Hey Guys, I've been going Little League Crazy lately!!! Practice and Scrimmage games 5 days a week and my dh had his first Go-Kart race this weekend!!!! (HELP)
Disney is beautiful at christmas, but if you go you have to go check out all the big hotels, they all make really big things out of chocolate. The Grand Floridian has a gingerbread house that a women sells gingerbread cookies out of. The boardwalk has a little rep. of the boardwalk all chocolate. It is great and so is mickeys christmas party.

We are going to go to the halloween party again this year, we are staying at the boardwalk after the cruise for a week. The last time we went my kids were asked to be grand marshalls in the parade. There was 20 kids asked to ride in the haywagons with the characters. My little guy wouldn't do it but the other two did and they got to go "back stage" with the characters and they gave them a certificate and we got a special place to stand to watch. It was so COOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!! They will never forget it. I didn't really get on to say on that, I just wanted to see if anyone had made anymore plans and say HI!!! You guys have a good monday!!! I have to get off and go to a scrimmage with my son and drop my daughter off at fast pitch practice.

We are doing the baseball thing also, but for us it is high school boys. I don't have a son, but my two best friends have sons who are in eighth grand and playing high school ball. One started on our high school varsity basketball team this year, and the other is starting on our high school varsity baseball team. Zack hit his first home run on a high school team Saturday night.

We won't have time to go to WDW after the cruise. DD is missing 6 days of school to go on the cruise. The school board has approved an educational excuse for all 6 days, but I'm not going to push it by asking for more. We do have to do at least one educational excursion and she has to chart her cruise on a map. Then she has to give an oral presentation to her class about what all she did and saw. I originally planned to take her to Xcarat, and the school board approved that as the education excursion, but after the hurricane I wasn't sure we would even be going to Cozumel, so we changed it to Kennedy Space Center and they approved it. When we get back fromt he cruise we are going to the Space Center and then staying overnight and heading home on Sunday.

We know about the chocolate and gingerbread displays at the resorts. We watched a special on the food channel about the food at Disney during Christmas and they went to the resorts and showed each and gave a little of the behind the scenes stuff showing all the work that went into them. That show is mainly what made DD and me decide to do WDW at Christmas. If it comes back on you should watch it. DD is insisting that we buy one of the miniture gingerbread houses. The show said that you could buy minitures from the lady inside the big house.

WE go to a private school, and we take our kids out two week at least every year, they don't have a problem with that.... With summer last year our kids were at disney 30 days and then a 7 day cruise and 27 days the year before. We just make sure they keep up their work and they have all kept good grades. Our fifth grader is struggling right now but that has nothing to do with disney its called lazy.....

I think we have every disney special on our tibo... I love that thing.

You will love disney at christmas take lots of film or disk cards for your camara.

And don't forget you don't have to wait for the party to start to go to the park, you just go to a station they have set up to put on a wrist band and then you know you are there from the start. And the parade really is beautiful.....

You guys are going to have a blast....
Gail did you get my pm with my e-mail address for your daughter?

Well I'm out of here I need to start working on my pictures, I am trying to get the kart racing pictures up on my web-site so the guys can see them and hopefully buy them...

O.K. I am gonna' mention this and then I am gonna' let it go, but if I don't tell anyone, I'll bust, and you guys are the only people who understand my DIS Obsession  I got an e-mail from Jennifer Marx (one of the authors for Passporter's) and she said she used one of my tips for their e-book (Disney cruise tips for cruise trips) so I am on page 20 and I get a free download of the book. :woohoo: Of course, I already bought the Field Guide, but the tip download should fit quite nicely in the Field Guide binder. :teeth: O.K. I have bragged enough. I told Mekayla and she was like "That's nice" but I knew you guys would be more understanding on how cool this is! :lmao:

Now you must share the tip!! :listen: Very cool indeed.

We here on the DISBOARDS already knew this, but in case it's new news, here goes :thumbsup2 "We went on our first cruise after the four hurricanes in 2004. We heard from other guests that you can send yourself a box (FedEx Ground was the preferred method) and have your door signs, wine/beer/champagne, decorations, gifts for kids, and whatever else you wanted shipped to your stateroom and it arrives anywhere between before you get to your room at 1:30pm-ish to before dinner the first night. You send your packages to: IDS, 9001 Marlin Street, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920 and include the following: ATTN: Disney Cruise Line Housekeeping; STATEROOM: (enter cabin or GTY - they’ll get it there); PASSENGER NAME: (your name here); DATE OF SAIL: (make sure box arrives three days before your cruise sails); VESSEL: Magic or Wonder; and NUMBER OF BOXES: (1 of 2, 2 of 4, etc.). There is no fee other than what FedEx charges you to ship it there. Disney Housekeeping will deliver it to your stateroom free of charge." [Editor’s Note: Call Integrated Distribution Services (IDS) at 321-799-9100 or e-mail idsftz@aol.com to confirm this address and procedure before you make your shipment, just in case there have been changes or they no longer offer this delivery service.] By PassPorter reader Thea LittleBear

I am not even gonna' say anything about T.O.P for page 100!!! :rolleyes1

Well ladies my serach for a dress is over. I did something that I never thought I would do. I got the shoes. And not just any shoes, I got THE shoes! Let me first say that I went to Nordstroms with ever intention of looking at their sales. They always have shoes on sale. But they also have a section called "Salon shoes" where they keep the very pretty shoes. So pretty in fact that they are on a shelf that requires a step stool to reach them.

Well there just happened to be a sales person and a step stool there so I thought to myself, "Self, let's try on some pretty shoes" and I did! Can you see where this is going. Well I am not one to spend crazy money without talking to DH, so I put the pretty shoes on hold, knowing that DH would never go for it. I went home told some Dis board friends, my mom, my BFF and then DH. All the women saw the pic's and said "BUY THEM NOW!" They sounded like ebay! Then there was DH. He said and I quote, "If you really want them then get them." end quote! (Insert shocked smile here) So after 4 days of struggle I bought them.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p?dp=10806798&c=15638

The link shows them in silver but I got them in gold. They are the prettiest things I have every had on my feet. I am going to have a dress that I already own altered for the cruise so now I am all set. Now the following is a list of event I plan on wearing the shoes too so that I get my money's worth:

-Cruise X 2 this summer and all future cruises
-Every nice dinner for the next 10 years
-My childrens (when I have some) plays, graduations, weddings and other big events
-Laundry day
-Anytime I am on the internet
-When ever I am sleeping
-And lastly my funeral

I think that should make them worth it! :p

They are really stunning. :thumbsup2 Enjoy spending and buying for yourself before you have kids. Whenever I go shopping I only buy stuff for the kids. That way I don't have to try on clothes and see the reflection of a chubby person I don't recognize! I think anything would look cuter on them than on me.

And if the photographer tries to zoom in for a close up, tell him/her to zoom in on your feet. :rotfl:

Sirena, all my friends with kids told me the same thing. We are trying to get pregnant, so I figured this would be my last chance to buy something stupid. I have never in my life spent that kind of money on anything. I spent less on everything I wore to my own wedding, including the dress! :teeth: I guess everyone needs to be insane once in their life!

Well if you are trying then make sure you wear them A LOT before you get pregnant b/c they will not fit during the pregnancy and I am sure you will not be wearing heels either. And with each of my 2 pregnancies I have gone up half a size. Maybe b/c all the weight I gained!

I hardly wear heels now. I'm sure when I am pregnant it will be nothing but flip-flops and crocs for me! :thumbsup2

That's so funny I went up a half size with each pregnancy,too. I was an 8 my whole life, now I'm a 9. That's so funny! :rotfl2:

Amanda, very, very pretty shoes :thumbsup2

Hi all, Hope every one is doing well. Those are great looking shoes. I am not a shoe or a dressey person. My kids dress in all the designer stuff and I wear the same over & over. Maybe if I can lose a bunch of weight I will need new clothes.

Gail, wdw is beautiful at Christmas. But I would never do it again. We went to see my best friend from NY. The parks get maxed out. If you are not in by 9:30 you can't get into some. All the fast passes are gone by 10. I would bring in your lunch. There are hour long lines for food and bathrooms. The week of thanksgiving is less crowded and the Christmas decorations are up.

We have HS graduation in three weeks. It is house cleaning time............ relatives are coming to visit. I have rented a condo on the beach for a few days. So that will be fun.

Have a good one.............

Fellow DISers,
I was thinking of personalizing buttons and getting them professionally customized. I am getting some quotes right now. I think we need to make about 20 in order to get a decent deal. Who would be interested?

This is the design:

I think the price range would be $2-$3. If anyone can recommend a place, let me know.

I had no idea you could do this, this is only our 2nd disney cruise. That is a really cool idea. So do they just put the box in your stateroom or will they open it and set things out for you if you want gifts set up for your kids when they get to the room???? I know that may be a far reach but it is DISNEY!!!!
Thanks for sharing and congrats on getting it published. And as MOMs and WIFEs if we don't ring our own bell sometimes it will never get rung..... So it is okay to brag about yourself sometimes, we spend our time talking about our husbands or our kids, So I think Good For You!!!!! That is very Exciting...

That is a great idea!!!! I have a friend who has a button machine that a school gave her, they were getting a new one and asked her if she wanted it. I could ask her if I could use it but I don't know if it would be any cheaper by the time we bought the stuff. So if you want me to check into how much it would cost let me know, but if you go the other route I would like to get them for my df of 5!!!! I think your creation is really cute.

Hey I can't figure out who Karen or Rhonda is so I am just going to post my df info. here so we can join in. Also how do you make a picture small enough to fit on that site the pictures are on. Funny that a photographer is asking such a question, but my web-site does that automatically for me.

Here is the info. we have so far.

dh - brian
me- amy
ds- Jordan, 11 time of cruise
dd- Bethany, 8 time of cruise
ds- Jacob, 7 time of cruise

late seating
yes for dressing up on pirate night

I think that was it for what I needed if not someone let me know!!!!!

Thanks Guys!!!!
amy :yay:
