Hi everyone! I feel like I've been gone forever and its only been six days.
Thanks so much for all of Courtney's birthday wishes. We were up in the Dells for her birthday so she didn't see them until last night, but she thought she was some sort of celebrity or something since everyone took the time to acknowledge her special day. You guys are so great!
The dance competition went very well. Courtney was on fire. I wish I could post some pictures, but I lost my camera on Monday before I got the weekend pics downloaded. It was very sad for me. The camera itself was expensive, but those pictures are irreplaceable.
Courtney was one of five finalists for a ballet scholarship. They did an audition class over the weekened. There were about 200 kids in her age group and she was one of the top five. I was very proud of her. She didn't win, but the girl that beat her was amazing! I told Courtney that if she had to lose - that this girl deserved to win. Courtney agreed. She was also happy that she got callbacks for tap and jazz too (which are not her strongest disciplines....so another big accomplishment.)
I took pictures of her in all her different costumes - but you'll have to wait until the next competition to see them since my stinkin' camera got swiped.
After the weekend in Chicago we headed to the Dells. It was fun and all the kids enjoyed it. I was a little gloomy because of the camera incident, but I tried not to let it affect me too much. I'm glad to be home though. I need to focus on "real life" again.
I am so glad Courtney did so well. Please tell her congrats for me.
Sorry about the camera..that really hurts
Hi all, we are back from WDW. Had a great time with all the drill team girls although at times challenging with 19 girls! Good news is they won the National Drill Team Championship and our now the National Champions for the small high school division. The girls were thrilled.
Went to Hollywood Studios on Friday. Enjoyed the American Idol Experience and of course, Toy Story Mania.
Went to Magic Kingdom on Sunday. Thought it interesting that they no longer issue wristbands for extra magic hours and you just show your KTTW card instead. Guess they are cutting costs.
The one thing I noticed is all the stuff they have on sale (even in the parks). All the toys are 35% off, jewelry, timepieces and plush 25% off. There were some great deals. I didn't buy much, saving my money as much as possible.
Although, did get our annual passes with the DVC discount. Ouch! That took a large sum of money, but now we are good for a year.
Congrats to the team, that is awesome
Okay, work to do, it's Girl Scout Cookie Time!
Been there and done that...your are a very busy person. We just got our cookies last week.
Dianne,
How are baby and mom doing?
flo
Mom and baby are doing fine. we were afraid she would not arrive healthy..since some tests pointed to problems. But everything appears to be normal...They are still running some tests on the baby, since there is a possibility the child can be PKU. I have one grandaughter , who has this, she is a 1 in 10,000 baby. She must be kept on a low protein diet, no meat, no chocolate, no nuts, no dairy...its quite hard to prepare dishes for her..while most people would be taking candy and sugar away, she can have that with no problem, she get all the vitiamins from a measured formula she must drink daily.
It can be quite a experince, when you realize there almost nothing you can feed her.
