Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday!

It is the first day of spring and they are talking winter storm warning and snow for tomorrow. Yikes!

A great big thank you to Robin for doing all this research for us. I'm sure we'll find something that works out even if we are all meeting by the wiener wagon at the Boardwalk. :lmao:

Good morning.

No word from catering yet, but they said it might be today or tommorrow before I heard anything. I will keep you update as info become available.

Based on everyones requests, I am going to try for something off-park in the Epcot/Boardwalk area. That way those that want to go to Epcot afterwards can, and those who don't can wander the Boardwalk.

Right on Robin thats sound like the ticket.
There are a lot of nice places to eat around there the Steak House in the Yaught Club,Cape May Cafe at BCV. ESPN Club for lighter fare, also The Big River Grille.
In that way the ones who want to go on the Fireworks Cruise can,and the ones who want to go watch Eluminations can.

We do get 20% DVC discount at the Swan/Dolphin restaurants for another possible option.

I have never been to the Swan or dolphin. What is there?

We've never eaten at Swan or Dolphin either but we'd be up to trying something new.

I'm guessing disney won't steer us near the swan and dolphin.
Also I'd prefer a disney restaurant since they are good with food issues, etc.

Good morning everyone! TGIF!

They are still saying Winter Storm Warning for us but no snow yet and if it stays away I'll be happy.

Happy Birthday Monika (Time4disneynow)!:cake:

Oh Mary - I hope the snow stays away for you! I have a student headed to Chicago today (we are off today - yippee!) and I heard this morning that there was snow headed that way - I am ready for spring. I am also ready to hear what the theme of our cruise is and who the guest speakers will be! I am excited!

On the member cruises is there a formal night? Is formal dress as opposed to say, cocktail dress required? What about at Palo's? I've looked at several sources to find these answers, but of course, none of them include member cruises.

Happy Friday to all! I sort of got two Fridays this week - yesterday at school was like aFriday since we all knew we had today off.

I can't wait to see what the theme is and who the guests are as well. I wish DVC would at least tell us the theme!

Traditionally on the 4 night cruises there isn't a formal night. Last year on the Member Cruise they did have one based on an after dinner party call the Legends Ball. In my opinion it was the most disorganized part of the whole cruise and if they don't have something like that again I'd be just as happy. All the guests and the lectures etc were great but this kind of fell flat.

So, do the powers that be announce whether there will be a formal dinner well ahead of time or are you saying it was disorganized because it was last minute?

No they announced it ahead of time but not too far ahead so people who already had outfits planned most did not change to something more formal. The event itself was disorganized and basically had people standing around the atrium for 1/2 hour or more waiting for the Legends. When they finally did come out it was kind of anti-climatic. Didn't have the feel of a "Ball" to me. Still the rest of the cruise was so great it didn't really effect us one way or the other. I'm just saying they could do without planning something so formal.

I understand. I don't think there is much that could really ruin a Disney cruise for me. I just love Disney too much!

With regards to the dinner options on the night before the cruise. I think tikimimi and I would be happy even having dinner at one of the DVC resorts - we have never been to either boardwalk or beachclub.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. The cruise will be amazing, dinner before can be simple if desired (of course, amazing dinner is OK too!)
