Gail, I usually have to go to the tanning bed before our cruises too. I just need enough color on me so that I don't scare anyone into thinking I am a ghost! And my natural skin tends to burn easily at first, so I usually try to get a little tan before, so I don't look like a lobster on vacation. This year, we put a pool in at our house, so I've maintained some tan all summer, so I won't need the tanning bed this year. I've noticed that tanning beds turn me a different color too, and you don't seem to get tan on the tops of your shoulders, like you would from, say, spending the day at Castaway Cay!

I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror and I swear I can't tell that I've even been to the beds. Usually, I can tell after the first visit. I'll keep going and hopefully have a little tan by next week.

Happy labor day to all, I am working too to get things done before we leave. Every one else is off so I should get a lot done.

My working didn't last long. I'm already back home. I just couldn't concentrate. :confused3 I'll be at the office to midnight next week trying to get everything done. Oh well, I work better under pressure anyway.

Anyone worried about Tropical Depression #6???

I am very worried. I've never really followed the path of these things before because I've never had a reason to. It just seems to me that even if this thing turns into a hurricane, it should hit fore 16th. Shouldn't it?

i try not to think about hurricanes. What ever will happen will happen. We will put away all our outside furniture and other stuff before we leave. There is nothing we can do about a storm until we return. we have been through so many in the last few years it's getting really old.

On a brighter note. I went to the Disney outlet on my lunch hour. Bought a DCL shirt and a dress shirt for me and got a $90.00 golf shirt for my BIL for Christmas for $22.00. It was packed. I owuld have thought the tourists would be on their way home by now.

Well lets all keep our fingers crossed it stays out in the Atlantic. I too will be really bummed if we miss CC.

How cool, my kids have no idea either...they still think we are leaving on the 16th straight to the cruise!!!

I remember you mentioning that. I had to stop myself a few times from telling Sadie that you guys were going to be in DW in case she mentioned it to Rehka by accident. So they don't know we're going. They think we're going to Animal Kindgom that night for the EMH there. Ha. If they don't catch on, it'll be the third time we got them this way. We tricked them twice before and took them to the parks without them figuring it out.

Did anyone see the Disney Cruise Line special on the Travel Channel today? It was the same show that I've watched several times already, but it seemed so much more exciting this time around know that we are just days from getting on that ship.

I have my box stuff and ready to ship tomorrow. I have absolutely everything packed that can possibly be packed before the night before we leave. It may sound stupid, but I have everything done for this cruise, but I still want to something. I just hope the next eleven days fly by.

Well, hello everyone! I have found it absolutely impossible to keep up with all of you chatty people!

From what I have read on here it sounds like I am the only one who waits until the night before we leave to pack.

DH and I must also be the only ones dumb enough to be flying in the morning of the cruise. Anyone else flying in that morning? We are scheduled to arrive in Orlando about noon. Hopefully there will not be any bad weather or security breaches to hold us up. We did book air through DCL so I know they will do their best to get us to the ship. I am trying not to worry about it.

I watched the DCL special on the Travel Channel today. I never get tired of watching it. I am so ready for this cruise!

As far as the packing goes, I have to pack early and make several different lists or I miss something. If I waited until the night before to pack, I would be making a midnight dash to Walmart to get all the stuff that I had not thought of before. Everytime I add something to my bags, I think of something else that I forgot.

I know what you mean about the special. I watch the special about the parks that come on just before it also. We are going to WDW for Christmas. I can't wait until the Christmas special that they always show starts.

Gail, I watch all of the Disney programs that I possibly can. Doesn't matter how many times I have seen them.

DH and I have never been to WDW during the Christmas season. My cousin (she and her husband will be on this cruise with us) keeps telling us that we HAVE to go during the holiday season at least once. I would love to see all of the decorations but would then HAVE to cruise to see the ship all decorated!

Oh snap, I missed the Travel Channel show? I LOVE that show!

Regarding packing, I often pack the night before for a vacation, but I could never do that for a cruise. As I saw someone say earlier (somewhere on the board) "It's not like you can run to Walmart in the middle of the cruise to pick up something you forgot". I start about a month before, and I get a box or a crate or an old laundry basket, and I start throwing stuff in as I think of it. I've already started my lists: what to take, outfits for each night, what I need to purchase for the trip, what needs to be done before I leave, etc. Next weekend, I'll pull the suitcases out and start packing some stuff. I only have to pack for myself and DD, DH does his own thing, although we are putting all our formal stuff in one suitcase together.

I missed two days and read three pages! I haven't packed yet, and with the ren faire this weekend, I am wondering when I'll have the time! Ya'll are a chatty bunch now...I'm gonna' be away from the computer a lot, cause I have to get things together for this weekend, then again for Wedensday the 13th when we leave! We're so close now!

Hi there :wave2:
Not to worry Ragdoll ... Hubby and I fly in the morning of the cruise as well. And as far as packing goes ... I am heading to Chicago this weekend, and I still haven't packed a thing, let alone for the cruise.
I guess I just have a HIGH threshold for Chaos ;)
Cheers :joker:

J Norris - I have the same lists as you! Except I only manged to create my list this weekend :guilty: I dont know why this time I have been so neglectful, usually I am much more ahead of the game. I really have to pull up my socks this week. I want the weekend free for last minute purchases and the testing of some of the sea sicknessnes meds I have yet to buy.

How much for disposable cameras in Florida?? Im thinking of buying them down there...up here its 15-18 bucks for one.

Todays agenda, review DCL bookings, excursions and finalize...and fill out all the online forms...

Oh thanks for reminding me! I want to look for the underwater one! We got some on the ship last time and I think they cost around $20 each! Ouch! I am gonna check at walgreens later today and see if they any.

Well it was like pulling a little kids teeth, but I got DH to finally pack. I swear I love that man with all my heart, but he drives me insane sometimes! I know that I over packed. I just know it. I have even gone back to my suitecase twice and taken stuff out. But with him I had to put clothes on the bed and ask him what he wanted to bring. With a half heart yes he was able to pack just enough. Why can't I have that kind of will power! :lmao: I'm jealous to the brink of insanity! :teeth: Oh well he's strong enough to carry my suitcases. :thumbsup2 God help me when I pack the shoes and makeup! :teeth:
