09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008 - Part 2!

Question for all of you who have done the Member Cruise before-
I know we get a bunch of gifts on the member cruise (is it true I need to bring another bag?), but if we are Castaway Club members, do we still get that gift as well?
Not that I am tryin to be greedy for gifts, just curious!

Yes, you also get a CC gift. Last year it was a mesh bag with cups and lids, hand sanitizer and somethnig else I can't remember.

Last year we got a duffle bag for all the dvc goodies.

Thanks! I was planning on bringing an extra small bag, but wanted to know if that is normal to do on these sailings. I see everyone talk about "bring a bag" and "there is so much stuff", so I wanted to know for sure.

Both in the party will receive all kind of gifts. When you arrive when you first board they will be on your beds in your cabin and each day you will receive a gift. I hope this info helps

Yes we get a lot of stuff. I think they only do it for the Members Cruise because all the gifts we get is symbolic of the cruise and as said in last post we also get a gift bag of useful things when we get to Castaway. IE Mesh bags Chap stick. Things that will come handy on the beach. I hope I have helped you.

Ok I was just testing to see who actually reads my posts. Seriously - I do a quote and paste and was so busy writing about the buttons forgot to change the countdown. Bad me.

Dan - sorry I did see that and forgot to respond. Thanks for the offer. Not much to set up really. Just the DIS sign and to lay out the button packets. We usually show up about 10-15 minutes early and with staying at Beach Club this year that should be even easier. You guys are more than welcome to stop by early as is everyone!

You will definitely get a lot of goodies. Seems every year there is at least one larger item, last year it was the throws. You will get a CC gift as well. Here is the current one we got in April:

3 weeks from now we should be either at the port or very close. I'm getting excited. Still a lot to do between now and then. I've been putting off finishing up our FE gifts but they are on the agenda for today. Dan I'll also get that picture out to you today. Need to save it to a format I can e-mail. This is not a bad thing!!! I can't wait! Now the question is - where is the nearest mailing place between the port and the airport, so we can ship our goodies back home? We don't want have to pay to check an extra bag.

If you are going back to WDW after the cruise I know several people have shipped items home from the resorts. Especially ones with business centers.

There is a UPS store in Cocoa Beach which would probably be the easiest for you to get to if you were then heading right to the airport:

Thanks Mary! Perfect! Sadly, Mack and I both have to work on Friday (and for me, it is only half day then the very next week is fall break - the whole week off school), so we are headed to the airport after we leave the ship. Sadness.

Yay! We leave in 19 days! Then it's cruise and 3 days in the park afterwards. I'm soooo excited. Trying to get DH to agree to go back at the end of Feb. for the Carolina Panthers Fan event but because we are going at the end of Mar. and cruising again next June he's not biting just yet. The end of the months are usually very busy for him at work. Can't complain though...still got 2 more trips to plan. Nervous about doing a regular Disney cruise though as we've onlyl done Members Only so far. But either way it's DISNEY! I'll have fun!

Too funny, I know who it is. I guess I have to wear a different t shirt on sail away day this year. That is my favorite spot to watch the sail away. It's in the shade and when you sit on the railing your can see over every one.

Happy Sunday all. Our inter net has been down all morning.

We had a really bad rainstorm last night. It was one of the outer bands. It only lasted about 30 minutes. The evacuees are coming this way, the roads were packed this morning.

I wish every one luck over in that direction.

Good Afternoon.... I have been the laziest person today. I have worked like a billion hours of OT the last few weeks and so I am really in need of a do nothing day. It's great... ... Only 3 more weeks!!! WOW!!! It seems like we booked this trip forever ago. I can't wait!!!!

FE Gifts are done! I made 60 so I should have enough for everyone on the list (including the two late entries) as well as a few more.
