09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 2!

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I have been members since '95. We sailed on the Magic during the inaugural season, before they were even letting us use our points. We have taken a number of cruises, but only the one on DVC. We were never able to book the member cruise until this one!

My questions are about the dining. We want to book Palo as soon as we can, but I don't know what night to request. I don't want to miss the first night, the last night, or pirate night. Does anyone know which night will be Pirate Night on our 4 night cruise? Does anyone know how you find out what dining rotation you will have? Is it by cabin number? I assume the ship will be full - no empty cabins.

If you have sailed on DCL before you can book at 90 days out which is 6/15/09. If you haven't sailed on DCL before you can book at 105 days out or 6/30/09.

When will Disney tell us more info about the cruise? Has anyone taken this cruise before who can tell me what sort of things to expect?

We are two adults with no kids. Well actually, we each have one. I have him and he has me! Because of various family and work obligations, we haven't really had a trip to WDW since '05. We have serious Disney withdrawal, and can't wait! I hope the weather is nice for us.

Pirate night is usually the second night of the cruise (so after our first stop at Castaway Cay). You really won't know what rotation you are on until you get on the ship.

No new news that we've heard from DVC but many of us wish they would update the website.

As to what to expect if you go to the first post in this thread you'll find a link to our group website. There are reviews there from past member cruises that my husband and I have been on. Hope this helps.

My favorite is the Animal Kingdom. Can you say Legend of the Lion King? Second is a local favorite, CEDAR POINT!

Glad you could join us! We are two adults to. THis is are first member cruise and are 5th Disney cruise over all.

We will be working around the house this weekend, And Monday meeting friends at the race track. I just love watching the horses run. We just don't do it very often.

Looks to be another beautiful day here in Chicagoland.

Here's hoping for a safe shuttle landing today (postponed from yesterday due to the weather). Also hoping for a safe voyage of the Magic today as I have friends sailing on her.
