And YAYAYAYAYAY We are officailly a GAGGLE NOW!!!!!!

This will also be our first Disney Cruise. We are WDW Vets and we are all looking forward to doing our first cruise.

This board is a great source of information!

We are approaching the online booking period for Palo, spa, and kids clubs. 105 days out for suite guests, 90 days out for repeat cruisers and 75 days out for us newbies. I dont think we will do Palo this trip since we dont want to miss a dinning rotation, but the spa and kids clubs.... cant wait to book those!!

Hi Laura,

We will not be doing Palos either as the cruise will really be for our grand daughter to enjoy! The thing is, we want her to be with us most of the time, yet we want her to have the best of both worlds...lol.

I have only begun researching the Disney Cruise. Well, glad we are all newbies at this. Then we can share our findings. I will have alot of questions...lol.

Thank you for the Welcome! We are now a Gaggle!
Cindy

PS whats a gaggle? lol

Laura is your clock right for the Disney Wonder? I just tried inputting a clock but it gave me 114 days...Spet 29th right?

Let me know. I will wait in case I am doing something wrong.

ANd I fixed my siggy! The old counter was for another cruise... LOL Taking a Carnival cruise with my girlfirends on Oct 10th... yeah, life is good.

We have early seating and our cabins are on Deck 6 mid ship.

Good Morning Laura, :sunny:

We just booked Saturday...we are on Deck 7 and still awaiting on my email confirmation from the TA. I am hoping there is avail. in early seating, but we shall see.

From what I understand we have chosen a good time of year to sail, less congested? What are your thoughts?

Have A Great Day,
All the Best,
Cindy

PS thank you for starting this thread!

Will be coming with our family (less the 3 month old who will be staying with grandma). Will have 2 boys, 4.5 and 2.

What things specifically do you reserve in advance? I saw the spas and kids clubs. Anything else? We will not be doing Palo as I do want to enjoy the rotations. If we will be taking our kids on the excursions and not dining at Palo, do you need to book any time at the kids clubs?

Hi Wahoowa,

What exactly are the dinner rotations?
and Welcome!

See Laura, if you build it they will come. :)

Cindy

Rotations are the different restaurants that you are assigned to eat at each night. On the 3-day, you get a different one each night. A server is assigned to you for all meals and they are supposed to be a lot of fun to do with your kids. Palo is adults only and although I would not mind a romatic meal, I am on the ship for my kids.

Hi Again Wahoowa,

We are also on the ship for our grand daughter and want her to have the best time! We brought her on the Sovereign of the Seas in December, which had a great program, but she is so much into the Disney Characters.

Thank you for explaining the dining process. I now have a better understanding! Any other pointers you have is welcomed!

I read that if you bring a T-shirt or pillowcase with a marker and leave it at the Guest Services Desk, the characters will fill them with autographs.

I just spoke with my TA, she booked us a GTY and we are waitlisted for 1st seating…. in case we end up with 2nd seating, does anyone have any pointers?

All The Best,
Cindy

Can I tell you all how jazzed I am you all found this thread!!!

You can register kids for the kids clubs in advance and I beleive Flounders too (for the under 3 crowd) When the kids clubs are open, the kids can go anytime.... Flounders is reserved for a specific times, as they have a limit on how many kids can be there at one time (kids clubs dont... or at least I dont think they do)

Disney dining is unlike any other cruise line (I think lol) There are 3 themed restraunts and each night you go to a different one... AND your waitstaff follows you from restraunt to restraunt, so you 'bond' with them. Palo's is an adults only restraunt that you have to book seperatly, but on a 3 day cruise that would mean you would miss one of the other three.

September is a good time to cruise.... prices are lower, less kids on board, but with that comes the posiblity of Hurricanes... The weather should be lovely.... not to hot, not to cold, and the water temps should still be just marvy!

I have heard some people like 2nd seating... with 2nd seating you go to the shows first, then dinner... folks with littleones often feed them before the shows via room service, go to the show, then take the kids to the club to have a slumber party while they eat a nice dinner without interuption. YOu can also see if you can change your dining times (and rotation) once your on the ship.

We also plan on bringing something for the Charaters to sign, but I am not telling the kids about it, in case it doesnt happen... better to be surprised, than disapointed.

Hi Laura,

And let me tell you HOW jazzed I am that you started this thread! I have learned so much already! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I believe from your previous post, since I am new to Disney, I have to wait a certain amount of days before registering Sierra to Kids Club? She is 4 so she would be too old for Flounder’s right? Which clubs would be in her age category?

I am learning so much so quick! Keep the knowledge coming!
Thank you! :cheer2:
Cindy

One last quest...lol, why would people want to change their dinner rotation? Is one night better than the other? Boy you can tell I am green! :flower:
