09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011)

How old are your kids? I have two boys (will be 16 and 14 at time of cruise).

It's so much fun!! Do you do digital scrapbooking too?

I've never done or even looked at digital scrapbooking before, but it sounds like an interesting idea. I am currently finishing up a regular scrapbook from a cross-country roadtrip I just went on.

It's so much more fun and so much less of a mess!! I print everything at Costco and I just started making photobooks out of what I do too. They come out beautiful and they make great gifts!!

This is one that I did a long time ago but it's a Disney one that I had already on the internet.

It's fun because you can journal so many feelings and memories that when you go back to look at them all those memories come flooding back. I highly recommend getting into it!!

For SSMC09, I had an entire large suitcase devoted to the FE gifts. My thought was that I was told I would need an extra suitcase to bring all the gifts back so it made sense. For our FE gifts, my DD decided on sand dollars that we decorated with a tiny lime green ribbon and attached the Legend of the Sand Dollar story. We also made gift bags for the kids and put everything in a Disney Halloween bag. We had one bag per room.

By the time we had to pack it all I was like . Where are we going to put all of this? The kids were in our stateroom when we had to get everything out and deliver. It really was a lot of fun and the kids were really in to it. People saw us coming down the hall with all these halloween bags and were asking us where they could buy one. Great time!!!

If you go to the first page and first post of this thread, there is more information about them and how to sign up for the exchange. If you go to page 51 of this thread and look at post #762, DVC Deernut (Ian) posted some pictures of some from a previous cruise. They are the nicely decorated strips of material with pockets to the side or on the doors.

Hi everyone, I too am trying to keep up with all the posts and it is very hard to do. DH tries to catch up every morning before work and every night. It's so much fun reading all the posts. I have to ask, and I really feel like we should know what they are, but what are the FES?

FEs is the exchange of fun gifts which are delivered thru out the Cruise to each Stateroom that decides to particapate ......... The fun is getting the gifts to each cabin without being caught and the fun of returning to your room and finding something in your FishExtender ................ Here is a picture of our hanging on the "Fish" hook outside the cabin ...................

I'm not sure if this affected us becasue we secured our cabin late, but I was glad I confirmed my reservation in the Disney Cruise line system. I entered my reservation number in the DCL systems and they showed us booked for a 3day Carribean Cruise leaving 9/1.

I called DVC yesterday and they confirmed there was an issue. They called me back today and said it happens every year and they hold back some cabins as a result. Long story short, we are still on the cruise, but in a different cabin on the same deck.

So I would suggest confirming your reservation.

That looks so cute! I can see how much cleaner and easier it would be. It would also be A LOT less expensive, seeing as how I just spend $92 getting pictures developed. I'm going to have to look into this further. Thanks

Hi Marsha-hope all is well. I was wondering if you have any pictures of Charles & Molly ? In preschool they are talking about friends and how great it is to meet and make new friends. Kerri [DD] told me Molly was telling her classmates about meeting Charles and Mickey[mouse]. I thought that Molly would really get a kick out of a picture of the two of them together-to post on her classrooms "friends board".

It can get expensive spending money on digital scrapkits but overall it's much cheaper since you can reuse everything over and over again and there is no cutting and pasting

Hi Michele, I know you'll love the FE and their little gifts. They are alot of fun and just add another bit of excitement to this cruise. Here is a picture of my FE (before I got all of my magnets on the door!)
