And I'm wondering if they'll still have pictures with Captain Jack right there since the Flying Dutchman won't be in the background.

Oh gosh I hope so! Whatever will I do if I can't go to the island and have a picture with my favorite boyfriend

Lilly has surgery in the morning. So I will probably not get much sleep. The doctor says it is worse on the parents than it is on the child. It is just a simple surgery, but still, a parent worries.

I think if you sign up or create an account on all of their web sites and sign up for the newsletters then they send you e-mails about upcoming sales and or events. For example, Disney Movie Rewards, Disney Store dot com, follow their blogs by going to Facebook and Twitter. Yesterday I got a tweet about the creation of the cuddliest Christmas tree! It's a Duffy bear Christmas tree made out of 1200 Duffy Bears by the Disney voluntEARS. The bears will be donated to Toys for Tots. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog You should show Sue!

Hi Sandy - Good Morning and Welcome to the thread!

I'm sure alot of people here will be happy to tell you about the MC and all of the specials. We have been on two before - '05 and '09. '05 was definitely better as far as the gifts were concerned, but I had an absolute blast on the '09 because I did this - meaning talked to others who were going to be on the cruise ahead of time and sort of got to know them. We were so looking forward to meeting everyone by the time the cruise came along that it really added quite a bit to the cruise itself. We didn't walk anywhere that we couldn't stop and say hi to someone we knew - it was really fun!

There is usually a whole "prize package", one for each person who is registered in the room, when you first arrive. They are very nice, but people are expecting alot this year because it is the 20th anniversary of DVC and the first MC on the Dream. Then there is usually a gift or two, like a special book, or pin, or "cell", (one time on the "05 it was a beach towel) each night when you return to your stateroom (or some time throughout the day). They will also offer special deals for buying more points or signing up for more cruises.

They will also have special guests on board for entertainment and such. I have enjoyed them and hope this one is just as nice.

Glad to have you with us. Where is your stateroom? Where in PA are you? After Christmas, I am hoping to organize a little get-together of those of us who are in the Northeast, so maybe you would like to join us!

Glad you are here, DVC or not. If you wanted to buy, they will offer incentives on the cruise. You have great friends! We are in 7172 and my DB and DSIL or in 7174.

Yes, I am pretty familiar with that area. I am about 10 minutes from Philly over the Walt Whitman Bridge. A little town called Pine Hill.

I will keep you posted after Christmas. In the meantime, enjoy the chatter!

EACH YEAR LAURA AND I ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO REARRANGE OUR LUGGAGE TO FIT THE GIFTS, THINGS I PURCHASED AND 4 BOTTLES OF RUM! ON THE LEGENDS CRUISE THEY BROUGHT ON SOME DISNEY LEGENDS INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL ALICE FROM WALTS ALICE CARTOONS. THEY ALSO BROUGHT ONE OF THE SHERMAN BRO. THE GUESTS EITHER ENTERTAIN OR HAVE TALKS. WHAT ALSO MAKES THESE CRUISES SPECIAL ARE THE MEMBERS. LAURA AND I HAVE SAT WITH THE SAME PEOPLE FOR EVERY CRUISE AT DINNER. WE EVEN ARRANGED TO HAVE DEBBIE, JUNIOR, WALLY , TERRIE(sharkbait), MILFORD, SHAWN and CHRISTINE AND ERIC WHO COULDNT MAKE THIS CRUISE TO BE SITTING NEAR US AT EACH DINNING.

I have no idea what kind of special daily gifts or perks might be available, but I do know this: You have special friends who invited you, and there is a whole shipful of other folks quite like them. That alone makes it extra special!

Ian, why did you have to say that? We were planning to add on, but now I am thinking we may have to go BIG so that we can get the member cruise for free. And Sue saw this, so that I may not have a choice about it now!
