09/28/2002 Cruise

Congrats Papa!!! Little girls are so much fun! (Mother of a little girl! ;) ) (Did you start on the bibs already???)

So...did everyone take down their Christmas trees or Menorahs yet? We did last week. (Yikes)

No confirmation slip from DH for the 9/28. but he is well aware of my need to cruise 9/28 and my desire to cruise once or twice before then! :)

Have a great week everyone!

Congrats Papa and Kathy! What a beautiful name!!!

The kids saw Beauty and the Beast today at IMAX with their Day Care group. They gave it a BIG thumbs up!

We are going to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in 3 weeks! I am so glad because I need a Disney fix very badly. I have also convinced my brothers and sisters (all 7 of them) to have our family reunion at Hilton Head this year (in August)so I am going to be scouting Resturants/Golf/Tennis for our August trip.

:bounce: X250 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy your vacation Mary hope that you have nice weather and that everyone has a great time.

Karen you sound like my oldest daughter, she still had decorations in the trees from Halloween after the first of this year!
You know the little hanging ghosts and such.

I was in a panic this morning as the www.wdwinfo address was not working. Thank goodness that I remembered the disboard address.

Patty must really be busy being a travel specialist now. Hope that everyone in Idaho is doing fine.

Mary are the kids excited about going to hilton head or is this going to be a parents kind of thing? The only trouble with wdw is when you are in the magic kingdom at the haunted house. The little ones are ankle deep:D I know that when Katie gets here that will be one of the trips that we make. You know the grandparents thing. Mike

Mike, we are ALL loking forward to this trip. The nice thing about HH is that there isn't the "distraction" of the parks. When we go to WDW we often wish there was more time to check out the things offered at the resort, but feel like we have to get the most out of our stay by spending most of each day in the parks. Even after all the trips we have made, there is always SO much to see and do. It can make vacation pretty busy. At HH we spend a great deal of time relaxing! There are plenty of activities to keep the kids from getting board (and us too, for that matter) but it is a much slower pace then at WDW. The fact that is only a 2 hour drive also helps reduce the stress!

I know Katie will be very happy to learn that her Grand Parents are Disney fans! June will be here before you know it!

Mary enjoy your trip and I am sure that just the two hour drive is a big help. Kathy is talking about going to feed the stingrays again when we stop in grand cayman. She went with her sister the last time that we were there on our carnival cruise in 1998.

Hope that we have time to do some things in Key West. We have never been there before.

I've been terrible about getting online........but gosh you really hit the nail on the head.
I work 48 hours a week at my job job, and then I get to come home and work 60 hours a week at my other one. Things have finally slowed down this week a bit. I think that I learned something that most LS's didn't know. That Carnival Cruise Line started staying open 24 hrs a day. LOL.........and they would just laugh when I would call at 3:00 a.m. Poor DH is already asking me if I'm ready to quit yet. :p NOT!
We were laying in bed the other night.......and he said....you know you haven't told me about some great deal that one of the cruiselines is having in a few hours now!!!! I sold 4 last week. And was just full of myself. Nothing better than finding a great deal for someone else.
My fax, my phone and my computer are running non-stop. Thank God I changed my long distance to Costco.
Lynette is still lurking though and periodically she lets me know what is going on. I'm trying like the dickens to be on that boat with the rest of you. I miss all of the new friends that I met, and can't wait to meet the ones that I haven't.
Talk to you all soon..........

Mike and kathy......how is DD?

Rellingtwin.......wish we could have met up while I was in South Carolina. I'm trying to finagle a way to get back........LOL

smiles Patty

Hang in there Patty. DD1 is still visiting doctors and is doing a little bit better. DD2(the prego)as I call her, is doing great. Just hurling once or twice a day now:D

Kathy and I have been busy. I am keeping her maytag neptunes humming and we are looking forward to the cruise.

We have to go visit her brother in Alabama tomorrow. He had a light heart attack the other night. They have him stabilized and are doing an arteriorgram(sp) tomorrow. If I can get everyone healthy at the same time that would be great. No more country ham and biscuits for him.

Have to run, belly is growling. My bib overalls are in the washer and it is dinging at me. Mike

Howdy gang! How are all of you? Ready for the start of another week I hope.

Patty, it sounds like things are going great, but CARAZY! Will make your next cruise all that more special cause you will have a real need to RELAX! And does DH's comment mean he is ready to cruise again?????

Speaking of next cruise....we wanted to squeeze in a four day before the seven day 9/28...and DH has to take a week of vacation before May, so we kicked around possible weeks....trying to decide...I watched the boards to see which weeks would be good. Due to his job, we could only go in Feb or April. So....after MUCH research we decided to take the last week of April, and maybe catch the April 28th four day. BUT OBVIOUSLY I DIDN"T DO ENOUGH RESEARCH.....a week after we picked our week, I saw it. April 28th, the Nick and Aaron Carter Cruise. UGH! ICK! I do not want to be on that ship that week! So, I told Joe that settles it...we'll just have to do a seven day in April AND September! :)

Did I tell you guys that our best friends are going in March and they are in a Cat 3, a one bedroom suite, and its a handicapped room. I can hardly wait to hear all the details about concierge service, the HUGE room, ordering Palo's for room service, etc.!

Not much else is going on here. DD is potty trained!!!!! (Makes me miss diapers!! THey were so easy!) ANd now we are pumping her full of chocolate milk to put the weight on so her pants will stay up!

Papa...shouldn't your DD be headed for the home stretch of no-more-morning-sickness about now? Well, who am I to speak..I was throwing up in my 8th month! :) Hope the same isn't true for her!

RellingTwin....DH was in Hilton Head over Sept 11 playing golf. He saw the Disney Resort and said it was beautiful. He mentioned he would like to go back there and stay there. I know it is no amusement park, but do they have character stuff around? Are there character meals? Have a great time!

Okay, I hope everyone has a great week!!!!!

Hi everyone,
Gosh, it has been so long since I got on the boards that I nearly forgot how.

No, it seems that DD2 is not on the home stretch of no more morning sickness. Last Monday I went to her apartment to help her with the baby's room and she needed to go to the store for some supplies and while being approached in the parking lot by a guy asking for money, she nearly got me in a hurling accident. ;) I told her next time to turn around and get the guy asking for money. :D The sad thing was I didn't have any money on me, just checks and one nauseated daughter who had not eaten breakfast.

No, I haven't gotten any bibs done for Katie yet but we are going today to look at mattresses for the baby bed that her MIL is getting for them. I am going to try to get a nice little dresser/changing table for Katie.

Mike and I have never been to Hilton Head and it really sounds nice. I hope when I retire that we are able to travel some.

My brother had a heartattack last week and yesterday I was able to go to see him after they got him back from his arterial gram (?) and they put a stint (?) into the coronary artery to keep it open. I am not an adult nurse and we don't do cardiac nursing in the NICU I work in so I am not up to speed on what is wrong with my brother. I do know that the 3 or 4 biscuits a meal and smoking are out. No more fried chicken or fried anything else. His wife is a wonderful cook and has been trying to change his eating habits for years. He is just stubborn. I got angry with him yesterday and nearly told him to just go on home and not waste nurses time when he refused to quit smoking and was trying to pull off the ekg leads. He pulled one off and I snapped it back on. (He said they weren't monitering him.) That unit was so busy that I just wanted to smack him. :( Brothers! Take care, Kathy

Hey 09/28 group. Hope that everyone is doing well and made it through ground hog day ok. I saw my shadow, so does that mean six more weeks of winter?

Need to dip my toes in some warm tropical sand. Cold here in Nashville today and we are supposed to get some snow. Come on September 28!!!!!!!!!!!

we be freezing here in Idaho.

sorry to hear about your brother. When it rains it pours, doesn't it. Glad to hear that things are turning out okay for him.

I wish the stuff that tasted good, wasn't so fattening...huh.

just checking in. Still been hectic in our household.

smiles Patty

Hey Patty,
We are expecting some snow here in Nashville tonight. Last week it was 73 degrees. Last night is was 17. Go figure. Kathy's brother is doing fine, DD1 is better and DD2 is not hurling this week. Things are going great.

Looking forward to the cruise and hearing the sound of the waves lapping against the hull on the verandah. Kathy pops in a video tape every now and then that she recorded of the waves and the deep blue sea. Mike

Greetings from the Olympics. We are gearing up for all of the crowds and it makes me very happy to be telecommuting. We went downtown last Saturday and it was a mad house. We took the commuter train and every station was packed. But I was glad we didn't drive because the traffic was worse. I just hope we don't end up having to pay a lot more in taxes. It is kind of fun seeing all the international press. They all have passes around their neck that are about 5 by 7. Pretty hard to miss.

My name is GoofyDisney, and I have a problem.

Not to make light of such a serious thing, but I think I am truly addicted. We went to WDW three times last year. We went on a Disney Cruise. At Christmas, we went to Disneyland. On New Years Day, we went to Grand Rapids to see Beauty & the Beast IMAX. Two weeks ago, we went to Grand Rapids to see Disney on Ice Jungle Adventures. At the end of the month, we are going to Detroit to see Disney on Ice Toy Story 2. And I am trying to plan a trip to WDW and a cruise before summer. I think I have a problem.

It may take an intervention. Preferrably, by all of you, aboard the Disney Magic, tomorrow, around the Mickey Pool.

Anyone willing to help a friend in need? Anyone? Anyone?

TG - I am so excited for you! Trafic aside, the Olympics is such a fun, fun time. SIL is going with her boyfriend, who lives in SLC, to three events. They are so excited. I remember the games were in Atlanta, and my best friend from college lived there and said the city was just ELECTRIC! How fun. Are you going to see any events? Any of them near where you are? ANyone in particular you are rooting for?

Patty & Papa - We also are willing to share snow also. And rain and ice and more snow. We are having this wierd thaw-freeze-thaw-freeze thing happening that is just propulgating colds and viruses and pneumonia. What a mess we are all up here.

RT - shouldn't you be leaving for HH soon?

DD has had a cold-runny nose-cough this whole week and is getting better. But her nose has been red due to wiping and running. Then this morning, she took a header into this little chair of hers and hit her nose. She scraped it and got clocked square across the bridge of her nose. So, it was red before, now it is scraped and bruised. She looks like a prize fighter. Bruised nose and heading toward her eyes, and the area is all puffy. I know it is not broken, but it is gonna hurt for a while!

Anyone want to meet in Topsiders for lunch?

GoofyDisney

Hi to all my Dis friends! Long time no talk to! I've been having a lot of trouble signing on to the boards, don't know what's been happening there, but I'm sure glad to have found you all again. Papa, have we lost our 9/22 thread? Couldn't locate it. Just a quick update, I'm still working for newspaper, but still looking for work. Dgdtr, Hannah, is now 3 mos old! She's still perfect in every way, truly our little princess. Kathie & Myra say to tell everyone ''Hi''. Special thanks for all the wonderful Dis gifts at the holidays. We have memories that will make us smile forever! I envy those of you going again this year! DH is having surgery on cervical spine (don't know date, yet...sees surgeon again on Monday), so travel is going to be low on the priority list for us this year. Just wanted to stop in to say "Hey'' :pinkbounc Have a great day!
