Aw shucks we will miss you by a couple of weeks. We will be there Jan. 22 - 26. Meeting with the Disney wedding planner so it will be a working vacation. Hey anytime there is bonus time for us! :cutie:

We were on 88 yesterday (Sunday) and there was white out conditions. We intended to do some Christmas shopping but decided to turn around and get home before it got dark:scared1: Things only got worse as we got home and watched the Bears :confused3 Oh well now they may be hungrier for the next game.
I'm sorry we will miss you. :sad1:

Were you headed to the Premium Outlet Mall? I hate going there on weekends, especially right before Christmas! I love going there during the week when it isn't so crowded and parking is a snap. 88 can get quite nasty when it is snowing and blowing. I spend far too much time on that road... :headache:

Aww... You must be from Florida! Right now, I see it is 51 degrees there, which according to my calculations, is 37 degrees warmer than it is here! The wind is about the same in both places right now with it being 24 mph with gusts up to 36, which is pretty stiff no matter how you look at it! And our overnight low is supposed to be anywhere between -1 and -5. That is not going to be much fun in the morning...

Glad you had a good time! Can't wait to see the pics!

Yup, definitely Floridians. But with the wind it felt MUCH colder that night! Worse yet, the next day was EVEN colder!!! We are so not used to this :sad2:

Congrats on adding on!! You paid less than we did when we added on during the 2010 member cruise! That means they lied to us when they said there are NEVER better incentives to add on other than during the member cruise.:eek::eek:

Thank you :goodvibes WOW! I didn't know that  I am starting to think DVC guides are like bus drivers ... can't really believe everything they say  Half the time I think we have better information than they do. I asked the guide for the 2012 points to see how much we wanted to add on. She proceeds to tell me that those aren't out yet and won't be for some time :rolleyes1 I told her that, yes, they are and I could look them up online but my crackberry is very slooooowwww popcorn:: Yeah, she found them

Actually we were heading out to DeKalb to shop in that area. We made it to Peace Rd and decided to turn around and head home before it got dark. We came home on Rt.38, much better than the tollway.
My dd Katie works at that mall though. I'm very grateful she was off on Sunday.
Have a great day everyone!:yay:

Good evening everyone. I was just reading all the posts and have caught up. :thumbsup2
Anyway John we Mark and I think the room tours are a great idea. We can do the poker thing too, although we've never played. So we are in. After this weekend I have been thinking about warmer climates.
I hope everyone stays warm and safe.

Hi Lynn,
I believe you have the highest level room in the group. This is what I think you have:

Offered Room / Cat / inside (tot) / Pts / DCL's Stateroom Description / Poker? / Member(s) Name(s)
Room 12516 / Cat V / ~256 (299) / 241 / Concierge Fam StRm w/ Verandah / yes / mlholster (Mark & Lynn)

Just so I don't overstep my bounds, will your room be part of the tour?

Looks like Cat 4A is still open. Do you need a volunteer?

Yea, sure! I think this will be a good chance not only to see more of the new ship, but also to evaluate how each of us feels about the value of each room.
I think the Virtural Porthole room will be interesting for most of us. I also think the Family Rooms may come in handy when we travel with more people, because they are larger (and two bath, I think). Of course the Concierge Level will be delightful to visit. And everything in between, to see the level by level progression.
Happy to have you!

When we were able to get in, we took what was available. If we go on another cruise down the road, it will be hard for my husband and I to stay in a smaller room. Same as staying at the 2B BLT recently. I could have moved in there permanently. It is bigger than my son's 2B appt in Chicago which also has a lakeview. I have my big family party Sat so all the Indiana relatives will come up. Hoping the weather will cooperate. I am trying to keep busy and not have post Disney trip sadness. Had such a wonderful time even w/ cold Florida temps. Stay warm everyone. You can count us in for room tours.

Has anyone gone on any of the fireworks cruises? Was it worth the $$? We are talking about doing an Illuminations cruise after the member cruise. Anyone interested in splitting it?

For anybody who might be interested, or who wants to know what it is about, here is a clicky that will explain it. :teacher:

That sound interesting. I will shoot Lara an email, but she is still enroute to England, so no telling when I'll be able to get back with you. Go ahead and take "reservations" from anyone else interested, and if your boat fills up, we'll just do it next time.

I see, you're thinking about the Illuminations Cruise ($350, up to 10 people on pontoon boat).

I forget, Is Illuminations what they call the fireworks at the close of MK? If so it looks the same as Magic Kingdom Wishes Cruise (Premium). It's the same price, size, and says it does have the audio feed to the fireworks (unlike the Basic Cruise).

DONT YOU NEED SPECIAL KEY PASS TO GET ONTO CONCEIRGE LEVEL? THAT WOULD MEAN ONLY THEY CAN GET ONTO THAT DECK UNLESS WHO EVER WAS GOING UP THERE WAS WITH THEM. DONT THEY HAVE THEIR OWN SPECIAL LOUNGE AREA? I COULD BE WRONG. :confused3

Yep, I think all that is correct, Ian.
They would have to let us up to their floor, personally.

I can't imagine it would be frowned upon, even with a large group, because it has the potential to bring future customers to that level. Free advertising for DCL Concierge Level.

Illuminations is at Epcot and Wishes is at MK. We are open to doing either. It is just something we have never done and sounds intriguing.

Hey John! I hope everything is going well for you and all others who are reading my private conversation here... :rotfl:

My buddy John and I are interested in doing the tour also. I have a 5A on Deck 10 so that has already been taken multiple times. Should things fall through I am more than happy to offer my room with advance notice to put smelly laundry overboard:rotfl2:

Thanks for taking the lead on this, it sounds like it will be great fun and give me a chance to see what room I will request on my NEXT cruise. (Thinking a Concierge would be fitting to my stature in life, but not fitting with my budget in points :upsidedow)

Thanks Sue, I feel embarassed now. I used to insist we go to see Illuminations at Epcot to ring in the new year (and toast lovely bride on another year of wedded bliss).

Hmmm ... for Epcot you would miss the lighted globe and the country lights coming on, but would see an overall perspective rarely seen. For MK you would get the overall view with sound, but it would be similar to that visible from Bay Lake Towers (not from our room, but from the lounge deck). The pontoon won't be in the same bay as Illuminations is actually held, right? It's from a waterway outside the park, I'm pretty sure.

After all that, I came to the same conclusion as you. I don't care either, might be leaning toward Epcot though.

Sounds great Andy! I'll put you in the growing list of Alternate 5A rooms. If I have a lot to choose from, I may shift some rooms to reduce the amout of walking, with permission and assuming that I'm not deleting someone who really wants to show their room.

We have always taken the cheap cabins, since we don't spend much time there. But after we have a taste of the upper class rooms, I shudder to think what might happen.

LOL I decided that since this will be my first cruise I am "spoiling myself" with the veranda room. I do not expect to spend much time in it, however at the end of the night or early am, I think the veranda would be a nice way to start or end my day.

Ahhh yes the Verandah for warm evenings and morning sunrises. I hope I don't enjoy it too much, because this does cost a lot of points/money.

Don't forget about Mick's Food and Wine Club in the evenings and Sue's Sunrise Coffee Club, though.

Hey Erionm,

I thought you just made up your location: Longwood, FL. I thought, yea right, he's just bragging now. It sounds like a place I would make up, anyway. But I looked it up on MapQuest and it really does exist. My mistake.

Now back to our regularly schedule programming.

There has been quite a bit of interest in the Room Tour, so I’m posting the latest information.
