wish all of you didn't have to go back to work - but I know it will be good to get back into a regular routine.

Mary, know what you mean about getting there early - I hate being late and even on time is not good for me. I am always the first one there usually or walking in with someone. good for you.

Dan and Nan - get rid of that awful cold - seems like forever when we have them. I got my free flu shot at the hospital recently.

It is COLD here. getting down to 38 tonight. for us, that is horrid. :scared1. guess the weather is getting me ready for the snow in SLC this month. But my daisy dukes and sleeveless shirt will keep me warm, I am sure

this is very interesting: rec'd it from a friend yesterday: I'm moving somewhere - :rotfl2:

I am almost hesitant to post this after the food post. The last picture of the family living on rice and grains make you realize how good we have it.

I need a vacation from my 4 day weekend. We spent the Entire weekend shopping for a new car. Our crew cab truck was no longer cutting it. Our almost 13 year old was getting too big to ride in a jump seat. We were searching for something with 4 doors. After a grueling two days of dealing with dealership, we finally went to CarMax on the third day. The dealers were really messing with our trade-in value and I knew CarMax would buy my truck. Our plan was to sell the truck and go back and buy the 2008 Ford Escape. While they were appraising my car, I decided to test drive a low-mileage used Explorer which was less money than the Escape cost. It really drove nice, so I called hubby at work to come drive it. Well while waiting for him, DS saw a Jaguar and wanted me to test drive it. I laughed, told him there was no way I was buying a Jag, something had to be wrong with it. Well to shorten an already long story, after a little trip to Edmunds.com to check value, we now have a low-mileage 2003 Jaguar x-type in the garage for $2,000 less than a 2008 Ford Escape.

Mary - Oh the kids and myself go back to school on the 7th. I hate to say it but I am actually ready. It can get a little boring without anything to do and having them 24 hours a day.

Dan and Nan-
Hope you all feel better soon!

The food thing is really crazy. Of course if we ate a lot of fresh produce it would be a bit costly. More than the other countries spend I am sure.

My house guests are finally leaving, I don't mind but after a while you just like to have your house back and your own routine back.

I think Nanc and I are feeling almost normal.
Sorry I didn't reply yesterday Mary .For some reason my in box showed no replies from the board. Maybe it will work now. My last reply was from Kay on 12/24. From there I couldn't find the new threads?
Well enought of that we just got back from having our pass port pictures taken. So this afternoon we will take the nest of the paper work to our Town office so our applications can be processed.
I hope you and Mark had a great Holiday. Say hi to Mark.

dan -
I haven't been getting any e-mail notifications either. I always check from time to time anyways. Maybe there is a glitch since the new servers went in.

cobbler - do you have a local farmer's market? we have one here and I can save money if I get veggies there.

I love all farmer markets. But their prices for a couple of years now is not any better than the supermarkets.

The naval oranges on the Florida Turnpike stops are the best ever. Prices there are very reasonable also. Same with the large tomatoes. I love getting them and making a tomato sandwich.

We have one farmers market that is open year round that the prices are more than the supermarkets. The rest are Late spring/summer/early fall open markets usually at the parks (we got 5-8 inches of snow this weekend)

I think everyone will have to reset the instant notifications, mine were unchecked when i just checked them.

Amanda

Amanda: I had already went in and looked at mine. They are all the same and needed no changes. Maybe it will be cleared up shortly. I have all my threads that I read in "my favorites" and have them available always so I don't worry about it too much. But it is a pain when it doesn't work. Things could be worse, so it is OK  :headache:

As a side note, my Shelby does not have a cancerous growth on her neck. It is benign. But we are going to have it taken out anyways 'cause it is so large and it might interfer with her breathing down the road. Gonna have it done while I am on my cruise and in SLC w/Linda so I that will help with extra boarding days. The Dr. can always get in touch with me, as my home phone rings on my cell when I am away. What a relief.

Hope everyone is having a great day. It is ccoolldd here ---------

To be honest I have no idea. That is something my husband and I have decided we are going to do this year. Especially with all the imported food from other countries that can slip past the FDA with some of the diseases/whatever. Plus we can support the local farmers too. We plan on planting our own little garden once we get our yard under control too.

We did once come across a local strawberry market and they were almost double what was sold in the supermarket so it's really hard. Guess we will have to do some serious looking around to find something reasonable too.

When did they put in the new server?Am I the only one not receiving new threads?
Mary responded to mine but the only way I knew was when I logged in. What can be done?

if I'm not mistaken, I think the new servers went in last Friday, maybe on Thursday. The Boards were down for about 10 hours or so but it was during the evening, so many people might not have know about it.

They were also down for about 5 or 10 minutes yesterday while they worked on a problem.

I know they are very, very slow right now. I almost didn't get my responses to the b/day wishes done today.

For some reason the last post posted itself twice. So there is definitely a glitch somewhere. I posted a b/day wish and it posted 3 times also. I didn't do either one of them 2 or 3 times. So I am posting over this one.

I fell asleep before 7 pm and just woke up. Must have been tired or something.

Good morning everyone! I do believe the e-mail notification malfuntion is part of the new servers and the webmasters are aware of it. I've never used the e-mail notification as some of the threads I've been involved with in the past had so many posts that if I left it on I'd come home to 100 e-mails. :) They didn't call us the blabbermouths for nothing.

The best thing to do is subscribe to threads you want to follow. Just click on thread tools above and hit subscribe. You don't even have to post to a thread to subscribe to it. Then anytime you want to check on your subscribed threads just click on User CP on the bar at the top of the page and it will bring them up.

Hope that helps.

all of that is in place, Mary, and I still don't get e-mails from any threads so far. Hopefully it will be worked out eventually. I have plenty of time to access them thru "my favorites".

Know some people rely on the e-mails and for them that might make a difference.

Hope everyone has a great day. I am off to thaw out. Guess Mother Nature is preparing me for SLC - so I won't be shocked when I arrive

HI Mary
Thanks for the info .I went into thread tools there is no subsribe only un subscribe and print.
What I ended up doing is putting it in my favorites that seems to work. I don't know why subscribe doesn't show up?
I hope they fix the problem.
Well enough of that Mary.anc and I made our flight resivations this morning. We are flying out of Logan in Boston 9/15/2008 returning 9/26/2008. We will be staying at OKW from the 15 to the 21st then cruise and come make to OKW for one more day. So I guess you would say we are all set to go .
Our flights are non stop which I prefer. We leave Logan 8:15 AM and arrive at Orlando at 11:15 with any luck we should be at the world by 12:30.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Morning all! I do the same thing. I used to susbscribe, but that got way out of control! I catch up on my reading and then bookmark to my favorites so I pick up where I left off. It's too hard trying to get track of where I am at otherwise!

Have a great rest of the week!

The email service for notifications of new replies to subscribed threads, pm's or such has been offline since the switch to the new servers, it should be back up very shortly.
