I have just added picking up a couple bottles of Bourbon to my list of things to do before September. WldWcnWmn you do not sound like a "raging Alcoholic" at all. I personaly prefer mixed drinks. I have been reading these threads for several months, and I have a list of drinks that I intend to try. Everyone seems to have a favorite. I justify it by saying the fruit mixes make the drinks health. Can I get by with that?

This is a great idea. I am looking forwarding to meeting all of you.

Yup. Sounds like my kind of thinking. I am not a great wine drinker either, but my friend turned me on to Oregon Reisling...and oh my gosh it's yummy. It's light and fruity...perfect for a tropical fruit plate. I brought two bottles of willamette valley reisling on the last cruise to the wine and cheese and it went over well. ::yes:: I forgot to pack the bottle opener in the checked bag so the airport security took it from my carry on at check in. :sad1: But there were other, smarter cruisers at the wine and cheese who had a back up set. I have a clue now, though. It should be fun. We should do it.

I just realized that I have not been receiving the posts in my email account and now there's a lot to read here. Tell me the good stuff... I finally transferred my ressie to DU and got a $75 credit. I liked the $200 one somebody else here got..But I'll take whatever I can get, for sure.

Annae- We have an 8 yo boy as well. He'll be turning 8 in July. He was very jealous that his sister made internet friends before our last cruise, and is hoping to meet some other kids near his own age.

We were also pretty strict with our dd roaming the ship. We let her go to the lab by herself, or to the movies with a friend, or directly back to the cabin just ahead of us (if we were shopping or something), but that was it. It was our second cruise, and she was 11. Everyone says we're so paranoid/overprotective, but I come from a family filled with law enforcement, social workers, teachers, and nurses and hear all sorts of things. Also, she's not the roaming and terrorizing others type- so she didn't mind. We haven't let our ds (he'll be 8 this time) out on his own. I don't think he has good enough judgement for that yet. Maybe by the time he's 23 :rotfl2:

We'd also like to get together with everyone. Philadelphia doesn't have any city-specific alcohol, unless someone has come up with cheese steak beer  and I missed it somehow.

Julie

can't do the ticker thing- but off to China for Madalyn on Sunday. :sunny:

Skoi: My boys will be 8 in May. They did not like the clubs last cruise but they were in the younger group and I think it may make a difference this time since they will be in the lab. We'll have to ge them talking on the computer before the cruise.

Any 4 year olds joining the Oceaneers CLub? My DD did not want to stay in the Club the last two days of our 4nt cruise. I was thinking if I could find her a friend onboard, but at this age I don't know if it would make a difference.

Hello all , sorry to be away so long, but school has started up again and I am bracing myself for the storm of essays and tests that will be coming. So what did I miss? Everyone's turing to the bottle?! :teeth: If you tell me I promise I will come back!

WldWcnWmn I see your an orgegonian as well. What part of Oregon are you in? We're in Tigard. I too have a favorite Oregon wine, it's from Erath and it's wonderful. Now how do I get it from here to FL without breaking it? Or drinking it?! :teeth:

Well I hope everyone has a great Friday and a wonderful 3 day weekend. And as promised I will be back to find out about the raging party you all are planning!

We're in Eugene we carried our champange and wine in a carry on bag through the Portland airport. We packed each bottle (yeah there was more than one ::yes:: ) in bubble pack and I tried to remember not to throw down the bag everytime I set it down. The alcohol made it just fine. I was ready for a drink by the time we boarded, which was a good thing as my mom orderd a bottle of sparkling cider for DD and champange for me for the sail away party. :flower3: It's so cool you guys are so close! Lotta' love on the west coast for the Mouse! We should talk about air fare and transportation from PDX! :hyper2: I can't find a decent price from PDX to MCO yet...but there's time. Flying outta' Eugene is not an option as the fares are out of this world. :earseek:

Amanda, I could tell you to shut it, but you speak the truth! :teeth: But why the need for all the drinks? I intend on have several of those mango daqries (I can't spell!) !

WldWcnWmn, Unfortunatly my DH is very scared of flying so I had to find a non-stop flight. The only one I could find is out of Seattle on Alaskan airlines. You should check out that flight, it leaves out of Portland and then stops in Seattle then onto FL. and it's really well priced. I will definatly bring some wine now that I know I can get it there alright. How cool is this, a fellow oregonian on the Dis. The internet is a small world afterall. Hey did anyone just catch my disney pun there! :earboy2:

EDIT to add TOP FOR ME!!!! :cool1:

You like thatset for the top eh?????Ya lush!!!!!!!!!!!!! Takes one to know one;-pRight!@ HAHA

PS I told her you were from Oregon a few posts back! Catch up girly! Love ya! Mean it!:flower:

Alright there sassy! can you believe how close it is! :cool1: I am SSSSOOOOOO excited! I have been driving Eric crazy. Hey we need to plan when we're going to Palos together. Eric wants to go twice since it's a 7 day cruise. He won't admit it but he loves the ships almost as much as us! ::yes::

Hey guy! I've been gone about a week, and you guys have been busy. For those who have been on since I began posting, my favorite basketball player has earned a starting position on the high school varsity team. I am just so proud of him. Our school is hosting this huge high school boys basketball tournament that is an annual event and all the corporate sponsors give scholarships out each night. Anyway, I have helped the Boosters Club host the hospitality room all this week. I haven't made it home before midnight all week. Tonight is the last night.

I sure am glad to see more and more people posting with children in my DD's age group. I caught up on all the posts from the week and got so excited to see everyone begin to plan meets and Palo ressies! I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait to Sept!

Count us in for Palo's. It is so much better if you do a group. When we had ten adults for brunch they brought us all this pizza's. for dinner they brought us all the appetizers to share and a choc souffle for every one and one of every other dessert to share. It was so much fun. We had the big table in the middle. We did Palo's the last night which was a great way to end a wonderful vacation.

A big group sound fun. DH did say that he wants to have one dinner there just the two of us. He's so cute when he's being romantic. I think he just wants more of the choc. souffle!

Hey does anyone have a total on how Dis'ers there are on this cruise?
