1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

My sailings on the Wonder were: July 2003; June 2005; October 2007 (DVC member cruise); and September 2008. I've never sailed in January before. I have always wanted to be in a warm weather climate in January and now I can take that wish off my bucket list!

All of you will be able to recognize Carla and me on Saturday. We will be wearing white t-shirts with red lettering that says "Grandmas gone Wild".

Jan - Do you know when the DVC member get together is? I was looking through all the paperwork I have and remember seeing something about it somewhere, but can't find it. Don't want to miss out on the freebies!!! :woohoo:

Just 3 more sleeps until we heard to FL for our wonderful cruise. Looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday.

We will have a special guest with us. A few weeks ago on the board a lady was asking if someone would take her 2nd grade daughters class teddy bear on a cruise and take pictures with it. I told her we had a 3 yr old DD who would take great care of her. So, that being said, we will have Sugar the bear with us from IL. I am hoping to get a picture of all of us with the bear for them.

I don't know about the pools/beaches when it's in the 70s. I guess it depends on where you come from. We're from MI and 70s will feel VERY warm and we will swim. I've decided to take the attitude that I can't control the weather, so I'll just enjoy whatever happens to come!

Norovirus - You can get it anywhere! I got it a couple summers ago when staying at a nice hotel. About 40% of the people who were in my conference also got it. I think the risk of getting it on a cruise ship is about the same as when you eat out. It's just that you eat out a lot on a cruise. The cruise industry got slammed when it became known as the cruise ship disease, so I think they are particularly careful now. I'm not worried about it!

Jen- Do you have any idea what S/A will be wearing on Sat? CJ wants to be able to find them in the terminal. He will be in a bright blue tie dye shirt w/ Stitch surfing on the front (His choice not mine) At least I got him to save the "I Have Issues" T for later in the week! :)

See you all so soon:thumbsup2

Well, this will be our last night home...we leave early tomorrow and hopefully the weather won't be too bad...I don't want our flight to be delayed:sad1:
Everyone have a safe trip and we will see you on Sat!!!:cool1:

Have a safe trip and "we'll see ya real soon"!

Thanks for the info about the temperature & norovirus. I found something on the web that said only 1% of passengers suffer from the virus - I guess we don't have to worry about that one. After the weather we are having here in Ohio, anything above 60 will feel nice!

LOL about the issues shirt! A and S will be wearing red and blue polo shirts.

We are at our first hotel on our way down! We went tbrough an ice storm in ohio. It was very scary! Looking forward to better weather in SC where we will stay with dh's brother.

More to say but typing on an iPod touch is hard.

On our October 2008 western cruise, the DVC group presentations were on Monday and Thursdays at 12:30 pm in Diversions. Someone in that group won a $200 or $250 onboard credit. The DVC member gathering was held on Sunday at 10 am. We missed that event as we had 10:30 am brunch in Palo.

You can always stop by the DVC desk on deck 4 for info. Also stop by there for pins and lanyards, and to make sure they know you are DVC members. T

3 more sleeps..we are down to counting on one hand.

For all of those already enjoying the world of the Big Cheese: pace yourself I'm about to join your party!!

:surfweb: For all of those still in the daily grind: You've got at least 16 more hours until you start the journey. Pace yourself, I'm about to join your party!!!

What will be your first "task" after crossing the plank? To give you an example of "task", mine will be to find a sandwich for my left hand and a vacationy type drink for my right hand!!! :woohoo:

Do I sound excited yet?

Upgrade fairy was @ my house about 5:30 today :cool1:  Checked messages about 10 tonite and DU had called. Room 7528 to 8526 :woohoo: Had plans to be early @ port Saturday to see about an upgrade so that is now taken care of. This is my 1st free upgrade and it does feel good  We stayed in 8528 last May so we'll be in the next room. Did anyone else receive and upgrade :confused3 Going to start packing Wednesday and get bills paid.

My cruise tradition is to have a BBC :woohoo: in hand while standing on deck 4 as the ship is moving away from port. I enjoy waving to the port CMs who are waving goodbye to us with their Mickey hands, waving to the landlubbers who are waving to us from the restaurants and Jetty Park, and watching the guy jump from the Magic to the pilot boat all before we are out in that beautiful ocean.

DW and I did most of our packing last night. Looking forward to wrapping up this day. We drive down tomorrow. Friday in Epcot with dinner at Chef's de France.

Look forward to seeing all on Saturday.

We were not so lucky. But then, we have been in this same room for the last two cruises.
