIS friend! :goodvibes
Great photo!

Good news everyone ... my mom and dad are taking our whole family on a cruise for their 25th anniversary and after seeing our photos she's now wanting to do a DISNEY CRUISE! I can't imagine what it would be like if we took 2 Disney Cruises in 1 year! My boys are totally spoiled!

Oh...I remember seeing your hubby and DD around the ship!!!

Something is wrong here.....how could we have been enjoying 80 ish weather in St. Thomas and enjoying a tropical drink last Wednesday and today I am shoveling 5 inches of snow off the driveway and drinking hot chocolate!!!:confused3

Ok, now this won't be nearly as funny as it was at the time, but I had to share with all you fine folks!

I was doing laundry one day and the people were rude leaving thier stuff in the washers/dryers for HOURS after they were done and so I was waiting in line for a dryer and realized that I needed another dollar so I called the cabin (as I didn't want to lose my place in line), and my oldest son answers. I asked him where Daddy was, and he said he didn't know (btw, he was in the shower), and I asked him where Grandma was, and again he didn't know. I said "Darn it ... I need the back pack for some money" he said in his cute 7-year-old voice "Mommie, where are you?" Jokingly I replied "I'm in jail" you could hear him jump off the bed and he yelled into the phone "I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!" And slammed down the phone! LMAO! Then I called him back and he answered and said "Mom, I'm getting my shorts on, I'LL BE RIGHT THERE"

I now know who to call if I'm ever in jail! LOL!

Wow what a great vacation! So glad we were gone that particular week because apparently the weather STUNK the whole time we were gone. Whoo hoo!

Here's my trip report, complete with scanned navigators from each day if anyone wants to steal them lol.

Not sure if I saw any of you on the ship, but I did see lots of decorated doors!

Will it let me link to my website? Guess we'll see...

Your pics are awesome and what a fantastic trip report!! Well done!!!

I definately recognize you!! I was right behind you and your son as we were pulling towards Castaway Cay.....did you have a really nice camera with a long lens? if so, then it was you I was standing behind.

what kind of underwater camera do you have...I can't believe the clarity and color of the undwater pics...just beautiful. Were they enhanced at all with any software? Sea turtles were awesome!!!

That's so funny!!! Yes I had the long lens. I was using it to scope out my beach chair. :rotfl:

We used the Pentax Optio W60. I will be honest, some of the pictures I cheated on. They had the regular "bluish" underwater tint coming off the camera so I opened each one in photoshop and just hit "auto levels" and it seemed to magically fix them. That was the only adjustment I did. It's weird because auto levels NEVER works well, but for some reason it did great with the underwater pics. So if you have any bluish underwater pics and you have photoshop, give it a try!

Laura - I loved your trip report!! I can't believe we missed the dolphins. We saw all the pelicans as we were docking but it was too dark for pictures.

A week ago we were in St. Thomas in beautiful weather. Now were are back to this crud in the Northeast. My boss told me that my "Mickey Magic" has worn off. I guess I was a bit grumpy this morning.:rotfl:

Georgi, I saw you EVERYWHERE! I was room #6549, I think I saw you in the hallway, I for sure saw you at the kids club, I was walking behind you at Castaway Cay, and I think I was behind you at the buffet one day. It's so weird to say hello to someone you have actually never met though. I told my friend one day at the kids club though "I think that's Georji from the boards" she said "say hi", but I didn't even know if that is your real name or what. You were the only person I recognized from the pics on the boards. Anyway, we too are HOOKED! I booked the same cruise for same time next year and my aunt and her family are coming too! She's never been, but she is a Disney addict and has been to the world too many times to count. Anyone elso book onboard?
