Happy Birthday Katie.
HolidayWorld started its life back in the 40s or 50s as Santa Claus Land in Santa Claus, IN. It has evolved over the years to include sections for other major holidays - 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Halloween.
They have alot of the traditional fair type ride - bumper cars, Giant Swings, tilt-a-whirl, etc. But the thing that gets them noticed is everytime they build a coaster, it gets ranked #1 by Amusement Today's Golden Ticket Award. They currently have three wooden rollercoasters. The Raven, The Legend (of Sleepy Hollow) and the Voyage. The newest, the voyage, recieved the golden ticket for best wooden coaster in 2007 and is expected to take the honor again this year. It is in the top 5 for hangtime and lenght of ride. Even the Raven (now in its 8th year) is ranked the #7 wooden coaster in 2007
In addition to HolidayWorld proper, the park is connected to Splashin' Safari. The #2 water park in the nation with 23% of the vote (beaten by Schliterbahn with 43% of the vote). Blizzard Beach was #3 with 9% of the vote. Typhon Lagoon tied with Noah's Ark for 4th place with 4% of the vote. It also has the Golden Ticket award for best new Waterpark ride. One admission ticket buys you entrance to both parks and you can go between them at leisure. The slides at Splashin' Safari are awesome and numerous.
One day admission is about $40 for both parks one day and $60 for two days. but usually there is a promotion to get a discount with a pepsi can or bunny bread wrapper. We paid $25 per ticket with a group of 15.
Also great perks of going to HW/SS are Pepsi products are FREE, Parking is FREE, Sunscreen is FREE. Also PArk Food is not expensive. I bought two large pizzas, 4 cheeseburgers w/fries, and 2 hotdogs and fries - this fed 5 adults, 7 teens and 2 children for only $60. That is about $4.28 per person. Heck I can't buy McDonalds for that price.
It is the lower SE (ish) part of Indiana. It is located 3 hours north of Nashville and 30 minutes north of Owenboro, Ky. Not sure about other places. You can find more info on the web including all the other Golden Tickets they have won - including cleanest park for the past 8 years.
If you have a scout troop that needs a "fun" trip. You can camp in nearby Lincoln State Park and drive 5 miles to the park.
