I apologize if this has been asked & answered (I still have a ton of pages to read) -- does anybody know if there will be any "special" nights -- like a formal night or a Pirate night?

They do a Pirate night (we are guessing Monday) but not normally a formal night. Last year they attempted a Formal night and it didn't go over well with some cruisers.

Last year we did one of those "I can't believe we're able to do this - once in a lifetime" trips for Christmas. Before my knees couldn't do it anymore, we took the kids skiing in Colorado. (We taught our kids to ski on our "family-moon" so skiing has always been special to us) and now, while I would love to cruise at Christmas, the kids are begging to spend that money in Colorado if we ever get to do anything that big again. They love to cruise, but they really enjoyed skiing out west.

I love to ski, We have only done it twice as a family. school just always got in the way.

Me too. Helps that Rheya is still up. I think we all have Disney on the brain. For me that's normal though.

Just so everyone knows, as soon as the last MNSSHP is over, they start changing the parks over to the Christmas/Holiday decor. Last year we stayed after the cruise (it was October) and they had started to decorate MGM (Disney Studios) then.

Off to bed here too. I did get out our snorkel gear tonight to check and make sure it was still usable - our last cruise when we used it was in 2004. It is fine and will be packed! I need to fix it so I can teach online and be home each day getting pirates, chatting with my new friends, and planning DIS trips!

The double time and bonus day off were sweet when I was in the newroom.

After 10 years in News and 6 and a half of those Being a Photographer and SAT operator, I can say I haven't missed working holidays. I do miss TV however. That is why I still freelance as often as possible. I may go back one day, but I needed to step back away from that for a while. If I could get enough money doing freelance I might just do that and not work at the college....

Where were you in News and what did you do? If me and my husband move to Orlando like we are supposed to I might consider getting back into it. Like I said I miss it, but I was the go to person for everything and I needed a break....

I haven't had a chance to catch up on everything here, but did notice someone talking about the 2.5 gal bags.

On our last couple trips I used a huge XXL Hefty ziploc bags (I think they are like 13 gallon or something like that) as a laundry bag. It's sturdy enough to stand up in the closet, so you can just throw your dirty clothes in. Then when you go home, if you push all the air out you can compress your dirty clothes into a small, compact bundle. And more importantly, the ziploc keeps your dirty clothes from stinking up your clean clothes on the way home.

I still haven't unpacked from the last trip, but I want to work on that tonight. At least I have all day Saturday to finish up before we fly out on Sunday.
