I'm just curious how many of you take your children out of school for this cruise? I'd love to go especially since they spend 2 days at castaway cay but with school just starting I think that would be hard to pull off.

We homeschool, so we have way more flexibility. Dd is in high school through an online private school, but she can work ahead and/or make up work fairly easily so we're good.

We took our kids out in 2007, didn't take them with us in '08, and are planning on taking them in '09. As they get older (ours are 13 & 7) it gets harder and harder, fortunately they are good students and the teachers are more lenient. They didn't have too bad a time making up their work in '07, it was done by the time we got home from the cruise. We will see what this year brings.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday!

One day closer to call in!

Happy Halloween!

We are looking to go in 2010 also. I'll be lurking Sunday morning to see how everybody does with their dialing! Good Luck and Happy Halloween!

You need a bit of persistance and patience to get through (which is why in the past we've met in chat to cheer each other on).

I will say that in the past 4 years everyone from the DIS who has triend to get in on booking day has. Just maybe not as quickly as they would have liked. :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

You will be missed next year on the cruise Gary! The tally keeper and the singing with Pirates along with the "Special haircut"...LOL

Take Care

I am having second thoughts on this cruise - we could do an eastern for not much more. Guess I have until Sunday morning to make a final decision. But, I wish you all luck and pixie dust and hope you all get booked.

:tink: :tink:
It sounds like it is very hard to get through....I'm guessing alot of people get turned away?????

WDWLVR is absolutely correct----:thumbsup2
We were on the Members Cruise 2008.
DH and I had several cell phones handy and a landline....if it was busy.... we kept calling until we got through. Make it fun!!!!!!
Good luck and lots of pixie dust:tink: :tink:
Take care.....Monika:flower3:

Is the chat room going to be open Sunday morning? Good luck to everyone!

Karen put a request in with admin but I don't know if she has heard back yet. If there is we'll announce it in the thread. If there isn't we'll just chat here on the thread. :)

Unfortunately, I haven't received a reply from Alex or Admin yet.

Well we'll just have to keep posting here and keep everyone informed. The bottom line is we'll still be supporting each other! :thumbsup2

Thanks for trying Karen!

I am new to DVC. I have not even had my first visit "Home" (we go in Feb). But, DH and I have also talked about going on another Disney cruise. We have not been on one since our honeymoon 6 years ago. The members cruise seems like a good cruise to get reacquainted with Disney cruises. We are planning one for 2012 with some friends but it 2012 is soooo far away. I think we will be dialing in on Nov. 2.

Has anyone taken a toddler on this cruise? Our DS will be 2 1/2 by September 2009.

I just wanted to wish everyone luck on Sunday with their dialing!! I won't be traveling next year, too much going on and definatly no cash now. My 1998 vehicle died and I bought a new car today - well new to me - a 2005 Equinox :) :)

So needless to say daily transportation trumps cruise - ha ha ha.

Good luck everyone!!!

Good morning everyone -happy Saturday!

One more day until call in day!

Good luck to everyone calling in!

For those of you who have decided not to wishing you all the best. Everyone has to do what is right for their familiy.

BigDog - sorry I can't answer your question on toddlers as we don't have any children. I do know that on the DIS group in 2005 and 2006 there were a couple of families that had toddlers. About the only thing I can tell you is that the speakers/entertainment is geared more towards adults. The plus for the children is that there are less children on board so the club/pool/beach are all less crowded than on a regular cruise. Hope that helps.

Best of luck to all of you calling tomorrow! I can officially say you won't regret going - it was a blast!!! Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed tonight, so you're not calling for an hour needlessly. I'll check in tomorrow to see how you're all doing with it!!!

Morning Everyone!

Tomorrow is the day! :woohoo: I am getting so excited.:woohoo:

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!
