09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #1

THE POOL GUYS ARE HERE!!!!

OK so I am done with my excitement...but I can not wait to swim in my pool!!!

Chris we did have to have the photos taken there - $15 each for those. They suggested other places but the fee was the same no matter where we went. I should have done them myself - but was afraid. The $1.10 was the fee to buy the money order from the post office to send the $270....luckily we still have plenty of time before the cruise, my friend was going to Canada for a conference and was late getting hers - had to pay an additional $40 to have it rushed.

So with the pool, passports and cruise - which I just finally paid off - we are officially done spending money for a while!!!

I almost believed myself - yeah right - next we have school shopping!!!

OK enough crazy for the day - have a great day all.

Nikki, when will your pool be finished? Hope you will be able to enjoy it by this weekend.

You will never believe this - it is up and filling with water!!!! We had more than half of the water delivered so we will be filled enough by tomorrow to have the filter hooked up. My Dad is planning to start the deck this weekend!! I am soooo excited!!!

I googled the SNL Landshark skits and watched one from 1975. I would have been 6 years old then I saw that they did the Landshark skits on and off for many years I don't remember seeing them though and I've watched SNL on and off since I was 10. If my mom knew I'd started watching at that age she'd have a cow

Nikki how fun! I remember when we got our pool when I was little it's so exciting watching it fill up. But it is so hard to wait when it seems like it's so close to being ready. Enjoy swimming!

Wow it still has been slow around here. Our computer didn't want to work yesterday. I'll be surprised if it works most of this week with all the rain we are supposed to get. For some reason it rains and our connections goes out.

Just booked MNSHP for 9/18. Anyone going to the Food and Wine Festival in October? I think booking for events starts 7/20. I know some sell out real fast. Terrie how exciting for you- hope you get BLT.

Love Golden Retrievers. We are on our second one and she is such a good dog. Her name is Tessa. She is not as pretty as yours, but to us she is great, and we live in the country and she runs free while we are home. And she loves, I mean loves, to play ball. You can't throw it enough for her.

And yeah, I hear ya about the money spending. And yes, school shopping is right around the corner. The stores already have supplies out for purchase. Our school starts on August 19th, ughhhhhhh. How about yours?

Vicki - we are doing MNSSHP on the 18th too. We love going during that party. And we are doing Food & Wine Fest during the first weekend of November. That is just a me and DH trip though.

We are getting som much needed rain now, actually thunderstorms. So, where is everybody? Can we get to a second thread by the end of this week? At the rate we were going, I was sure that we would.

Agree about finally some rain. Much needed indeed. Looking at some thunderstorms right now watching the all-star game.

Terrie-good luck getting BLT I hope you get it and it is a better experience than we had.

I can't believe no one caught my suggestion of instead of extra magic hours having extra DVC hours. There are certainly enough of us that they could do that.

One thing that was really neat about this years trip is that we felt comfortable with my 13 year old going and getting fast passes. He was excited to have the responsibility. He did a great job and finally admitted to a suspicion we had. Our last day we had breakfast set up at Crystal Palace. It was cool we got in the park about 10 min early and they had some photopass people taking pictures so we got a pic sitting in front of Walt and Mickey in front of the castle. Back to my story. We went to breakfast and my DS said I am gonna go and get FP for space mountain. We were seated and already had my Mickey waffle and thought he was taking to long. Well the knucklehead had jumped on the ride as it opened and then got the FP. His mother gave him some grief but I was happy that he did it. Cool story to tell his friends when school starts.

Ok time for bed National league won all-star game woohoo.

Yeah, I read your experience. I am so sorry At least now, if we do get ressies there I know to keep my expectations low That is a hoot about your DS I totally would have done the same thing, even now at 41

We are to have terribly hot weather here today. It is supposed to be around 94 degrees with heat indexes up towards 105 . And of all days, my girls started detassling today so they will be out in a cornfield most of the day. Good thing they took lots of ice water and gatorade with them.

IN MY YOUNGER DAYS MANY MANY MOONS AGOWHEN WE WERE KIDS WE USED TO GET UP AT 5am GO OUT AND WORK ON THE FARMS HERE IN NIAGARA. I DID EVERYTHING FROM PICKING STRAWBERRIES IN THE LATE SPRING TO CUTTING GRAPES IN THE FALL. NOW ALL THAT IS DOWN BY JAMACIANS AND MEXICANS EXCEPT GRAPES ARE NOW SHOOK OFF THE VINES WITH MACHINES, UNLESS YOUR CUTTING GRAPES FROM ICE WINE WHICH ARE CUT ON THE COLDEST NIGHTS OF JANUARY.
