09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

According to the most recent navigator's I could find for Eastern (1/20), unless I overlooked anything, the only Margarita & Tequila tasting was 4:00 on Monday. There was a Wine tasting offered at 2:00 on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. (For those of you who prefer other adult beverages, the Beer Tastings were 3:00 Monday and 4:00 Thursday. Martini Tastings 4:00 Sunday and 2:00 Thursday). They are $15. each, and you would need to book at Guest Services onboard.
This sounds like fun. We would definately go to the Margarita tastings. I am so excited for this trip!!!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop a quick hello, and move us from page 2!

I also wanted to let everyone know that I have taken over coordinating the lunch on the last day at sea! I do have a list that was sent tome from Lois. I will post the list after Easter when things calm down a bit for me...Then anyone who is not on the list and is interested can let me know. Also I have never done this before, so if anyone would like to assist me, please let me know!

One other thing that I had offered was to organize a group for early seating dining to link us all together at either the same table or a group of tables near each other, depending on the size of our group. So anyone interested please PM whenever and I will start up a list...I know one person had said yes awhile back.

Happy Spring to all!

Tina - Thanks so much for taking the luncheon over from Janet & Lois!!!

My husband and I have late dining but if anyone would like to start linking dinning ressies for the late seating, I would love to so feel free to PM me and I am sure I can find out how to do it for us late diners...

O.k. I am back and I promise not to go anywhere again. I was very very into planning a Jamaica trip last fall and got behind in reading before we left and with the holiday's and another trip to Jamaica in January I got really far behind. I also got hired by a travel agency to work nights and weekends. I have been a little busy. So, today I got caught up.

I have really missed everyone.

Kamgen that baby is adorable!!!

I noticed a couple others from the Chicagoland area. :wave2: I live in New Lenox.

I read a review about the Margarita tasting. They said that they did not taste Margarita's but only tequila. :confused3 They said it was not that enjoyable.

Hi. My husband are very late in the game in wanting to do a Disney cruise for this week with our then 16 month old daughter. I'm curious as to what others paid - I don't know if the prices are outrageous now (about $3500 for a stateroom w/ verandah) or if they are about average. Is that a decent price or should we say forget it and wait until we can book further out and get a better price?

TIA!

Erica

I think you got a good price. I am paying $3,167.89 for my dh, myself and my 5 year old. That includes insurance and transfers but not air. We are in a cat. 9.

Thank you. Our final quote ended up being $3,055.89 (All Taxes, Fees & Port Charges Included) for a category 6 room. It does include insurance, but not transfers (we live in FL and will drive). I guess that's a good price.

I think that is pretty decent at this point for a category 6! Hope you can join us! :goodvibes

Hope you join the group!
And WELCOME.

Heather, I read that you are staying at the Contemporary before the cruise and I will be at the Caribbean Beach. Are you planning on going to MNSSHP on Sept 14th?
Oh....man!!! There is a MNSSHP on the 14th!!! I may have to rethink about going down a day early just for the party.....

Yes! The date isn't official yet but we are planning on hitting it up! Maybe we can get a mini-pre-cruise meet going!

Well I talked to my DH and he is all for going down early for MNSSHP and I checked with my dad and he is willing to take Friday the 14th off work to start watching my kids a day early. DH and I could fly down on Thurs night or Fri morning so we could go to MNSSHP. Now I just have to figure out if we have enough DVC points left or maybe this would be a good time to pay cash and stay at the Poly... I guess it will all depend on MNSSHP really being held on the 14th. Do you know when they will be releasing the offical dates for MNSSHP? I would be up for a mini pre-cruise meet if we do go down early...

There are no dumb questions, just questions you don't know the answer to. MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. You get to dress up in costumes and trick or treat all over the magic kingdom. Even the adults. There is a special halloween parade and HalloWishes (Halloween fireworks). The headless horseman rides, story telling and dance parties. It is a special ticket event so you have to buy a separate ticket to go and it is from 7 to midnight.

I expect it to be official soon. They usually start selling the tickets the first week of May.

Last year they posted the official dates in April so I guess we have a few more weeks to wait. :goodvibes

Here's to hoping it soon!!! :cool1: :cool1: And that the 'expected' dates are indeed the 'actual' dates!!:goodvibes

I hope the 'expected' dates do become the 'actual' dates (well at least Friday the 14th) :thumbsup2 I actually booked our room at SSR so we will be flying into Orlando on Thursday night and hopefully there will be MNSSHP on Friday. If not I am sure we will find something to do on Friday :cloud9:

So now I have to figure out the best way for DH & I to get from Disney to Port. We were just going to buy a Disney transfer from the airport but now that we are staying onsite, I am not sure what we are going to do. :confused3 We are not staying at a resort where DCL picks up and it seems like a PITA to have to drag our luggage to another resort to take the DCL bus :sad2: So for those of you doing the parks before the cruise, how are you getting to port? What do you suggest?

We are staying at BCV. The bus does pick up there which is why we booked it. DH wants to hit Epcot on Friday so we are flying in early Friday morning. We have 2 one day passes that we are going to use up at Epcot. Hopefully, someone will have a suggestion for you. The only thing I could think of was to change from SSR to BCV. It is September and not as busy you might get lucky. Then you would only have to walk to the bus and off you go.
