Hi we are joining you all, we are DH Eric 32, me - Teresa 32 and Julia who will be 20 months in September. This will be our second Disney cruise, we went on the 3 day Wonder last September (right after the hurricane in our area) that actually left out of Ft Lauderdale. Julia was 9 months at the time, but really enjoyed everything and we loved the Disney touch!

Anyway, looking forward to chatting with everyone, in particular anyone with small children.....

Teresa

Welcome newtodcl! This is gonna be a great cruise! This group is fun already!

I am so glad to hear your position on the roaming. I do not want my DD roaming freely either. I was afraid that if I told her "no" and all of the kids she met were getting to that she would feel left out.

As far as excursions go, I am having trouble getting my DD to agree to any. She says she wants to just stay on the ship. I will have to work on her the next few months. We are going to parasail at CC.

The Dis meet sounds really good to me. I really am not a wine drinker. I prefer mixed drinks, but I am willing try anything. I will contact a friend who loves wine and ask what I should bring. I live in Kentucky, so there are no local wineries here. We do make some of the best bourbon in the world. If anyone would like to try good Kentucky Bourbon, I can bring a couple bottles of that.

When we went on our 7 day dc in Nov./Dec. we allowed our 10 yr. old ds to check himself out but we gave him a radio and he had to call us on it and tell us he was leaving and if we did not respond he was not allowed to leave until he did. Then he had to come to where we were. We felt like this gave him a little freedom without over doing it. At least he felt like he was in control. He did not give us any problems with this and was always where he was suppose to be. This also allowed us to be ready to go back in forth with our other two dks.

As far as the dks chatting with each other, the way we did it was just to private message one another with e-mail addresses and then they took over from there.

What kind of radio did you use? Did they work very well? There was a thread on this board that discussed using these on board and every said that they really don't work because of the thick walls and all the different equipment on board that interfered with the transmissions. At WDW, we use the Disney Radios that are shaped like Mickey at the top, the ones you can order from Disney Direct. They worked very well at the park, but serveral people who were posted said they tried to use them on the ship and they did not work at all.

We ( me and my dh) just got back from Disney Today!!!! We went for 9 days, Kidless!!!!!!! How very mean right! My kids live at disney more then they do at home so they will live. We take one trip alone a year and anything else is family. Saturday was so crowded at MK we left right after walking in. But it was pretty empty the rest of the time. The best was that we got to be in the aud. for the millionaire show (the real show, tv camaras everything). It was really neat. Anyway I hope you are having a great time on the Wonder!!!!

We just bought rechargable radios from Target. There was three of them and I had one and my dh had one and our ds had one. We had no problem with them at all. I do have the princess radios like the mickey ones but I didn't even try them becouse we have never thought they were that great. But I could be in the room and hear my dh or my ds call me. Maybe you just need to check on real good ones. I wouldn't allow my dd to do this at 8 but our ds was 10 and we hardly ever let our kids out of our sight so this was just enough to make him happy and make me not go crazy worring about him. Of course he knew that if he would have left and wondered the ship that would have been the end of it. There were some very crazy teens on our ship. We never had any problems with them but some of our friends had problems. We all made magnets for our doors and one of them kept getting things taken. And then another friend overheard a mother being told if she did not control her kid they were taking her to the captain. I don't want my kids to be the kid that no one can stand seeing comming down the hall. But who knows hes only 10 it could be him someday!!!!! I will check on the type of radio that we have and let you know. Have a great night!!

Hello everyone!

I have to brag a little. Our team played the top rank team in our high school basketball region tonight and we beat them 66-65. My baby scored over half of the points that our team made. He hit a 3 point show at the buzzer to put us in overtime. Then hit the final shot that won the game for us. I just couldn't be more proud of him. We have suffered a couple rough losses in the past couple weeks. Our little boys need this one.

I told my very best girlfriend (who lives in Washington) that we are going on our second Disney Cruise and she said she would come with! :crowded: So, I added her to our reservation! Add one more to our party for the Wine and Cheese! She likes red wine (ugh) :crazy2: so I am sure she'll bring some from Washington. Now all we're gonna' talk about for the next few months is the cruise! :hyper2: Her husband was less than interested in joining us so it'll just be Me, Cindy and Mekayla!!!!! You girls will love her, she's a doll! I will give her the disboards address so she can join us. I am so jazzed she's coming. :cool1: We're gonna' fly out of Sea-Tac for sure now....I need good rates. What do you guys reccommend for flight finding? :scratchin

Alaska Airlines has some great rates. Check out their site. They have a flight that is non-stop. It leaves around 8 am and you'll get there around 5pm. The return flight isn't that great, you don't leave until 6 pm, but we are just gonna get a day room at the airport Hyatt and relax before the flight home. Way to go on recruiting more. But did you warn her that this is a serious addiction!! :teeth:

Now I bet that was a great game! Way to go!!!

They have a flight leaving the 15th at 11:00pm getting into MCO at 7:40am on the 16th. :teeth: It's a non stop flight...do you think that's cutting it too close? I know my way around MCO and I know we're getting a rental from Budget and driving to Port Canaveral and since it's a non stop flight the only trick will be catching the plane in Sea-Tac...whatcha' think? :scratchin I don't really want to get in on friday and hang out in Orlando....would you guys say this flight is a do or don't? :confused3 Lemme know... thanks. Amanda, I saw that flight #19 coming back at 6:00pm on the 23rd we'll have the rental car from Port Canaveral back to MCO so I think I'll kidnap Cindy and take her to Downtown Disney before the flight home. That looks like the one for us; but I dunno' about that flight #10 on the 15th.

It was! They even had highlights of him on the high school sports section of our local news last night. The only thing more excited than watching Stuart play basketball is knowing that we have less than nine months until we sail away into the sunset on the Disney Magic!!!!!!!

LOL That's too funny! I was thinking the same thing! :teeth: Actually don't we have less than 8 months?

I am thinking about getting the week long package have any of you guys ever spent that kind of time there? I was in once on the last cruise but it was just after a spa treatment and I didn't hang out long cause there were a lot of people :crowded: If you have the pass are there better times to get a seat and relax? Has anyone ever bought the multiple day pass, and was it worth it? Thanks for letting me know :sunny:

You know this will be our 3rd cruise and we have never done anything in the Spa. As a matter of fact I have never even seen the spa. We are gonna have to try something this time.

I'm going to hate to do it but DW and I will have to bow out of this thread. :sad1: We just rescheduled our cruise to the double dip on Nov 11.
Nothing against you fine folks. It's just that the the 4 nighter in Sept 05 kinda made our decision.

I actually wish I could go on both dates but work wouldn't allow us to take that much time off.

:wave2:

Hope you have a great time on your Double Dip Veterans Day Cruise! :cool1:
