1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

I don't know if there is anyone left at home to read this or not ;) but we are off to the airport about 6am. We wish you all safe travels and are so excited to meet you all on Saturday. Take care.

Just checking in quickly from POFQ! WOW the parks have been sooooo busy it feels like high season. Just insane and not totally enjoyable. I can't wait to get on the ship!!!
Checked out my ressie - no upgrade. Just did some laundry and getting a few things packed tonight.
See you all soon!

Liz - Just wondering if the parks are busy because of the annual marathon this week.

See everyone tomorrow!!!!! There is a snow warning in Michigan today - in Detroit 6-10 inches starting this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Northwest better not cancel our flight tonight!!!!

Oh man! How I would love an upgrade! I need to go on line and see!

We're in southern ga tonight. We stopped at a gorgeous oceanfront park today. The kids are swimming in the pool. Tomorrow is the cape Canaveral beachfront and merritt park.

Where did you stop in SE GA? Just curious about the oceanfront park because we live in GA. Please and Thank You! :confused3

Well boys and girls, looks like the countdown is over! Woo Hoo! Everyone please be safe and we are looking forward to meeting you all soon.
Just a friendly reminder, (which my husband just looks at me and rolls his eyes), as some of you may have read on the message boards police are out in full force on the way to the port. Watch the speeding, every time we go it looks like Christmas trees lit up with all the flashing lights! :scared1:

Have a MAGICAL vacation everyone and for those that get there before me........................................HOLD THAT SHIP!!!!!!!!!!

I already have a smile pasted on my face, but after last night, Whew!! How about those GATORS? #1 Baby! Woo Hoo! Go Gators!!!!!!

Well, this will be my last post before heading to the Airport in Louisville, KY. We will be in Orlando around 5:00. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. :cool1: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Oh no!!!! I sure hope you get out too. Is there any chance you can try to catch an earlier flight? I'm glad we left when we did!!!

We're in Kingsland, GA. Mile marker 3 on 95. We went to the park in St. Mary's, GA. We met the city manager at the park and his aunt is on our cruise!!!! I didn't meet her, but her name is Shirley!

We're off in about an hour to the Cape!!! We'll hold the ship down for everyone who still has to leave!! Is anyone staying at the Radisson? We'll be on the 10:30 shuttle TOMORROW morning!!!!

Wow! This is so weird! I live in St. Marys and work in Kingsland at exit 3. Was the City Manager a "big boy" named Bobby? :confused3

Okay - this is getting weirder! Yes - dh thought he remembered that was his name. And, dh said it wasn't the City Manager's aunt going on the cruise, but another city employee. Are you that aunt, by any chance? I don't think I ever got your real name!

I want to sit here and hang around the computer and find out! But, we're outta' here! I'll check in this afternoon from the Radisson!!!!

Oh - and is there another FE list with all the upgrades? I don't think I got all of them from the last two days. We were not upgraded, but I didn't think we would be. We're a family of six and I think only the cat 1 and 2s sleep that many - right? We also have adjoining rooms and I wouldn't want to give that up!

I think I am. :) My name is Sandy and my nephew, Bobby is the one of the Manager's in St. Marys. How weird! I love my hometown and am very proud of it! I am glad you got to enjoy our park.

I am chomping at the bits for 5:00 to get here. WORK day today! ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

As for the FE list, I haven't seen where it has been updated because Lollipop's Mom is in DW. I hope to update mine at the meet & greet or perhaps we will have one more update later tonight!?! Hope so.

Be careful and am looking forward to meeting you soon! Safe travels! ::woohoo:

Just got back from checking out the port. I can't wait to get there early tomorrow.

See you real soon:cool1:

Hope everyone had a great time. Thanks for the FE gifts. Anyone book another while onboard? We did, we will be going on the 7 night Eastern in Dec of 2010.

Just a note to say "Hello" and to tell everyone what a pleasure it was to meet you all. Thanks for our FE gifts and most of all for our new found friendships. We hope to chat with you online again soon or better yet to sail with you on future cruises. Take care and may the new year bring you all that you wish for! :)

And a special thanks to Jan (JanDave) and Crainbow & wife, you helped to make our trip very enjoyable and we will always remember how much fun you guys were! Take care! :flower3:

Well, what did everyone think? Was it everything you expected? Anything that surprised you? We had a great time, and I would like to go again in a few years, but not until dd3 is older. The kids had an absolute blast and are ready to go again tomorrow, but it was not as relaxing a vacation as I had anticipated. DD3 did not like the clubs at all, we did leave her a few times but a cm had to tear her out of our arms screaming:guilty: . I think we counted 4 hours out of the 10 days we were gone that we did'nt have kids with us. We did have some great, bonding family times, though. Also, with 3 kids in different clubs, it seemed as though we were always checking someone in or out, so in a few years I would be comfortable letting the older 2 check themselves in and out. Our servers were amazing, though, we exchanged e-mails and would request them again. We loved the shows and the characters, and despite cooler weather than I had hoped for, we still had a great time at Castaway Cay and Nachi Cocum beach, and the Pirate encounter was fun too. Hope you all arrived home safely!:)

Hey Everyone!
We had a great time! 95% of the cruise was perfect for us. I found the entertainment made the cruise worth every penny. The food was a bit bleh at times. I don't want to see a scrambled egg or mcdonalds style hashbrown for a LONG time! LOL. The pancakes/waffles were terrible. I did find breakfast a let down, and we tried a few places. Not the worst thing to have happen though and it didn't damper the cruise. Our dining team was TERRIBLE - thats a whole other thread. LOL. We skipped out on dinner 3 times because we could not do anymore 2.5 hour dinners with horrible service. We went on the last night and it only made us remember WHY we skipped the other nights. Our room steward was wonderful! I tipped him extra.

But for those of you who don't know - Meg got injured on the 2nd last night. We went to studio sea to play the pirates spin the wheel game. All week she had been trying to get picked to play - we tried as a team, and just never picked. Finally - she got her turn and got picked to go up and play. The first challenge was something about the tower of treasure. They had to build it as high as they could in 30 seconds and the highest team won. Well I don't know what the heck Disney staff were thinking, but it was all pirates treasure - brass objects, etc... and her team's toppled and she was kneeling down - it toppled down on her knees and sliced them both open.
Blood everywhere.....not a fun scene. So I ran her to the door and got the first CM I could find - showed her and she went into full panic mode like the ship was sinking - she had NO CLUE what to do. She ran back inside Studio Sea for help and never came back out!!!! So the only person I could see was the guy at the DVC desk - he saw meg covered in blood and ran to a phone - and then all of a sudden the woman from studio sea reappeared with napkins! WTH?
So meanwhile Meg is in tears, my hands are covered in blood from putting pressure on her knees and this girl says to follow her. She walks us through shutters and the art gallery (with blood dripping all over - meg is proud to say she found some of them the next day - dont ask LOL) - and down to the promenade lounge - she starts seeking out some guy and I am thinking "WHY are we in the lounge? Maybe there is a first aid here?" - and I realize she was finding a friend/boyfriend to deal with this - she was panicked. The guy immediately phoned the medical center and then he had to GIVE HER DIRECTIONS on how to take us there!!! No joke!
So we get there and the nurse was incredible, she took care of the cuts and stuff, but Meg had to have a tetnus shot. OUCH! Then some head of security white uniform guy came and took a report. He apologized,etc....
We were there for just over an hour. They asked if we had medical insurance (we do), but then the ship said they would take care of the costs (ya think?).

Off we went - Meg's knees and arm were so sore for the next 2-3 days. Poor kid.
I was really convinced that we were going to go back to the room at some point and find a big stuffed mickey or a gift basket or SOMETHING - but nothing at all. There was a voicemail from Darren saying he hoped "Young Elizabeth was feeling better". He didn't even get the name right!
At this point I was really frustrated with DCL and had a 'I am never cruising DCL again' moment.
My tablemates were woken up by a drunk at their door one night and they got chocolate covered strawberries sent to their room for their trouble, yet my daughter is sliced open by their game props and they don't even send a balloon??????
I figure I didn't spend enough on the ship as I am not a drinker and didn't book excursions,etc... through them.

I did get past the 'I hate DCL' though, and had rebooked for Feb 2010 before this incident, although I admit I am still considering RCI right now.
I did put in a complaint with guest services about how it was handled by the cast member that night.
We loved the cruise - the entertainment was top notch and we loved every show (yes, even the hypnotist - but I love silly stuff like that).
We loved getting treats in our FE (thanks for spoiling us!) and making some new friends.
We loved the deck party and watching the movie under the stars - so many wonderful memories.
