Good Morning Everyone!

Working most of the day, but DS is home sick again, so I will be checking in on him. Then off to see a play tonight at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia - "White Christmas". Friend of mine's husband plays in the pit and sometimes she asks me to go with her to opening. (They are DVC too)

Have a great day! :)

She has something called a "trigger thumb". Her right thumb basically doesn't straighten. It is easily correctable and common in children. It needs surgery though, basically because of future use of Lilly's hand. Fine motor will be hard for her if not corrected, etc.... Doc says only about a 10-15 minute surgery, but she will be out for it. Not too keen on my two year old being gassed. Oh well, I am sure it will go well. Wish us luck.:worship:

My daughter was born with a congenitally dislocated hip and had surgery at 5 months.. I agree so not easy for us parents. She came out of it fine and by supper was eating her whirled peas :) 24 years later the surgery is just a distant memory for me and a very faint scar for her :goodvibes

ONLY 13 DAYS UNTIL WE ARRIVE IN ORLANDO WITHIN A SHORT TIME OF EACH OTHER.:cool1: PERHAPS WE COULD MEET AT THE PIN STATION IN FRONTIERLAND DURING MICKEYS CHRISTMAS PARTY.

I COULD WEAR MY OFFICAL DISNEY CHRISTMAS HEADGEAR SO YOU COULD SPOT ME! OR ARRANGE FOR A DIFFERENT TIME AT PARTY. RIGHT AFTER PARADE I WILL BE LEADING THE OTHER 6 WITH US TO THE CIRCLE AREA INFRONT OF CASTLE TO WATCH THE FIREWORKS. I COULD HEAD BACK TO PIN STATION AFTER THAT IF I KNEW YOU WERE HEADING THERE.

:rotfl:Ian, That just might be a plan! I sent you a pm with the details etc.. I will see if I can post a picture of Jim and I so you can recognize us. I don't have any fancy headgear like you:confused3

That is correct. My husband and I are sailing with 4 other adults. we have 3 rooms next to each other. do not know their room numbers yet. I have been active on these boards for many years.. I will fill them in as it gets closer to the cruise. I get my daily Disney fix on these boards. always reading something but I don't post much but will have to start.
WE are leaving for Disneyworld on Dec.1 with the couple and their family that invited us on the dvc cruise.

:welcome:Sandy glad you are here! This is our first cruise so we are way way :yay:excited. We will be in WDW the 30th through the 5th.We are traveling with Jim's youngest 2 daughters (24 and 19) Planning on meeting up with Deernuts at MVMCP on the 3rd. Let me know if you would like to join in the fun!:yay:

Hi Friends. :)

Lilly did just great yesterday!! She came through the surgery fine....it was the coming down of the anestesia (SP??) that was a problem. She is such a little pistol....she did NOT like having an IV in her hand at all. She was trying to pull it out, screaming, and hitting all the nurses. It was embarrassing and heart-wrenching at the same time. She has a small wrap around her right hand and a few stitches. The wrap stays on for a few more days and stitches for a couple of weeks. Something funny though, she was given a "cocktail" before taking her back into surgery, and she was hilarious. She was smiling at the ceiling, babbling, and laughing. It was cute to watch. If Lilly ever chooses to drink in her future....when she is oh, let's see, 35, I know she will be a "happy drunk"!!! Just like her mommy.

Thanks for all the support, prayers, thoughts, and personal stories. They helped a lot. Can't wait to meet everyone!! By the way, I will post some pics from yesterday's "cocktail time"!!!

Kelly, Jim, and Lilly:thumbsup2

Great to hear everyone survived. Now you can get a better night's sleep.

The cocktail sounds like a good idea too. Did they allow the parents to be there until she was out, or did the cocktail replace that?

So happy that all is well. I remember when youngest DS had surgery and he had a "cocktail". It was very funny to listen to him! It was hard to laugh at him because I was worrying so much, but I did!

Here are some pics of Lilly BEFORE the surgery, but AFTER she was given the "cocktail"!!!!

Wonderful! She looks like she is having a lot of giggles in the pic with you. She looks like she is a bit out of it with Jim.

I am glad you all survived the trauma. She will not remember much of it in a pretty short time, unless you remind her!
