1,000 lights and counting!

Hi all!

I decided to get a head start on the christmas decorations today since I only had one day off this week. At the current time, there are over 1,000 lights outside my house and I'm nowhere near done! LOL! So, my question to all of you.....how many lights do you put on your house during the holidays?

I only put them where I can reach. My bushes and shrubs are covered....... I can't get to the overhangs or gutters.

We haven't started outside, but I put 700 on my tree last night

We put ours up yesterday. I had to get some new lights, and DD helped me pick them out. I'll post a picture tonight.

Let's see.....600 icicle lights + 100 on the reindeer + 400 in the birch tree + 100 on a wreath + 200 on small life-like tree = 1400.

Bought a new 7.5' life-like tree for indoors and put 1880 lights on it! 1600 plain clear and 280 random twinkles.

Not sure..... Many folks around here have already decorated the outside of their homes, no lights on yet though.

Tiggerlover~ I like that idea about posting pictures of the outside decorations!

We have a new house this year, so our trees are really tiny, so there wont' be as many this year. Last year however, we have around 3000 lights outside. We had 12 strings of 100 in our big tree in the front year. It was very bright!!!!!!!! But everyone that came to our house complimented how pretty our lights were.

lol...this sounds like me if i had a house!! we only have a tiny 2 bdrm apartment...and only put 300 lights on our tree this time...i want to add some twinklies next year though...it's just missing something and maybe that would do it!
