09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009

Because this cruise is during the normal school year, I was told that the amount of kids on the cruise is a lot lower.

Has anyone taken their high school level kids out for the week to go on the member cruise?

Needless to say, our daughter wasn't too thrilled, when we told her that we may be going on this cruise (Anniversary present) was a possibility....

We got the usual DVC confirmation for the cruise, just like the ones we got for our AKV stays before and after, all by regular mail.

We got ours as well today, we're in California, postmarked the 11th as well.

Hi....We took our daughter on a Disney cruise (it wasn't a Members cruise) in October 2007 for a 7 day Western.....she too wasn't too thrilled. She ended up taking her laptop and some books with her. But....she took one of her books to the pool one time....she finally said that she will catch up with her work when she gets home. She enjoyed the cruise and had no trouble catching up with her school work. She was 17. She will be 18 on Saturday

Thx! - We had one bad experience where the independent study packet we took on the ship, got left in the seatback holder on the flight home. Ouch!

How many folks show up at the BCV Solarium meet? We may be staying there pre/ post trip, even though AKV and SSR are our home resorts.

Does any body know why the Cat 1 & 2 suites are not available for booking on this cruise? Does this happen on every member cruise?

Am I correct in assuming that that beyond the DVC gifts, that there are other special items, like pins & posters done by and for sale by DCL for this event?

I did not know you could do this on the member cruise. Now I have to think about it.

I have not received any confirmation yet from DVC but then again I have not checked the mail in two days.
