Hello everybody! I am back. Finished the series I was listening to and will now probably be experiencing withdrawals :sick:

On Saturday we were able to visit with Ian and Laura and their friends John and Sherry. We had an excellent time with everyone and hope they are enjoying their cruise. Ian surprised me with a very special gift and managed to horrify :scared1: and delight :lovestruc me all at the same time. This is a Christmas ornament he made but I think it needs to be displayed year round. I took pictures to show everyone and share.

I believe the leg in the shark's jaws may belong to Santa :eek:

This was the logo for the SSMC2010

Here are pics of Wally and I in our pirate gear with Pirate Mickey, Mickey Mouse and the captain's wheel at the port, our Fish Extender and our cabin door covered in magnets.

Here is the shark picture spot at Castaway Cay with a photoshopped pic of Wally and I at the DISmeet gathering the first day. I am wearing a t-shirt in Ian's honor that has a picture of a shark in a circle with a line through it and says "I hate sharks!"

Thank you Ian for the absolutely most perfect souvenir to commemorate the SSMC2010. Words would never be able to express how much it really means to me. Ian, YOU ROCK!!!!

What a nice gesture. Ian must be a real "chum " Our "jaws" dropped wih envy. With visions of our cruise "swimming" around in our heads I am "fin 'ished with the shark puns for now.:cool1:

Welcome back Terrie!!!

I was very very sad that you decided to ignore all of us and be so selfish. I would think that I was not alone in crying myself to sleep every night thinking that you no longer cared for us. Just the thought that we were replaced by a book is horrifying.

I like your Christmas decoration!

Thank you Andy for the welcome back :). Now, now ... I gave everybody fair warning that I had become obsessed with a series that was the equivalent of crack for me. I would call that thoughtful and not selfish. Please take comfort in the fact that I did not replace or abandon you for a mere book ...GASP... I would never. I replaced and abandoned all and sundry for 9 smokin' hot vampires that can rock any woman's world, leave her weak in the knees and short of breath. Surely you can't begrudge me that LOL. But I am back, well at least until March 29th when the next book in the series comes out :-)

Good idea on the laundry magnet

Thanks! :goodvibes I was thinking of a post it note at first, but those tend to fall off. And tape would be bad. Don't want to remove paint or leave residue. So, magnets came to mind.

Welcome back!! Love the gift from Ian! Saw the video of all the sharks congregating off your coastline there and thought of you this morning. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

So, question for all my fellow DVC members. I called and made my September reservations 10 days ago. There was some random error with their computer system which put the 16 points I had transferred to me into holding and they couldn't get them out. So, I'm now missing a night of our trip, which management has placed on hold for me. I've been assured that we have that night, but I'll feel better once my reservation shows ALL my dates. I called after three days to see what the status was and was told that IT had to fix it, but my date was still being held for me.

My question is, how much longer should I wait before I call again? I mean, it's been 10 days since the error occurred. What's reasonable? :confused3

Ummmmm, really??? ENOUGH time has passed. You should definitely call. I have read of this happening a few times now. Not sure why it happens, but it does. I do not think DVC will actually be calling you. You have to stay on top of these things, from what I hear. Good luck.

In a past life popcorn:: , I would use this opportunity to flounder around for a fish joke. But since I'm on a small perch, trying to recover from a haddock, I think that were I to even attempt to make a fish joke, I'd get run through with a pike. So all I can say is, the piece of cod, be with you all. :rolleyes1

GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY! Tip your waitress well. CD's and DVD's are available in the lobby! :banana: :banana: :banana:

Well, that's kinda how I feel about it. But, I thought maybe I was just being sensitive! :lmao:

I would call once a week until it is resolved.

Karen, in New York we tend to get things done and make sure they are done. I have a fairly polite NY approach to everything. Might I suggest you follow it?

Initial 3 days was a very nice amount of time to allow them to fix it. After that phone call, maybe I would give them 48 hours. Still not done? Call daily in the morning, ask when you can expect it to be done. Ask if there is anyone you should be speaking with to make it happen faster. Finally, ask their name, repeat it back to them to be sure you "have it right". When you say goodbye to CM, use their name and assure them that you will pass on how much help they have been when you write to management about this.

Regardless of the amount of time they tell you it will take, call tomorrow again and say that you spoke with CM (name) and wanted to ensure it was done. If not, ask their name, repeat back to them so you"have it right" and casually mention that you can't understand CM (name) not taking care of it. Ask when you can expect it to be done. Ask if there is anyone you should be speaking with to make it happen faster. Assure them that you will mention their helpfulness when you write to complain about CM (name), thank you CM (name2)

Repeat until it is done. If necessary, raise your voice a little to show irritation and say "this is NOT acceptable at all! Disney is supposed to MAKE dreams, not SHATTER them"

I think you have the idea. It is ok to not be "sweet and sunshine nice" you can still be firm and maintain politeness ;)

Terrie would call just once and won't let the CM off the hook until it was fixed :thumbsup2

Thanks guys! I'll follow up again with them tomorrow ... as long as I remember to call before 2:30! :laughing: Andy, you think I need to break out my Boston on them? :rotfl: Wally, I'll try the one phone call thing tomorrow. When I made my reservation it was 6 am here and I hadn't been to bed yet. After 45 minutes on the phone with her I was ready to gouge out my eyeballs.

Honey are you trying to say that I have no patience and want things done like yesterday :confused3 Yeah, that about sums it up :rolleyes1

DH and I know that if we want something remedied, to put me on the phone. I get stern and forceful to the point that they know I'm mad and want something done, but I make a point not to yell.

You know those teachers you had in school where you knew they were mad but didn't raise their voice? That's me.

Today is the 7 month window for Member's Cruise Eve! Just called Member's Service and booked BCV. I am so excited and this 7 months is going to fly by!

I know people have been checking airline prices so I thought I'd let you know: DH was able to book non-stop from Chicago to Orlando for our December trip for $99/pp each way.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

DVC must have felt my wrath a'comin! I woke up this morning, sat down with my bagel and cup of coffee to check email and finish waking up and found an email from them in my inbox. Everything looks right now!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

So, we have a 2 BR at OKW from 9/6 - 9/14 and then Country Inn and Suites booked on 9/14 - 9/15. Then on to the Dream 9/15 - 9/22

Now I just need to book my airfare and then book at Universal for two nights at the beginning of the trip and two nights somewhere (probably the Poly) for two nights after the SSMC. It's all coming together! :laughing:
