Here's the other thread Clicky

Play nice with them. I completely understand why they need a slower paced thread. Most of the time folks post on here, then a Pirate hunt breaks out, followed by the Congrats. Then by the time someone who knows the answer finally posts a response, we are 5 pages from the original post. I can see people getting lost in all the chatter.

Not saying one is better than the other, just different strokes for different folks.

:lmao: lol I know right. Tell them to come play with us we are nice!

Actually, I'm kinda afraid to post there (unless I come up with something really worthwhile). I get the feeling they really are looking for cruise info, more than getting to know each other. But I figure several of them read/post here for that anyway.

Whew, I have GOT to quit disappearing for weeks at a time. It takes FOREVER to catch back up.

I see the West Coast DISmeet (plus Terrie and the Hutsell's micro-DISmeet) went well. All of our Potters are back from the Northwestern US family wedding. We've had a few new folks join us here in the last few weeks. The excitement builds.

Last we heard Andy got scared out of NY, seeking refuge in Atlanta. Mickey and Christa, Vicki and Chuck were riding out the storm. I hope all is well with everyone along the east coast, and we will be hearing from them once power is restored.
Welcome back, John! Glad to hear from you!

Howdy all! :wave2:

Unfortunately, this is just a drive-by post tonight. I wanted to stop in to say hello and give an extremely brief update.

My trip went well to Atlanta, loved the onion rings at the Varsity. :thumbsup2 I dealt with the earthquake over the telephone and everything was just fine in the end. I ended up leaving to return to NY on Friday instead of Sat due to the storm. That was a good choice as the airports all closed down on Sat and I would have been stranded there.

I had the knee surgery this morning. Everything seemed to go extremely well. I have been very sluggish from the drugs today and am about to pass out again LOL.

Tomorrow I will go back to page 68 and start to catch up. I will try to hop over to the end every now and then just to see what is going on. I expect to be on here a lot over the next few days and will gladly fill you all in on what else has been happening. Hopefully I did not miss anything important. I will speak with you all tomorrow! :goodvibes

welcome back andy. hope they gave you to good stuff :thumbsup2
rest up your knee and take care :flower3:

It is quite likely that I will be separated from the family before too long (due to work). So Laran and I are spending the summer of a lifetime together.

We went out to Lake Michigan every chance we got. With a life jacket on she loved the independence of being able to 'swim' around where ever she wanted. I would anchor the boat just at the edge of the shallow water (for me, not her). Waves typically were 1 foot, water temps in the low 70's with air temps around 90. She would spend about an hour in the water, an hour making 'sand castles' on the beach, followed by another hour in the water. Very enjoyable, indeed!

That's awesome! So great that you can spend the summer together like that!

I think it was Mike who mentioned something about a post cruise thread. At the time I just passed over the idea, but now I'm thinking it might be interesting. How else will we be able to follow Dan & Sue's globetrotting, Wally & Terrie's D23 and DISmeets, Junior & Debbie's move to FL, and all the rest of our milestones? It should be a good fit to keep on DISboards, since we all know most of our news will be Disney related anyway.

I guess we still have a month or so to figure it out before this thread(s) ends.
