We'll see if you still feel the same way when it's well below freezing here with negative wind chills driving snow so hard you can't even see an eighth of a mile. :)

You're not even near Lake Michigan...you don't have the lake effect snow or the even colder wind coming off the lake.

We have also firmed our plans for before and after the cruise. We will be staying at BWV before the cruise for 2 days. Have never stayed there before so we are looking forward to it. We can get a little bit of Epcot enjoyment.:)
After the cruise we are staying at our home BLT for 3 days. Then we get our MK experience:cool1:

We are trying to make plans to come to the world sometime in Jan. My DD has her tasting and planning session for the wedding. We should be there on a Thursday to Sunday. Hope to get a room on the monorail track. Ok not on the track;) but the area. We will be at the GF for all the planning.

You're right about that. But we did live in SW Michigan for 6 years. The average snowfall was 75 inches a year. We had to buy a 4x4 and a plow truck just for our driveway. So I know what you're talking about. The common forecast was for 1 to 3 inches every night, unless there was a storm, then it was more.

My wife moved there ahead of me. One day she opened the garage to go to work. The snow was about 2 feet deep, and she had a Chrysler Sebring which sits about 6 inches off the ground. Called in to work...won't be in today. She and a neighbor with a snow blower spent the day clearing off the driveway. Next day, opened the garage door...same thing! That's when we bought an old Ford Ranger 4x4 and started looking for a plow truck. Picked up a Ram Charger near Detroit and still have it, but it hasn't seen any action for several years.

Junior/Debbie,
Our daughter who is sailing with us lives up your way in Michigan City. She can't seem to stay away from the snow.

I rather did enjoy SW Michigan. During the winter we had a couple of ski slopes within a 30 minute drive. Allegan county where we lived is 75% state forest, so generally the wind was pretty calm and the snow fell straight down. It is quiet, calming, and serine (sp?). Temperatures were moderated by the Lake as long as there was a westerly component in the direction. During the winter it was common to be about 20 to 30 degrees. During the summer we boated on Lake Michigan and visited Holland and Saugatuck (one of the top 10 "Coolest Towns in America"). And the had some of the largest wild mushroom I have ever seen in the fall. Summertime highs were also moderated by the Lake, keeping temps lower, again as long as the winds weren't from the east.

Cograts on the new grandchild. They are awesome. I hope your daughter is doing well

Oh my gosh, what else can go wrong? Potty training takes more diapers than before. Pull-up don't hold as much. And the training underpants don't hold crap ... no pun intended. She has just gotten reliable at making it to the potty in time, yesterday. I NEVER knew how many times a kid pee's. I am washing my hands over 20 times a day between me and her. My skin is getting dried out like during the winter time, but it's warm and humid here!

Several days ago she said she had to go potty. Ok, race to her potty and pull off a wet diaper. Too late, but we tried anyway. No luck. Put on a new diaper, wash our hands, sit down at the computer. She says she has to potty. Back to her potty, pull off the diaper ... What - she has already soiled it! No luck on the potty, so I install the third diaper in less than 5 minutes.

By the way, the box of diapers say 15 to 20 pounds. But let me tell you, they don't hold anywhere near that much. It starts oozing out way before it ever gets close to 10 pounds.

This morning she decides to show me her pee by bringing the insert pan to me. This way she is sure to get a star sticker on her chart and a piece of (Mickey's Halloween) candy. Over half of it gets spilled on the carpet on the way. Really no better than the first few days of training underpants, which just ran down her leg onto the carpet. Glad I convinced my wife not to put in new carpet.

Just now, we get her on the potty and pee is coming over the front of the potty onto the tile. How is that possible ... it's a GIRL! Several paper towels later the tile is clean, but that stuff just soaks right into the grout. Moved the potty so the front is better centered over a tile. Maybe I need to tie a towel around the base of the potty.

Is there anything else I should be aware of ... before it happens?

Deb and I are at Bub's with Milford and Shawn. I am ordering the big ugly burger which is a full pound burger and if you finish it all you get your picture taken and put on the wall. Here's to getting my picture taken to be a glutenous pig. :thumbsup2

Wish you were here Wally and Terrie!!

Good luck with finishing the 1 pound burger ... I sincerely hope that's before cooking weight, for your sake.

When you get your photo on the wall, let me know where it is, in case I ever make it up there.
