OOPS....This is Deb (again) posting under Junior's account! Sorry!

Did you get it all squared away? You should have sent a text. I didn't see this until today. And we were in Orland Park, right across the street from the mall. :(

We are usually on the move on the weekends. Any time you are over this way, let us know and we can arrange something or another. :thumbsup2

Oh snap!! We had to wait two hours to have Brandon's ipad looked at...we could have met up for lunch!! Oh well....next time! :goodvibes

Come join us in Florida too. Chuck just bought an accounting practice in Clearwater! He'll be a snowbird for awhile since he still has clients here and I'm not ready to give up LI after 60+ years!! Right now this still is home, the kids 35 & 32 still want to come home and sleep in their rooms. I'll hold onto that for as long as I can:love:

Congrats to Chuck!!!! And, that is so awesome that you are in the same house that your kids grew up in and they can come home to sleep in their old rooms!!! I can't say that I blame you for not wanting to give that up!! :goodvibes

Hiya Karen!!!

Are things better with the troop? If you need a little trip to DL...Let me know...:rolleyes1

Hey there! Well, I'm less stressed about all of it. But, I don't know if things have really improved or not. Things are still messed up, but it's really beyond my control. So, I have had to let some of it go.

I could definitely go for another trip to DL right now, but it's not going to happen. :sad1:

All the kids we ******ly (okay that word is not allowed - so let's say non-c-section), with the help of an epidural. The delivery room had the Pain Goal of 5. I should have taken a picture of the sample faces for each pain level to post here.

I've sometimes wondered about the epidural. I know, after I had both my boys (without an epidural), right after the birth I had an endorphin rush or some such. I was up, walking around, pain free, ready to hit the mall or Disneyland, etc. With baby #2, the after pains didn't kick in until several hours later. I've wondered if moms who do have the epidural have a similar rush or if the epidural prevents them from getting that same effect. Stitch was only six or seven hours old when we went home with him. Grumpy was born just before 1am, so we stayed until 10 or 11am with him. It was awesome with Stitch, because he was born in the afternoon and I went home and slept in my own bed that night. :cloud9:

Hey let Chuck know that you know a good IT guy that is looking to move away from Indiana to Florida. Clearwater would make my wife happy I think. :cool1:

I could use a good IT guy/gal to help me decide about cloud computing. I need to have access to all of my programs and data whether I am in my NY or Clearwater office. HELP.....

Karen, I just quizzed Lara about it. She doesn't feel as though she had the endorphin rush that you experienced without the epidural. She did say her recovery period depended on how bad the tearing was. With Laran it was worse than this time. Like I mentioned she drove home and stopped to do a little shopping on the way, herself. But this was after two days in recovery.

One difference is, that with Laran (and the epidural) she was still working on her computer in the hospital while having labor pains. The only evidence of a labor pain was on the monitor, because she was able to completely ignore them.

That's good news Vicki! You know that his travel to FL could now be a tax (or business) deduction. The side trips to Disney won't count, but the travel and most of the lodging should. Congratulations on your new acquisition!

I had one child (Brandon) with no pain meds and the second child (Emilee) with an epidural. I think I felt like I could get around better and a lot quicker after the second one (with the epidural). But then I was in lots of pain a couple days later. I'll tell you what, though, if I could do it all over again, I'd have gone in earlier with Brandon and gotten an epidural!!!!! My only problem is ever since I had it with Emilee my back is SUPER sensitive. I cannot stand to be touched on the back.

After I had Brandon I don't think I ever went to sleep. (He was born at 12:21 am) But I'm pretty sure I went to sleep after I had Emilee (She was born at 2:21 am). I had a better room...farther away from the door that all the nurses were coming in and out of!

I can't believe Lara was able to DRIVE two days later! I think my doctor told me not to drive for a week. But then again he was really old school. (He was in his 70's when he delivered my kids)

Debbie had both our children as natural deliveries with no pain medication. We did La Maz and I was her coach. I was amazed how hard she could squeeze my arm during contractions. They added Demoral to her IV for the recovery room. According to her it made recovery "really really nice".

We were told by the nurse, not to drive while taking narcotics ... wait, you aren't taking narcotics ... so in that case don't drive until you feel you can do it without inflicting pain while steering, braking, etc. I don't think she had in mind her driving home, but that's what we ended up doing.

Good Morning DISpeeps!!!! Just wanted to say I miss alls y'alls. :grouphug:

By the way, has anyone heard from Andy (carmouse)? I sent him an e-mail over a week ago since I hadn't seen him on the boards but no response :confused3 I hope he's ok.

Yikes! I'd be sad if my back was that sensitive. I love a good back rub and/or back scratch. :good vibes

I love birth stories. They are all so unique and interesting.

They gave me a shot of Demoral when I was about 35 hours in to my first labor. It was _wonderful_! I was exhausted and they wanted me to be able to rest for a bit before pushing. It only worked for about 40 minutes. But, I was loving every minute of it. :rotfl2: Labor #2 was really fast and there wasn't time for any more Demoral. I was kinda looking forward to it too. :lmao:

Miss you guys too! I've been worried about Andy too! :guilty:

Thanks! Let him know that he's missed!

So, 2013 dates were released today for the Dream and the Fantasy. I'm very tempted to book a 7 day in Oct or the beginning of Nov in 2013. :rolleyes1
