Yes they will let you in early. We had 5:00 ADR at Crystal Palace. We did not know that they would let us in early. We had annual passes, so when we arrived at the gates, I explained that we had tickets for the party, but were entering early on our passes to eat and asked if it would be necessary for us to exit and re-enter at 7:00. She explained that we could enter at 4:00 on our party passes alone. All of the posts that I have read confirmed that they were also allowed early entry.

Thanks Gail, for the info. I have heard good things about the party, so I hope we have fun. I'm a little worried that we may stay out too late that night, and be tired the next day. But DH says the car we have scheduled doesn't come until 10:30, so maybe we will be OK. When we took our first Disney cruise, we did a land/sea, and we were so exhausted from the days at WDW, that we couldn't stay up past 10:30 any night on the cruise!

I hope all you guys have a great time. These old bones are going to relax and do a little shopping at DTD Friday and lunch at Rain forest after we pick up the inlaws at the airport. We are going to be in the parks Wed & Thursday. I can't even start the shopping and planning until after our trip to NY and getting both boys set up at FSU.So septmeber will be very hectic.

Hava great day. We are having a rainy stormy Monday. Which we need. I would so rather be home and under the covers. I don't like lightning & thunder.

Hi all. We'll also be in DW that week, but because Madalyn is so little, we weren't planning on going to MNSSHP. We went 2 years ago before our Halloween cruise and it was great. Steve isn't sure it would be worth the $ to go this time, though. We'll have to discuss it.

Next year, we're thinking of MVMCP- hopefully we'll have our little boy home from Kazakhstan in more than enough tme.

No word on deployment and this was drill weekend, so far, so good.

I'm waiting for an email from the family support on base. I volunteered to help out with all the refugees from Lebanon they have coming in. Our friends were working all weekend helping people with their paperwork, getting flights, etc. She said they were all in really good shape and they didn't need any of the doctors, etc they had on stand by.

O.K. Ya'll I am going to Delta and checking my flight...I wanna' go to MNSSHP - I have to talk PurpleTart into it...Mekayla will be a no brainer...we did want to go to the parks anyways....we'll see :cool1: Last time we did MNSSHP we were in the parks all day anyways...so if you're just going in the evening for the party do you have to buy an admission ticket too or just the one for MNSSHP? Let me know if you know, it may be the deciding factor in us going.

Amanda01 - I am feelin' ya' on the heat...I didn't know it could get so hot in Oregon! The heat has been the topic on the front page of the newspaper for two days now!
That being said, this weekend we visited the Oregon Caves (at 42 degrees) so we were cool as Polar Bears. Had to even by Mekayla a sweatshirt! That's just crazy buying a sweatshirt in 100 degree weather! :sad2: We went to Crater Lake - there is not enough room allowed to tell you all how amazingly awesome it is - and the Ranger there said, since you're this far South, you should go check out The Oregon Caves, so we did! Then on the way back to Bend we stopped at the Lava Tunnels so we hit two National Forests and one National Park area in a weekend. We put 1000 miles on Eddie. He's broken in, now. :drive: My son drove Eddie around Crater Lake and back to Bend, so he even got to check out the new car. :car: I am going to Portland today (another 240 miles on the new car) so Mekayla and I will hit the Disney Store (Ya'll remember from previous posts we don't have one here in Eugene) We will think about you Amanda01 while we're in Portland. Again, another missed opportunity to meet! You guys have to help me work on PurpleTart for MNSSHP...I am going to go check out our flights again (I think we get in too late) but I can't remember :confused3 Happy Monday all.

I just checked, we get in at 5:18pm...after getting the car and getting to WDW it's going to be close to 7:00pm is that too late? How late is the park open for the party? I can't believe I am even entertaining this.... :confused3
:grouphug: DIS Meet at MNSSHP! Thanks...Gail look what you started! :rotfl: :teeth: :lmao:

HELLO ALL :wave2:
Well T & I are from near Toronto, and as far as partying with the 40ish crowd .... :thumbsup2 WOOOHOOO we'll be poolside most days. You'll be able to tell who we are because I'll have the biggest kid there. :rotfl2:
Once you meet us, you'll see what I mean.
Cheers :joker:

The party is from 7-12, and you only need the party ticket to get in.

I am so glad you all posted about MNSSHP being on 9/15 or I would never have known. I just didn't realize that they started having parties in September!! So, after much cajoling I have convinced dh that we should go. He isn't 100% thrilled but agreed that it would be fun and a great way to get an extra use out of our pirate costumes. We currently have a reservation at The Residence Inn the night before but I guess we'll switch that to an on-site for convenience sake. Then we'll drive in that morning to the port - hopefully we'll make it by 10:30 or so.

We had a great time on Saturday picking out pirate cotumes for dh and me. My sister met us at the costume shop (she used to be the asst mgr there) to help keep the kids in line while we tried things on and to help us navigate the selection. The store is HUGE and has theatrical-quality costumes (the vast majority are for rent not purchase) so it was a long 3 hours before we were done. We ended up selecting costumes that we both really liked and that are comfortable as well. My mother and sister are going to help in making the kids' costumes (this store doesn't have a huge selection of kids sizes especially in the smallest sizes). So we are really looking forward to having some great pictures taken and enjoying the rare opportunity to dress up as a family (and now not once but twice because of MNSSHP).

I have been working diligently on our door signs. I have about 15 or so made and I'm not done yet :) Since we have 2 rooms we need twice as many signs of course! I am using photoshop and having a great time learing about layers, shadows, etc. although I am only using about 2% of the program's capabilities.

I am only half as far in my weight loss journey as Joanne - I have lost 15 lbs and hope to lose 10-15 more before the cruise. I have been working with a personal trainer the last few weeks and will start my marathon training program next month so hopefully both of those will help shed those last pounds. I would really like a family portrait that I didn't want to cut my picture out of!

I am headed to my mother's house tomorrow with my kids. We are hoping to provide her some company and distraction since I think my dad's death is really starting to sink in. It will be nice to see her and the kids always enjoy staying at her house. So I'll check in when I return as I doubt I"ll be using the computer much while we are there.

Have a great week everyone!

You guys are killing me :crowded: the pressure! Oh but what a surprise it would make for the kids...they dont even know we are flying in a day early..I can imagine the look on their face when they see the magic kingdom and not from the tv screen, and a halloween party to boot...

$140 for the advance tickets
cab fare from the orlando hyatt to Magic Kingdom and back again...any one know how far this drive would be and if taking a taxi makes sense???

okay so we wont be up bright and early...and we wont be on the first bus the next morning but we will still be getting on the magic and we would have memories of MNSSHP and Magic Kingdom!

I need a second job :sad2:

Changing flights from Friday to Thursday...$150.00

Begging Boss for an extra day off...$2.75 (double tall latte')

Gas from MCO to WDW and tickets to MNSSHP for 3 - $150.00

Look on DD's face when we get to go to WDW before the cruise...PRICELESS!

O.K. call me a MasterCard commercial...I called PurpleTart yesterday, I am waiting for her to call back...I told Mekayla if Cindy's up for it, we'll go. I was going to ship my pirate costume (ship my pirate costume...that sounds funny) but if we go, I guess I'll have to carry it on...hopefully I'll be able to get everything I am bringing (including kid's stuff for Costa Maya) in luggage but I was and am prepared to ship a box to the warehouse before the trip...of course pirate gear was a big part of the intended "items to send"

Favorite Disney Princess Amanda - did you hear about Madonna's concert on NBC in November? TIVO worthy viewing opportunity eh?!?! :dance3:
I got my photo album Thanks!

Amanda01 - We waved when we were in Portland! We went to Washington Square for the Disney Store - we were not impressed. There wasn't anything good (I can't believe I typed that) and the store wasn't "cute" there were no plastic props on the ceiling (like every Disney Store I have ever been in) we noted that it wasn't the "Magical" experience it usually is...walked out without buying a thing :scared1:

Seashells - I need a second job (for Eddie) and a third job (Disney fix) ugh! But MNSSHP really is a don't miss. I can't believe I planned our flights so poorly...who knew they did the party as early as the second week of September? :confused3 I think there is a shuttle from MCO to WDW I wouldn't do a taxi but maybe one of the transportation companies instead.

Well, Cindy won't call me back...I have made all the cruise plans so far...so I am going to make this one! We're GOING to the MNSSHP (well, I am buying tickets...if our plane is not late we'll be there!) she's gonna' poke me in the brain when she finds out! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ya'll have to come say hi here

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=13672434#post13672434

Looks like the first night is going to be an all DIS event! party: :maleficen :hmghost:

I just thought of something...we'll get to see the Witch fly from the castle! What a great way to start our trip!?!?!

The witch flight was pretty cool. I waited and waited to video it, but it happened at an odd time- during a pause in the middle of the fireworks.

I so want to go now. Hmmm, maybe we can dump dh at the hotel and I can come with the kids...

I think this is new this year. We went year before last, and they didn't start until October. We would've loved to go in Sept- lower point value on our DVC, cheaper travel, etc.

Jule

I am not sure why MNSSHP never occured to me for this trip...but I knew I wasn't trippin' when I thought early September was "early" for the party. I don't care, though! :cool1: When I remember the fireworks, and the parade I just decided we gotta' go! We weren't planning on "doing" any parks before or after our cruise but I am so glad we might get a chance to, if only for a little while. :earsboy: :earboy2: :earsgirl: Fingers crossed all goes well with the flights and whatnot. Stitch's Great Escape was rumored to open the Fall of 2004 and we booked our first cruise in October 2004 - but the hurricanes blew our hopes of going to Stitch's Great Escape even though I planned for the opening and we did a week at the parks and a week on the ship. It ended up opening in November and DD was bummed. Looks like it's on the list of open attractions for the party...so DD is stoked. :smooth: Sure hope PurpleTart's cool on no sleep the night before sail date... :guilty: sure wish she'd call.... :teeth:

ADD 3 to MNSSHP - PurpleTart called - she's a great best friend...she said yes! Whoo Hoo :woohoo: We're bound for the Villian Parade! Man, is my tiara gonna' be crooked Saturday :sad2: I am gonna' look (and feel) rough! Someone had better clear a deck chair on deck four for me. We'll also be cancelling Palo for Dinner Saturday. I am so happy we'll be going to WDW if only for a little while! :joker: :hmghost: :maleficen :stitch:

I like the wrong wand smiley in your sig. I'm getting more twisted as I age. It's all the kids, I think. party:

I don't think we'll be making MNSSHP. The kids would be a wreck the next day, and our oldest dd gets migraines and vomits (I know- too much info) when she's tired. I can just see her throwing up in the terminal and them turning us around, screaming, "Illness! You can't get on the ship!"

Thank you! I like it too, I saw it on another board, and figured I should bring it over. It's the story of my life...best laid plans...good intentions gone awry...all of that.

I am not sure how I talked PurpleTart into it, I think it was the face painting ~ she loves that! :artist: I think I am too old to stay up all night and then get up the next day and do it again...We have a five hour flight and then a two hour flight, that day so I told PurpleTart I was bringing the sleeping meds!
I wanna' party with the Wild Things, though....so I'll try.

I too would not go out all night the night before then...poor thing! I would be hysterical (not like it would help matters) if I was denied boarding because I had a child who was "stretched" and not "ill" We're definately going to be weary...

Julie, is it just me or is everyone off enjoying their summer, and too busy to chat? I am surprised at how slow our thread is moving.... :confused3

Where's Seashells, where's Disney Princess Amanda? Where's everyone...I know Amanda01 is away but that doesn't mean we can't give her good catch up stuff to come home to...come on people!! :cheer2:

I am here faithfully every day (few times a day!!) not going anywhere until Aug 8-11 when I will be camping at "kill bear"...although im not as excited about camping as usual, i guess the upcoming cruise has something to do with it!!

Im here reading just not much to contribute trying to get the house ready as my mom and dad are bringing my DD home and well you know how parents

They're letting everyone have a turn to talk.

Since no one's here, I can complain. I just found out our homestudy agency doesn't have a licensed social worker anymore, so our homestudy, while it's acceptable to our state and the US government, isn't acceptable in Kazakhstan. We might have to do it over. (Ick, I have to clean my house again?) And here in our area, homestudies are $$$. I guess we're paying for the ease of adoption #1.

Julie

Hey guys! Did anyone see the Disney special on the Travel Chanel last night? It was the same one that has played off and on since I booked this cruise, but DD and I watched it anyway. I just can't get enough Disney.

It looks like our MNSSHP group has grown. Does anyone want to plan actual meet at MK that evening?

Today, my secretary tried to schedule something for me on September 18th, and I had to remind her that that is my cruise week. It made it seems so much closer and then I realized that it is closer. :woohoo:
