09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

Good luck Heather! I know sometimes it is hard to convince the hubby to go for the verandah! ;) Steve LOVES having a verandah! Says it is the best place to relax before bed and the perfect spot for morning room service! :thumbsup2 But I have cruised a number of times in cat 10 rooms and was just so darn happy to cruise! LOL!
(But I vote verandah if you can swing it! :woohoo: )

Just booked last night for two adults (hubby and myself) and our daughter (4 at time of trip). I would like to have gone this year but am pregnant so put it off till next year. This will be our first cruise trip ever and since we love disneyworld vacations we decided to give it a try.

**Please dont blast me** but hubby and I decided to leave the baby with family while we and the eldest daughter go. He/She will be 9 months old but it was either go with eldest and get some breaks (due to the included activities for her age group) or hubby and I were to go somewhere by ourselves (we haven't had a vacation alone/or time alone since before pregnant with eldest).

But for anyone who cares I booked Category 6 close to the aft elevators (not sure if its wise or not to give the stateroom we asked for) but I don't have an issue with you nice people knowing - just didn't want anyone to get worked up for me setting a precedence that shouldn't be set.

Well - just wanted to get checked in with you all....

My husband and I booked our cruise last month. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. This year we will be setting sail with his mother and father celebrating their 35th yr anniversary  , our 7th year anniversary  , and my sister her huband and 2 kids (ages 12+5). My husband and I got a verandah room 7074 last year. This time we moved to the other side of the boat so we can watch them dock. I was so beautiful and relaxing to get room service in the am and eat on the open sea on your verandah. :coffee: . We tried to meet up with DIS friends last year but couldn't find anyone. :confused3 Hope we can meet up this time. Can't wait :cool1: :cool1:
Now i guess we just hurry up and wait. :hourglass
Any interesting professions out there?? My husband is a Firefighter and I am a Nurse???

Wecome Angelica and family, :cheer2:

So glad you'll be aboard. Your four year old will really have a great time with mom and dad.

It 's perfectly OK to give your stateroom if you want. Some people are just touchy about it, so I usually don't ask. I'm sure before we leave we'll all know where we are. My DH and I are on deck 8. Cat 3, next to Disney1955 and his family.

Best regards,
Dianna

Wow! Lots of celebrating to be done! party: Great you have so much family with you. You have your own little DIS group going. We will also be celebrating our anniversary. :goodvibes I don't think you'll have any problem finding this group this trip. We can start planning anytime for a DIS meet. It would be great if someone had the computer skills to keep a roster for us on a home page. I would if I could.
As for professions: I'm in early retirement. MY DH is Sr.Software Engineer. Not too interesting

Hey everyone! And welcome to the new folks! :wave2:
Anjelica- no flames from me! I am pregnant too and had to postpone our cruise to next year. But we are bringing both our little ones. Ryan will be 2 and the new one will be about 9 mths or so. BUT...we are bringing grammy!! :thumbsup2 Yes, my mom will be there to help out, so that will be a godsend! But to each his own...we just decided that we wanted to bring them and my mom really wanted to come...so it was an easy choice for us...but no flames here.....you will have a wonderful time and this will be great for your eldest to have some quality time with you after the new baby arrives! :cloud9:

Professions??? You mean, we are supposed to have jobs?? :lmao: Boring stuff here....Steve works for Costco Wholesale and I am a SAHM! Nothing too exciting! :p

Wish it wasn't so far off...I look at my ticker and gasp! Well, at least we have the DIS to chat about it! :grouphug:

Yes, I am out here. My travel agent in not in the office this week. She was willing to do everything for the road for me but I told her it could wait until next week.

I think I am first going to have her try to get a secret porthole room (I am pretty sure they are gone but I am going to have her double check) and if those are not available we are going for an outside room on deck 2, cat. 9. We will need two room together we would prefer connecting but will be happy to be together if they are the secret porthole rooms. The Verandah is out because my dh decided he wants a swimming pool like yesterday. We will be shopping in the morning.

My neice and I were in a cat 9 on deck 2 June 2005. We enjoyed the big round window. I think I could do any stateroom cat 10 or higher. The split bath is a deal breaker for me.

Have fun pool shopping. :sunny:

I agree! I can do anything cat 10 or higher...the split bath is a must!!! The baths are already so small that the split just eases the cramped quarters a bit! :thumbsup2
Good luck with the pool shopping...sounds fun!

Is our cruise really not until NEXT year?!?! :confused3 ....somebody pinch me... LOL!

Kamgen,
You're gonna get black and blue from bumpin' us up. Thanks for taking the abuse. Someone's gotta do it :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

I've been pretty busy working on this year's trip. I almost have my fish extender done. working on Lamar's grass skirt for the GSF, talking about the tux thing(rent or bring). Still have to buy Pirate outfits. pirate: Finished the invites for the party in our suite. party: I have a few more weeks thank heaven! :hourglass

I don't mind the bruises! :goodvibes

I am pretty much done planning our upcoming WDW trip....just a few last details....Funny how I planned that first and Ryan's birthday is more than a month before!

I am so jealous!! Have a great time for me! :p

PS- what is a fish extender and why do you need it? (am I the only one who doesn't have one? :rotfl: )

No Kamy,
you're not the only one without one. It is an 11 night thing. Started by one of the veterans. The purpose of the fish extender is to hold all the goodies that your fellow DIS cruisers may deliver to your stateroom. There is also a contest for decorating your fish extender. It is all voluntary of course. You can participate as much or as little as you want. The 11 day southern group is really large. I would guess that at least 20 of the staterooms have been on multiple cruises together over several years. There are about 90 - 100 staterooms on the roster, both newbies and veterans. Even though Lamar and I have been on seven other DCL cruises, this is the first time we have chosen to participate in most of the festivities. We are even going diving at Epcot after the cruise as one of the post cruise activities. You can visit post #5 of the 11 night thread to see all the pre, during and post festivities that my fellow DIS cruisers and I are lining up. All kinds of great info there about the 11 night trip if you're curious. popcorn::

Thanks for the info! I might need to go check that out.....pretend I am going to be there for all the fun

Sounds like a lot of fun with all the fellow disers...it is so nice to meet new people and catch up with those you have sailed with previously! We have done that on our last 3 cruises...but next year will be all new for us! Can't wait to meet everyone! :grouphug:

I have a funny story about the Epcot Dive tank. When we were there this last May, my sister who is a diver had my dd3 over by the tank where they dive. The divers were on the other side of the tank by the Coral Reef. All of a sudden one of the divers bee lines it to my sister and dd. He went right up to the glass and started waving. My sister use to dive with him here in Chicago. Small World!
