Is it worth spending all that $$$ on a macbook or iMac? Is it that much better than a PC? I'm in love with the Apple products I have now(2 iPhones, iPod touch, iPad2, & Apple TV) but I want some reassurance that I wouldn't be wasting my money.

I love it. It's SOOOO much faster than our PCs and windows laptops have been. I had a couple of programs that I had to run on Windows, so I set up a Windows installation through Mac's BootCamp. Now if I want to run Windows on my Mac, I just restart and hold down the "option" key. You can also run Windows programs on a virtual installation, but I wanted something very very stable for the programs I had to run.

What do you think of the Apple TV? I've though about it, but I don't think I can get all the shows I want to watch.

We pay almost $90 for our satellite and we don't even have HBO or other premium channels. Makes me crazy. I don't think it's worth the price, but Jason's happy paying it.

Are you vulnerable to the same virus' running windows on a Mac? I love the Apple TV. I get all my shows and movies for free so I can watch whatever I want. I highly recommend it. I can show you how to watch whatever you want. You'll need a couple programs but it's not that hard, you sound a lot more computer savvy than I so you should be fine.

We pay about the same and I have racked my brain on trying to bring that cost down. Streaming Netflix through Apple TV helps, but that's another monthly bill. I'm able to see shows from HBO and Showtime a day after they air with those programs so that helps. The only reason my Dish bill is so high is so I can get all the channels the kids watch. Otherwise I'd just get an antenna.

I imagine the windows installation can still get viruses. But, you can still run the same free virus and spyware programs on the windows install that you would on a PC.

Streaming Netflix through Apple TV helps, but that's another monthly bill.

We love Netflix. The kids stream through the PS3, Wii and XBox360 all the time. Jason and I do less streaming, but we love getting our movie fix through the mail.

Yeah, every night shortly after midnight (Pacific time) the boards down for a while. I think they must be backing up? It's annoying. I wish they'd do it at 2 or 3 am instead.
