09/21/08 SSMC08 S.S. Member Cruise 2008 - Part 2!

Some cruises we never watch any movies because they conflict with other things. Other times we have watched a couple. I think on our April cruise we ended up watching 3 of them.

I remember back on our first Member Cruise back in 2003 we opted to stay on the ship the first morning at CC to take a tour of the ship by an Imagineer (awesome) and see Treasure Planet. We got out in time for lunch on the island and some relaxing time in our lounge chairs on the family beach. This was in February and we weren't going in the water. A little too cold for our taste.

Plus many of us have sailed DCL before and will skip some of the regular nighttime shows in favor of some down time like a movie. Now the special shows I won't be skipping at all!

Last year Annette just had to see underdog so we decided to go to cc laste and we caught the end of the unedited disneyland movie they were doing. Well we sat down next to one of the legends in the theather not realizing it because it was dark. Then Richard Sherman sat 2 rows ahead of us to watch underdog. I guess you just never know what shows people want to see. We saw him everywhere and once Annette was singing the tiki song as we passed him (she didnt realized he was walking towards us until we were passing him). Annette tends to be singing something whenever were walking around.

I guess we will have to see how it goes. But with all that is planned, who is going to have time. Did everyone hear about what is going on with Park West Gallery? I do not know how everyone else fells about this, but I say take them off the ships.

so much for working today. Im hanging with my niece instead.I guess it just means going in early tomorrow or later today

What is going on? We've bought several things from them during other cruises including a pooh movie cell.

Good news! I just heard back from Andy (aka Verandah Man) and he's going to try and do some screen captures for us next week. Andy has done some great screen captures for me for past cruises and they always make a nice addition to the scrapbook. I gave him the link to the live thread so check there upon your return.

Thanks Andy!

PDFG and all our friends who need it!

Ok all, I have another first timer question. Can someone tell me what the dress code requirements are for Palo Brunch and the requirements for Palo Dinner? Thanks, DW is out buying some items for the cruise and if we need to dress up for Palo at Dinner she wants to buy something else to take. :goodvibes

Palo brunch is cruise casual so capris and a nice top or a sundress for her and dockers/polo shirt for you.

Palo dinner is a bit more formal. A nice dress or dressy pant suit for her and dress pants, dress shirt and tie for you. Some men opt for dress shirt and jacket without tie as well. You don't have to go ultra formal. I would say dress as if you were going to a nice (not super formal) wedding.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I was getting this one right.

Hi Mary :wave2:

Is there a special place where you guys usually meet inside the port terminal? Or can we figure that out at the Meet next week? I know I'm going to be very excited :yay: while we wait to board so I want to hang out with other people who are excited too! Thanks!

We usually try and meet over by the couches. Depends on how early we'll get there but Mark and I will have our DIS meet sign with us.

BTW that little fellow in the back is Bear who travels with us. Some of you know the story but most don't. To read it click here.

We will see you by the couches if I can pull Frank away from the ship model!

That's such a great story Mary! Mark and Bear obviously took good care of you! Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure we'll find each other. I'll be wearing my lime green DIS t-shirt, probably with one of my many DVC caps.:thumbsup2

We'll be in our lime green Castaway Cay t-shirts for the meet Saturday. We'll be in our 2006 DIS Member Cruise shirts (shown in the pictures above) for Sunday.

Thanks! Bear will be in the button bag at the port so I figured people should know why a 51 year old woman carries a stuffed bear on the ship with her. :dogdance:
