09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Well Hello everyone..its been a long time since I have been here. and lot has been happening.

is let me say I miss you all so much, and miss the sunrise club

well Michael is back at work for about 2 weeks now.

My DS is finnally setting his wedding date 8-20-11 at Bush Stadium...it should be fun, they are getting married at home plate.

Next, My DD wants the whole family, to do our reunion trip to WDW in Dec of 2011.

Well since DH has not worked in a year, and alot is happening next year. We just cannot afford to join you all for the SSMC11. We are very sad about that.

So now we are shooting for 2012


Now for my health, as most of you know I have not been feeling good for a long time. Well here is the scoop, I got a sinus infection that I thought would not go away...Doc gave up on me and was sending me to another Doc. So I went to my other Doc. and they tell me they think it is work related Asthma.

They have been remodeling at work downstairs, and it seems to be affecting me big time. So now I have meds and inhalors. They believe when the remodel is done, so will my Asthma. They won't let me work from home. and they won't move me to another office, cause they say it will be done in a few weeks.

Then I started having a little bit of a female issue, and had a proceedure this morning. So I am recovering now...with Gods help.


Well hope to catch up to all of you on the 2012 SSMC cruise.!!!!

Wow you have a lot going on! That's great news that Michael is working again.

Gee, I hope that you feel better soon.

We're still on the fence about SSMC11. Can't wait to hear back from those on this years cruise and how it compares to past years.

Sue I think I saw yesterday that the point charts are now up.

Dianne - Congrats to Michael on the new job and your son on the upcoming wedding. Sorry to hear about your suffering. Here's hoping that the work does end quickly and so does your Asthma. Some extra pixie dust for the procedure as well. 2010 has been a rough one for you and Michael - here's hoping the coming year is filled with nothing but good news!

My DD to be has already gotten her dress and so have her brides maids. Too soon for me. I am trying to lose weight, not because of the wedding, just because I need to...I have already lost some. clothes are getting a little loose. Yea...So I will wait until some time next year to get my dress.

I think I have lost 20 pounds since we were in Chicago. got it figured out, If I lose 1 1/2 pounds per week. I will be the weight I was when we were wed. in Oct of 2011....sweet.

Well from what little I've read here and there I can now say we are out for the next Member Cruise. Sounds like same old same old to me including those little suitcases that you know I love so much. So I guess DVC doesn't really care what we had to say at all and really only wants to attract first time member cruisers. Sad.

Sounds like all who went had a great time but what it seems everyone enjoyed most was meeting their fellow DISers and the FE gifts etc. You can have a great DIS group on any cruise and for a lot less money.

Still interested to hear what those who went in both 2009 and 2010 thought.

HI IVE never been on this thread before but have been on the 2010 dvc member thread started by Marsha. We have done the last 4 member cruises. We have had fun on all 4. We dine with the same 8 people. We made friends with them on our first member cruise so we link with each other every year. Infact this year im driving 7 hours to BOSTON on call in day to stay with them. This year was different for us, we joined up with the FE group on the DVC MEMBER CRUISE 2010 thread. We really enjoyed that and made friends with many from the DIS BOARD. Because we have been on the last 4 member cruises we have noticed that DVC hasnt done as much but I think if you ask someone who cruised for first time would have thought it was GREAT. It was the friends we made and some(RUM drinks)that made the cruise more enjoyable for us. If anyone was in our dinning group we were the noisy table at the back When I did get a chance I did comment to what ever DVC REP how we felt. They told me they had received similiar comments from others.

Well thanks for letting me Post on here still hoping to get on next years cruise. We enjoyed all the Dis members we met. By the way IM IAN.

Hi everyone! I just got back from my DVC vacation last night. I had a wonderful time. The weather at Castaway Cay was gorgeous. The cruise was wonderful. But, I would echo what Ian (dvc deernut) stated. This was my second year on the member cruise and it was a repeat of last year except the food was delicious and well seasoned. I do not think I will be going on next year's cruise since we will be cruising on the dream in Aug. 2011 with our friends. I will be posting pictures soon.

Oh Mary, that is absolutely fantastic news!!! I think about you all the time and always have you in my prayers.

I am beginning to rethink the members cruise for this year. And Mary, you're right, we could just get together on another cruise and spend alot less! I really noticed a big jump in the points chart this time, and if the DVC is going to continue to ignore our requests and remarks, then why should we spend the extra. We ssmc09ers could just pick a date that would be good with everyone (hopefully a majority) and have a blast!! What does anyone think about that?

Glad to hear that you had fun! But your post and Ian's post is making it easier to decide not to do next year's cruise. Of course, that fact that I will be at Ak during call in day makes it easy also. Why would I spend all day on the phone when I'll be at WDW?

Check your mail! I got the card from dvc today about the call-in for SSMC11 - it's Oct. 2nd !!!! I thought Chris said it was Nov. 6. Oh well. It's here! But it said to look on dvcmember for point chart - not there yet!

All alone for the deck 9 sunrise coffee club. Granted it is a different table because they have redone the soda station area on deck 9 so we picked as close a table as we could. But see, he was so lonely. So, just saying, we thought of each and every one of you from last year when we took this picture, saying, God I wish everyone was here!

Awww - I know the feeling. I was feeling it on my July cruise. Had company a couple of mornings and two guys I really like, but it just wasn't the same as our group last year.
