WOW!!! That sounds like it was a real life nightmare! I'm glad she has recovered so well!!! What a scary ordeal!!!

Very scary. She spent 6 months wearing a halo and answering questions from everyone she came across.

:)Thanks Dan!

This is my DH Jim.. He sits dressed like this just about every year for Halloween.. The sign says.. Please take only 2 pieces of candy.. Happy Halloween.. The unsuspecting child reaches for the candy.. and lo.. he make a noise or jumps to  them..

This evening as I was watching from the kitchen a Dad approached telling his children.. look it's just a dummy.. Grabbed Jim's arm shook it and said see..It's not real.. Good job on the stuffing but not real.. he proceeded to reach in and Jim simply said I am too real.. He jumped about six feet and I started looking for the AFD device..
The other funny one was when a 12 year old girl reached into take 3 or
4 pieces and Jim said" The sign say take 2 can't you read?!" I think the scream was heard for about 3 blocks!

Too funny! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

That is soooo hysterical! I love it! I just read this to DD(6) and she thinks this is great...as long as she's not the one being scared.

4 more sleeps until our gang is at WDW!

So excited to meet you Wally and Terrie and Dan (with your silent wife Sue). I'm on :cloud9:

We are "bringing" my folks with us as their Christmas present from last year and they are retired so they decided to drive and play golf at several places along they way. My mom called me this morning to let me know they are on their way. Happy but jealous. :cool1:

Fortunately we are flying so we will be there Friday early afternoon!

Whoo hoo!

FYI: i know I've been absent- busy at work and getting ready for the trip (dh's work has been even busier poor guy). I wanted to let you know if you've messages me about B2B or Palo I am keeping track. When we are back and I get caught up on work I'll post the list. If you are not sue if you told me go ahead and pm me with your parties real names and I'll verify if you are on the list or get you added. :dance3:

Thanks! He's doing much better now. I got a message from him that said he was in the exact same hospital room that my sister-in-law was in when she was in a car wreck back in 2007 and broke her neck in several places. We're hoping for the same miraculous recovery for him as well. You'd never know that my SIL was almost killed (shouldn't have even survived the crash, never mind all the injuries to her spinal column) by looking at her. She had the Christopher Reeves type break as well as others and was internally decapitated. She now has full mobility after a new procedure they tried on her. :thumbsup2

Wow! Very coincidental and, if it works, stick with it. If they fixed your SIL up better than Super Man, these people must really know what they're doing and are current with the latest technology.

We are hoping for a healty and speedy recovery, along with everone else here.

Thank You Everyone!!!

For what???? For having a quiet evening with lite posting. I was able to catch up on the 30 something pages I needed to review. :surfweb:

Great job on everyone's pumpkin carvings.

Enjoyed the pictures posted on the Dream. I was watching the webcam also and chatting with some SSMC09 friends I am cruising with on a 5 night Dream cruise in 2012. I have been on my Droid so I need to go back when on my laptop and check out all the videos you posted.

For this cruise, how many on here are bringing kids? I know happy campers and sue are but not sure who else. I think several of us chatted back on the 1st thread but this is a pretty good size group and I am losing track. :scared:

Right now I feel I am struggling to keep up with everything. Work, helping with kids activities, mandatory training for scout committee position, work, household chores, work, court of honors invites, 2 DIS cruise threads, yardwork, laundry, work, planning DD's 7th birthday next month, and more. It'll all work out but vacation is just around the corner. But then :santa: arrives just 24 days after we return.:scared1:

<snip>Whoo hoo!
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Sue? Silent? Are you from this planet? :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Obviously, you haven't met her!

We are VERY excited to meet you and George too! We are looking forward to this trip much more than usual! Getting to meet people who we will know before we sail is a wonderful (magical?) opportunity! :grouphug:

Coincidence????

John you had the story about the kitten and the gas explosions that I read last night.

Karen has the hospital room story today.

Is anyone superstitious?

If I am from this planet or not depends entirely on who you ask. I try to remain clueless resident of happy land but sometimes I get evicted.

So Sue talks but she doesn't type. Sounds like my momma. She can talk anyone and they will love her in 10 seconds but my dad prints out e-mails for her to read. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2: She doesn't have much time to type... I am on here too much! We both are in sales, and SOMEBODY has to do it! :cool1:

Don't want to wait until we meet you, I want it to be today! Alas, wait we must... popcorn:: See you real soon!

Hi Lisa,
I think your kids are older than our's, but we will be bringing Laran (4, then). And our oldest daughter Caitlyn (CaydennsMommy), will be bringing Caydenn (3, then). As I recall, you have a son around 12 and the daughter is around 7, so they probably won't spend much time together, but who knows?

I told my DW that you recently finished a Masters Degree. Congratulations! I just finished a Masters this summer. I figured she would be interested, because she is all for women bettering themselves. I think she feels like women have always gotten shorted (glass ceiling, etc.). She "hires" women whenever she can (pediatritian, dentist, doctor, wedding preacher, etc.) plus she works for women's and children's causes. What is your degree in?

Information Assurance

Believe it or not I do not have any type of technology undergrad degree. I have 2 undergrad degrees - bus admin with marketing and then an accounting degree. :confused3

My roles and responsibilities have changed quite a bit over the 17+ years I have been with this employer.

Sounds like a great company but, you're gonna have to dumb it down for me. I understand Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, and Accounting, but what is Information Assurance? Or how would it be used? The undergrad degrees sound very valuable in today's marketplace.

My degree, depending on how technical the person I'm talking to, is in Civil Engineering specializing in Geomatics (various areas including GIS, GPS, Photogrammetry and spaceborne sensors, Geodesy, Data Adjustment, etc.). My undergrad degree is also in Civil Engineering, specializing in Land Surveying. (see why you have to dumb it down for me, now?) Purdue houses both of these programs inside Civil Engineering.

My wife's education will blow you away. But I'll stop here for now, before people's eyes glaze over.

Off work today, but did not accomplish much. Still tired from working the weekend. Checked out K Cup supplies at our Super Target. They were $1.00 off, but did not find any I liked in particular. Husband's pirate costume came in and it does fit. My vest is just a wee bit tight. Reason for me not to overindulge this holiday season. Ordered our limo service to the airport for our Dec WDW
trip. Our DME came today as well. Love when everything comes into
play. I want to wait one more week before pre- ordering our
photopass CD. I want to make
sure our Sept pictures are all
cleared first. Tonight is hand bell
ringing practice. We are getting
ready for Christmas. I must say,
I am having fun reading everyone's
posts and getting to know a little about everyone. Have a great
evening and hopefully your phone will not keep ringing. I must have
had 10 political calls already
today.

I also went to Super Target this morning, the one on Diehl. I really had hoped to find more stuff to fill little bags with. From there I went to WalMArt, I did a little better there.:cutie:

Does all that mean you like, never ever EVER EVER get lost?

You'd think wouldn't ya? Not true (but don't tell my wife). Actually I grew up in northern Indiana where roads are layed out nice and square. I would go out for a motorcycle ride and try to get lost, then head back toward home. It was always easy up there, if I needed to go NW I'd go north for a while, then when I got tired I change to west.

But where she's from in southern Indiana, those roads twist and wind around to the point where you just can't get there form here. I've tried it a few times and always end up taking a major road back home.

Of course GPS has eliminated all the guesswork these days. Those things are amazing to me. It tells me fuel prices, traffic conditions, weather, flight arrival times, even if a flight is delayed. Handy when picking someone up from the airport. One time we went to Target to find a kids backpack with a tether attached. We knew they had it, but this particular store was out of what we wanted. So we just searched for other Target stores, in our direction of travel. It also gives phone numbers, so we could have even call them in advance.

Actually Indiana did a pretty good job laying out their county roads (where I enjoy motorcycle riding the most). The county seat is usually the largest city and is typcially located near the center of each county. This city is zero-zero for the county roads. Every mile you are away from this city is a new road number. For example if you were at the intersection of county road 200 South and 350 East, you are located 2 miles south of the county seat and 3.5 mile east (divide by 100).

This is partly why I can't handle the winding roads down south, but they are more fun to ride on. Without a GPS, or a view of the sky, I get turned around pretty easy. I swear some roads twist and turn ending back where you started. I've done that twice! Once on the motorcycle in southern Indiana and once mushroom hunting in Michigan.

Indiana USED to have a great license plate numbering system too. There are 92 counties, when arranged alphabetically, were the first two digits of the license plate number. Kind of fun driving down the highway, knowing where everyone is from. One time I was in Lake Wales, FL and some folks from my county left a note under my wiper telling me which city they were from and to say Hi. Also if you're downtown and you see an out of county plate, you could allow some extra courtesy for lane changes, etc. But eventually Indy, Gary, and Ft. Wayne outgrew their capacity and began digging into the remaining 8 prefix numbers. Now that is gone. We have been reduced to a small number above the plate number which is not large enough to see from any distance.
