It was very cool that we got to meet and I highly encourage anyone who can meet up before the cruise to do so!

I really liked BLT. The DVC reps made a comment before we went in that most people like it more in person than they do just from the photos and I agree with that. I really like a lot of the features. We're not in the market for an add on here but if I can ever get in at 7 months I'd do it.

We got some nice little things as well. I won one of the raffles and got a full size of the H2O shampoo and conditioner that they use in the parks. We all got a 2003 Member Cruise pin :confused3 and a family and friends discount card to be used at the Disney Store. I made good use of that buying for a little girl from the giving tree at church. When we left the store we got a Doorway to Dreams bag that included the 2008 DVC Christmas ornament. I'm pretty sure this is the same one they'll give out at the Merry Member Mixers. Love it!

Joanne,

It was way cool to be able to meet!:thumbsup2

I agree with Mary looking at the pictures I did not like at all. Now that I saw in person I like them. I am in love with the shower. I wish I had one like that. They are still working on the studio. In Februayr of 2009 they said they they are haveing a DVC gettogether. That will be nice.;)

I'm glad to hear that you guys liked BLT. I actually checked out the models at SSR yesterday and for me they really didn't do anything for me. But what I love about DVC is that there is something for everyone!

Everything is going great! I just moved from BWV to SSR today and as I am typing this, I can see DTD from my room!

I have definitely been doing many of the Christmas activites. So far I have done:
- Candlelight Processional -> Even better than I imagined
- Lighting of Epcot Christmas tree
- about 1/2 of Christmas around the World
- Osbourne lights
- MK Castle lighting
- Checked out decorations at GF, BWV, and SSR

This has been an amazing trip and I am truly being spoiled.

Glad it is so great!:thumbsup2

We ALL need to be spoiled once in a while and being at Disney makes even more magical.:)

How cool that you got to meet!

What did you all think of the BLT? (It's a little too modern for my old-fashioned taste, I think, but some of the features, like the shower, look very nice.)

I think it is great that they could meet. What a good way to get to know someone before the cruise.

We saw BLT as well and we found out we liked AKV much better and added on there, but to each their own. I am sure some will like BLT better than AKV.

We did not add on. With me not working right now that is not a good idea. If we add (witch I would love to) I think we would do on the cruise. But if we do add on I think I would rather do AKV instead. We stayed there in the lodge and I loved it. I liked getting a cup of coffee in the morning and sitting on the balcony and watching the animals.

I don't mind at all, we are from Millbury, not too far from Webster.

Awesome! I am in the area almost every weekend. My mother still lives in Webster and I am down to visit her at least twice (if not 4 times) a month. Plus one of my sisters is in Worcester.

A 2003 pin!?? WITW? The DVC ornament is nice, anyway :thumbsup2 . Sweet that you won a prize, too.

Flo, we're going to be down at WDW in February. Is that DVC get-together going to be in Illinois?

I'm right there w/you. We love AKV; there's something very cool about walking out on your veranda and watching the animals. We're so lucky to be going in 2 months. :woohoo:

I think the only reason I'd like to try BLT (did they realize their acronym is a sandwich?) is to watch the fireworks from the room. I would like to see the rooms in person, though, I think.

Good morning everyone! It is Monday but I'm not headed to work. Lucky me gets to go downtown to jury duty. :lmao:

Not sure why they gave away the 2003 pin but I know for pin collections it is a good one to have. Guess it was a good way to give away something they (DVC) can't use again. :confused3

Guess we are in the minority but I have no real desire to stay at AKV. That doesn't mean we never will but it would never be on the top of my list. A little too dark for my tastes. I feel the same way about VWL and I know others love it. That is the great thing about DVC - so many choices that there is something for everyone!

Sounds like you are having a great time! Candlelight Processional is one of our favorites and really brings the season home to us.

You didn't mention it but if you saw the Epcot tree lighting I'm sure you also saw the Lights of Winter. That is the large structure that leads up to the tree which lights up in time to the music being played. We love it!

Isn't the castle beautiful with the new icicle effect?

So glad you are having a great time. Did you get a chance to go to the DVC Merry Member Mixer?

Yes, I did see the Lights of Winter. It was really cool.

The castle is realy amazing! I was also able to see the castle lighting ceremony which was neat.

Today I am doing the Yuletime Fantasy Tour.

QUOTE]
Sorry it is at Doorway to Dreams in Illinois. I think some one said February 20th and 21st. They will have the model of the studio done by then. DVC does these there about twice a year. I guess it is a way to get people to buy more points.

I also like it because I get my Disney fix.;)

Mary,

Good luck with jury duty. If you don't get on one I hope they let you go home early. That would be nice. Do you drive down? I usualy take the train. The traffice down there is to much for me.

Good Morning everyone. I have not been able to get on the computer since last Friday and it has been driving me crazy!!!!! :scared1: Our internet is still not fixed at home. My DH is getting very upset.

Great to see the photos of you guys, Flo and Mary. That would have been a fun time.

We would love to go to Disney during the Christmas season some time. My DH says it is on his bucket list of things to do. :rotfl: It sounds amazing.

We are in for some real bad weather they are saying. We are under a winter storm watch starting tonight at 6:00 pm. They are forecasting 3-6 inches of snow by tomorrow. Yuk! It is to start tonight with freezing drizzle, changing over to snow. Then be blowing and drifting.

Have a good Monday!!!!!!

Check out the new store that is opening in Down Town Disney today. I am goingto have to check it out in September. I like to do things like that.

Downtown Disney and Hanes team up on T's

The most visible sign yet of the 10-year deal signed in 2007 between Walt Disney World and Hanes Brands Inc. is expected to debut today when the Disney's Design a Tee Presented by Hanes shop begins a soft opening in Downtown Disney's Marketplace.

The shop, next to The Art of Disney store at the east end of Downtown Disney, will allow customers to use one of eight touch-screen kiosks to design their own short- or long-sleeve T-shirts, featuring more than 300 items of Disney art and up to four lines of text, and have them printed while they wait.

"They select a shirt style, color and art, write a personal message or select from a set of programmed messages," said Hanes marketing director Dudley Gentry.

Prices range from $20 to $30. Shirts are made in about 15 minutes, he said, and patrons can wait and watch them being made on video screens, pick them up later or have them delivered.

Chris,

I know what it is like to be with out the internet and I go crazy.:scared1: Here is some :wizard: .

We are not under a winter storm watch like you but we are supposed to get snow and sleet and then some light rain later. We are getting it all at once.:confused3 Then some snow on Tuesday and Wed. Oh well.

We are now under a freezing rain advisory till 3:00 this afternoon.

I think DVC will be sending out invites. This is through them and not the DIS.
If I get one I will post.

The pictures of the icy castle are so gorgeous that they were enough to make us want to go in December, but now reading about your vacation, we know there are a lot of things we want to do in WDW in December. Sounds wonderful; enjoy the rest! And please let us know how it was :) .

This is one of the reasons we live in VA (so watch, we'll have freezing rain tomorrow :rotfl: Nope, I just checked the weather; we may have thunder storms on Wed.).

Ughhh. I hate freezing rain. We are supposed to start with that later this afternoon. Be careful out there. And thanks for the :wizard: We need some of that.

Joanne, I would take thunderstorms any day over this cold stuff. It is the pits!
