Morning

Ian, question about the little chair that Laura is sitting on. Is it supplied by Disney or do you rent it or did you bring your own?

HI ANITA!! ALL THE CHAIRS AND UMBRELLAS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE. YOU JUST FIND A CHAIR THAT NO ONE IS USING PARK YOUR STUFF THERE AND DO WHAT EVER. If YOUR GOING TO SERENITY BAY WHERE THAT PHOTO WAS TAKEN THERE ARE MORE CHAIRS THAN UMBRELLAS. THE EARLIER YOU GET THERE THE BETTER SPOTS YOU GET. YOU DONT RENT THE CHAIRS OR UMBRELLAS. AS YOU CAN SEE WE GRAB A CHAIR AND PUT IT IN THE WATER. THEY WILL COME DOWN THE BEACH TO TAKE YOUR DRINK ORDER>

YOU CAN SEE SERENITY BEACH IS LONG AND THEY PUT OUT CHAIRS AND UMBRELLAS A LONG WAY DOWN THE BEACH. THE EARLIER YOU GET THERE THE CLOSER YOU CAN BE TO BAR AND BBQ AREA.
AT THE FAMILY BEACH AREA ITS MORE CROWDED BUT THERE ARE LOTS OF CHAIRS AND UMBRELLAS.

Hi all - well we gave in and went and got passports....$431.10 later we will have them in 4-6 weeks.

Apparently we were not the only ones who wanted to save some money there were quite a few others in our little small city post office today!!

OUR PASSPORTS UP HERE IN CANADA COST $80 GOOD FOR 5 YEARS.
IS IT HUMID WHERE EVERYONE ELSE IS. WOW IT WAS ONLY 75 HERE TODAY WITH HUMIDITY MAKING IT FEEL LIKE 95. IVE BEEN OUT IN YARD KILLING MYSELF. BY THE TIME IM DONE I WILL FIT LAST YEARS CLOTHES:rotfl2:
WELL IM OFF TO FALL INTO POOL sEE YA ALL LATER.

Chris - good to hear you had such a great weekend!

Nikki - I feel your pain about the $431.10 being spent on the passports. But, believe me, you'll feel much more comfortable having them. It's just an added sense of security. Glad you were able to make it in to the Post office before the rate hike, too!

Ian - It was in the upper 80's lower 90's here today. Humidity wasn't bad, probably because we had thunderstorms all night. That might be where your humidity came from today...sorry! lol

So, I have to suggest a movie NOT to see. :upsidedow We watched "Everybody's Fine" last night and honestly, I can't remember the last time I cried so much during a movie. If you ever need a reality check to help you put your family at the top of your priority list, then watch this movie, but have a box of kleenex close by. I think DH was even crying because DS came into the room and said "wow everybody's crying in here, I'm glad I'm not watching this movie!" LOL

Nikki - glad to hear you were able to make it in and get your passports before the fees go up tomorrow. Which is crazy IMHO. I mean we process passports in my office so I work with them every day and today we did about 9 all together, which isn't too bad considering the price hike. Now you can vacation with no worries about being able to get back home. But I'm wondering why the fee was $431.10. From the fees we use it would have only been $370. $75 for you and DH, $60 for the kids and a $25 processing fee for each which equals $370. So did you have to have your photos taken there too? I guess that could bump it up because we don't do the pictures where I work. Folks have to go else where for those. Just wondering.

It is quite on here today. I hope everyone had a good day. It was cooler today. Not as hot and not as humid. We had a few showers but no thunderstorms.

Glad you were able to get the passports. They do provide such a sense of security.

Well I debated contacting DVC concerning our trip but felt that they would want to know about our issues with BLT. Got a very quick response and am getting a call from DVC tomorrow. For those staying after the cruise a couple suggestions. Make sure you check the hot tub before you get in. If the jets are on turn them off and check for the sludge of dead bugs before you get in. There is standing water from the beach then there is marsh then the lake. It was a bug party. Have your key ready when you come back at night so that you can open the doors quickly to avoid the bugs at the entrances. If you are taking your kids check the community room before you drop of your kids as it was filthy. I am hoping that they resolve some of the issues before you all get there. My big issue that I tried to relate to DVC is that there is just not the magic that is at the other DVC resorts and they need to find a way to change that. The building is nice and new but it needs some tweaks to get it in my opinion up to par. I did enjoy our view from our room and the walk to catch the monorail or to mk was very nice.

Going to bed have a great week!

Scott

Good Tuesday Morning! :goodvibes

Hope everyone is doing well since it is so quite on here. I have been having problems getting the computer at night around here. My oldest DD thinks she needs to be on the laptop and the youngest DD is on the other computer so I'm SOL. :rotfl:

Scott - I'm glad to hear DVC will be calling about the problems you had at BLT. The bugs sound disguisting. We deal with bugs around here all the time, in fact this weekend I think I was a buffet for the mosquitos. I have so many bites on me I'm constantly scratching.

i am off to the cottage next week :beach:; so I will drop you a line when we get back for a get together if you and Laura have time.

THE POOL GUYS ARE HERE!!!!

OK so I am done with my excitement...but I can not wait to swim in my pool!!!

Chris we did have to have the photos taken there - $15 each for those. They suggested other places but the fee was the same no matter where we went. I should have done them myself - but was afraid:confused3. The $1.10 was the fee to buy the money order from the post office to send the $270....luckily we still have plenty of time before the cruise, my friend was going to Canada for a conference and was late getting hers - had to pay an additional $40 to have it rushed.

So with the pool, passports and cruise - which I just finally paid off - we are officially done spending money for a while:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:!!!

I almost believed myself - yeah right - next we have school shopping!!!

OK enough crazy for the day - have a great day all.

May sound that our trip was not a good one but if you can't have fun at WDW then that is crazy. Some good stuff about BLT cool Bochi ball (sp) courts and the view from the lounge is awesome at night. The 4th fireworks were called mirror fireworks so they were also shooting fireworks from the lake islands. It was impressive and gave me goosebumps. I did want to knock out this one family that had obviously been drinking and were loud during show. Kids loved the water slide but said it still does not compare to BC pool. We went back to DTD for the first time in a while and other than the smoking (scary to see all the young adults and kids smoking) (nothing against smokers but starting to be a trend again with teenagers):confused3 it was a relaxing night. Foultons crab house is a little over priced but food was good. I would highly suggest La Nouba. We sat in section 206 and I would suggest not sitting in the front set of seats as there is so much going on it would benefit you to sit up a little higher. This is not like going to a major indoor stadium I can't imaging one bad seat.

The wait times were not that bad but we did our normal fast-pass for the big rides and took advantage of early openings and walked on many of the big rides at each park then fast passed for later to ride again. There were the normal Brazillian groups and while big they are for the most part polite and on a strict schedule. We were down June 29- July 8th and there was a huge difference in park attendance from about the 3rd on. Packed would be the word I would use lol. I was talking to my buddy that was also down for the week and we came up with a great idea. Why not have an early opening or late closing just for DVC members! Oh I forgot they already have our money.:rotfl2: I think that would be a great idea. Disney is doing so much to get people there like free food and nights why not do something for us once in a while.

Oh gotta run for a bit getting car serviced and they need to talk to me OH BOY that is never good lol

Scott

I am sitting here getting my car serviced. They talked to me over two hours ago. It was not a good thing. I hope everyone is doing well today.

Terrie, I hope you are able to get BLT. How long will you stay after the cruise?

We will probably stay Thursday through Saturday night and go home on Sunday. Oh I am so excited I can hardly stand it! :yay:

Just booked MNSHP for 9/18. Anyone going to the Food and Wine Festival in October? I think booking for events starts 7/20. I know some sell out real fast. Terrie how exciting for you- hope you get BLT.
