EVERYONE MUST BE DOING THE SAME THING WE ARE, PADDLING AROUND IN THE POOL WITH A MOJITO IN ONE HAND:cool1:THOUGHT ID POST A MESSAGE AGAIN TO GET OUR THREAD BACK TO THE FIRST PAGE.

i see posting in here where maryland had earthquake. I havent heard yet, what was the magnitude and where was the centre. Any damage?

Terrie - your story about climbing the fence and feeding oreos to the raccoons cracked me up! I'm glad they didn't try to eat YOU!

Scott - we are doing parasailing and jet skiing and bike rentals. I am so jealous of your son's team. Our little league only scheduled FIFTEEN games for the season, we only got to play TEN. I'm so furious. This isn't the first year they haven't been able to finish all their games, but this is the most games that have been cancelled without being made up. Congrats on a great season, though!!

Marsha - I forgave DH when Pooh Bear finally calmed down and I knew she was going to be ok. ;)

Ian - I hope you're ok from the wasp attacks!!

Thanks to everyone for the congrats on paying off our DVC loan. It IS a GREAT feeling!!

Ian - I found this in an article from a "google" search:

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 3.6 magnitude earthquake centered in Montgomery County at 5:04 a.m. Friday. The epicenter was in Gaithersburg near I-270 and Route 124 (39.145 degrees N, 77.222 degrees W), USGS reported in a preliminary finding. Its depth was 3.1 miles.

Authorities in the District and Montgomery and Arlington counties said there were no early reports of damage. Still, many residents were dialing 911 to report the rumbling.

Good to know it wasn't too major!

Too bad you can't swim yet. But isn't the water really cold? I mean our pool is up around 88 degrees. 86 is ideal. I won't even get in if it is below 80. We have a thermal heater and a gas heater that we use to get the pool warmed up in the spring and then we put a solar blanket on the pool at night to keep the warmth in. We love our pool. In it every night after work and then on the weekends. It is so relaxing. How big of a pool did you get? Is it an above ground pool? You are gonna love it!

We laughed because we put the solar cover on as soon as it was full and about 6" down it is SOOOO warm and then - COLD!!! I LOVE cold water - DH needs his to be warm!!! He gets cold easy. We got a 18' round above ground and cannot wait to get in. Today they hooked up the filter and brought our stairs - they were back ordered - so the girls and I will probably take a swim tomorrow!!!:banana::banana:

I forgot we do have a thermometer - I have to go put that in!!!

:yay:

Hope you are able to get in today and enjoy. It is going to be hot here. We are to be in the 90's so I'm sure we will be out in the pool. :woohoo:

Good morning everyone. I am so happy it is the weekend.:banana:

IVE BEEN DOING GARDENING IN THIS SUNNY HOT HUMID WEATHER. GOt stung by WASPS the other day, I was lying under some shrubs trimming didnt realize they were there. Got me about 5 times. One stinger must of hit a bloodvessel, it swelled up looks like bruise with big red area. My wife the RN told me to take Benydryl just in case and watch to see if im allegic. There seem to be many this year. EVERYTHING IS EARLY HERE THIS YEAR.

Ian, be careful. That is rxactly why I do not do gardening. :rotfl2:

We would drive 10 hours to ANNAPOLIS just to eat CRAB CAKES. We had great Crab Omelettes at this NYC style Deli right in old part of Annapolis. I think its called Ruth and Chucks. im not sure. They still run and work in it and very friendly. We stayed across the street from the Govenors Mansion in old Annapolis. Laura actually lured a cat from the back of the Mansion at night to pet.:rotfl2: The hotel we stayed in had a room with glass floor so you could look down to see where they brought the prisoners from I think Spanish American WAR.

We are about an 1 1/2 from Annapolis. But, we do not go there very often. DH does not eat seafood. But, I am fortunate to live near many places that sell delicious crabcakes and crab balls. YUMMO. I can easily get my craving satisfied.

Marsha, Scott & anyone else from the Maryland area, hope all is well. The news was just reporting on an earthquake out there. How scary. Be safe.

Thank you. We did not even feel the earthquake though. When I turned on the television to the news I was shocked. The earthquake was about an 1 1/2 hours north of us.

I can't believe I didn't have pages and pages to catch up on. Although the pool is up and full - they have not come to hook up the filter - they are waiting on a part so I have had a pool in my yard for three days and can't swim:confused3!!!!

We are building the deck ourselves - my Dad, DH and I - so hopefully that goes smooth:worried:. My Dad is excited about having a purpose - but he is not able to work like he used to. I have to tell myself that it os ok if it takes him longer - he and DH built our shed - in two days from the ground up with siding.

Anyways----we only booked the floats for two days and bikes for one day. I didn't know if we needed to do it now or could do it there - but I went ahead and listed them now....plus I needed some type of Disney work!!:)

Off to work and then grocery shopping - I haven't been for a couple of weeks and we are out of A LOT!!!!:upsidedow

Have a great Friday all - the weekend is almost here!!!

Sorry that you are not able to use the pool yet. I hope you will be able to use it soon. Hopefully, you will have nice weather so that you can build the deck.

Ian, thanks for keeping us on the first page. :thumbsup2 But, I was not paddling around in the pool, especially since we do not have one. :sad2: I've just been busy at work. This weekend should be relaxing after I do the :laundy:, go grocery shopping, deliver flyers for our neighborhood National Night Out event, straighten up the house, etc., etc., etc., :scared1: When will I have time to relax? :confused3:laughing:

I believe the earthquake was a 3.6. The center was somewhere in Montgomery County. People in VA and PA felt it. I did not feel it. There was no damage. People were a little startled and shaken up a bit.

Glad the part came in and you will be able to enjoy your pool today. :yay:

GOOD MORNING, ANOTHER SCORCHER HERE. We plan on going on next years cruise if we are lucky enough to get thru on phone in day.

Good morning! Hope everyone is having a WONDERful weekend so far!

We would like to go on next year's member cruise, but we'd really like to take the kids the first time we go on the Dream, and since the cruise is in September, they can't go since they're in school. :sad1: So, we may do a 3 night cruise when they are on fall break on October.

I'm not one of those parents who refuses to take my kids out of school. We took DS out of Kindergarten and 2nd grade for a week each time to go to WDW/DCL. In 2nd grade it was a surprise, he had absolutely NO idea. I packed his and DD's clothes while they were at school/daycare and put the suitcases in the trunk of the car. So they never even saw the suitcase. So, when we got to the airport and DS saw his luggage he started CRYING! He was devastated that we took him out of school. So, we told him we wouldn't take him out of school anymore to go on vacation.

Oh, man, that is too bad. But then again, glad he likes school so much that he doesn't want to miss out! ;)

WOW, it is already hot and sultry outside this morning. Went out to the garden and picked green beans, peppers and cucumbers this morning and started sweating already. Plus the mosquitos are horrendous. I think they could carry you off!

I think I will go lay by the pool and pretend I am sitting next to the Quiet Cove pool and relax. Any one else want to join?

I was just looking at our list of friends on the website and thought I'd say:

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO BULENT (7/9) and Chase (7/10) (Breraurora's DH and DS)

I don't remember wishing either of you a Happy B-day. :upsidedow (If I did wish you a happy b-day, then this is just early for next year. :rotfl2:)

My DH (tim) 10 played on 2 teams actually so he had 16 regular season games then with his travel team played the others but yeah a lot of baseball. He loves it. Always worried about burnout but it has been totally his choice. Tough being coaches son however as they ususally get the brunt of the higher expectations but he has excelled. Proud of him!

Did not feel the earthquake down in Ocean city but my dog jumped out of bed around 5:15 and was certainly spooked by something. My brother in Middletown said he sat straight up in bed and sounded like a train was rolling through his house.

Heading to beach for hour then to Baltimore to watch the Orioles. (free tickets and have to duck the airplanes with our seats) :rotfl2: but nothing like sitting at the yard watching the game. Gonna go early and watch batting practice.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Scott
