Hiya!

I'm a wee bit tired, and will be writing this up once and doing some cut and paste so don't think you're seeing deja vu if you see it more than once. ;)

Today went very well. We got there on time, they took her in at 8:30, surgery went a bit longer than they told us, at 12:30 the doc came out and gave the news, he removed the section with the tumor via the far less invasive lapriscopy, and at this point believes he got everything, short of the pathology report saying different. Mary is groggy, tired, sore, but otherwise doing well and resting in a room all to herself. Thanks for all the well wishes, I'll be going back to see her tomorrow.

So glad I checked this board before shutting down for the night. We're very happy that the news is optimistic. You're both in our prayers. Please give her our best. She'll be back on the DIS very soon I'm sure!!

Nancy & Dan

I can't believe how supportive everyone is here!! This is so great!!! I really can't wait to meet all of you!! My kids will love to meet other friends to play with.

Maybe it was a mistake having our first cruise be a MC because I'm afraid that nothing else will measure up.

Bruce, it sounds like you had one heck of a trip. I'm sorry to here about your FIL. I'm sure it was hard for your wife to have a b-day, come home from a trip and plan a funneral all in the same day. I'm so sorry.

Susie

We weren't sure about going on the member cruise because it was more money & points but it was so exciting to be on the Disboards with so many people all trying to call in at the same time. Then, talking to everyone here helped make friendships that will last a long time. Then it was a lot of fun at the pre-cruise Dis meet because it allowed me to put a name and face together. On the past two SSMCs I've been on, we received pins, an autographed picture personalized for the cruise, a picture of the entire group on Castaway Cay. You never know what to expect and that's part of the thrill. We took our Godson last year. He was 12 at the time and he loved the Oceaneer Lab. He had a blast as I'm sure your children will too!

Thanks for sharing and I will continue pixiedust: and prayers for Mary & you. I know when I had back surgery last June, Tom was coming into the hospital every day and tried to spend as much time as he could. I also had a private room but didn't request it. Somehow it just ended up that way.

Well it was a Very up and Down Trip.

Friday...1/30 driving down to WDW From CT. My wife "Nancy", Bruce Jr, and I. First stop was Emporia VA.

Saturday...GA my daugther called me and told me she had given birth to a baby boy "Jerimia" came about 2 weeks early mother and baby doing fine. My first Grandson I have 4 granddaughters.

We then Drove to Jacksonville FL. (Sat night) we stayed overnight and when de woke up 3 cars were broken into in the Hotel parking lot theives looking for computers glass everywhere. The Sheriffs told us they broke into 12 cars in that block. Luckily our car was intact.

Family meeting etc. He is in a 3 br apt and has 5 room mates . Nice place 24 hour security, heated pools, tenis courts etc a nice gated community all college program all under 21 so dry,

Tuesday.. Nancy and I went to EPCOT, went on Test Track and Soaring. Bruce Jr called said it was the happiest day of his life ... he passed the life guard swim test and we be taking Traditions class on Thursday. A half hour later the Convalesent Home called ... Bruce, I'm glad to hear that everything worked out for Bruce Jr. but am sorry to hear of Nancy's loss. Please send her our sympathy and regards. I know how difficult that is. When we went on the cruise last October, my Godchild's Mom got a call that her Mom had passed away. It was such an emotional thing. It was only our second day on the cruise so we told her if she wanted to go home, we'd go with her but as it turned out, her brother was in London and the siblings were trying to coordinate the funeral arrangements. Everyone back home told her to stay and enjoy her vacation because her Mom would've wante that! It was a very difficult decision!

And last but not least . . . . . party: Nancy :bday: party: Wish I was there for a piece of :cake:

Joanne,

Bruce, what a trip! Congrats to Bruce Jr. and on the new grandson. How wonderful! Please pass our sympathies on to Nancy. Losing a parent is painful enough, but Alzheimer's makes it even harder.

A co-worker just came back from Florida and she said they had to go over to DTD to buy sweat shirts! I'm glad I'm not vacationing down there right now. It's 12 degrees where I am but still wouldn't want to be in Florida with the cold weather. Afterall, it's supposed to be the sunshine state. :beach:
