09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011)

Thank you! We were looking to grab some new LL Bean duffels (with wheels). I was trying to convince the wife we are ok with our current stuff but I guess y'all pushed me over the edge. Between that and her purses ... groan..

don't need to bring any purses, buy the limited edition Dooney and Burke on board...

Ok, I keep hearing we need an extra suitcase for the gifts (DVC members only cruise ones). From what I am reading these gifts are this seems to be a bit overboard, (maybe a small carry on?). Asking the experts!

That all depends on how many souvenirs you buy and if you plan on participating in the FE, too. If you have an extra regular size suitcase then you don't have to worry about cramming things into a smaller carry on. And who knows how extravagant DVC is going to get with the gifts this year since it's the innaugural year of the Dream AND DVC's 20 year anniversary. (All I know is that they BETTER have more DVC gifts on this one...the hints that the DVC reps gave made it sound as if it's going to be the best one yet, and that's what convinced us to book it!)

For the last couple of members cruises....Michael and I ship our FE gifts and assorted things to the port. By the time we get into our cabin, our box is there waiting for us. Also...this past members cruise, we shipped our FE gifts and gifts we bought home through the business center at the Boardwalk. We also found out that The Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian and the Yacht Club all have business centers. We shipped the package the Friday after the members cruise. It arrived at our house 5 days later. I am glad we did that and we'll do that again next members cruise.

Debbie...we brought packing tape with us. Michael got the box from the business center.

I just checked the paper from the business center....shipping services via Federal Express, UPS and USPS. Once we had the box packed, Michael took it back to them and they did all the labeling etc.

There have been rumors for awhile but they really started to peak earlier this year because sources were saying that apple was building an iPhone capable of running on a CDMA network as well as the edge network. Forgive me all the techies out there if I got the name of the networks wrong but the premise is still the same. AT&T uses the Edge network and verizon the CDMA. AT&T has had an exclusive right to sell the iPhone. The rumor is that verizon will sell a less capable iPhone version, let's say the 3GS instead of the iPhone 4. This way it keeps AT&T happy because they will have the latest and greatest and verizon will be happy because they finally get the iPhone. Most of all, Apple will be happiest because millions of more units will be sold!! Buy stock now if you can afford it!

We will be getting 2 IPhones within the next 2 weeks. We can't wait. We will get them just in time for our November trip to WDW. F&W Festival, here we come.

I saw your pic's you posted of your anniversary cruise and that little suitcase full of stuff really got me thinking , uh oh need more storage! I can't imagine the kids reaction to the gifts, heck I can't imagine mine!
