09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #1

Good Morning all!! We ahve a crazy weekend ahead. Today our town celebrates the holiday weekend with a Garden festival - my daugther's school has a food booth so I will be serving Ice cream and walking tacos all day!! Tomorrow we are traveling to our friends home to have a picnic. Then Monday my hometown has a parade adn wreath laying ceremony to honor our fallen soldiers. This has been a family tradition since I was a kid - my grandfather was a veteran and played a huge role in this event until his death. So we will go there for the morning and then back home to cook for the fam!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Scott I also echo your sentiments! And all of our soldiers, those gone and those still fighting will be in our prayers!!!

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start. I plan to go to sewing class today to get some help with the FE that I will be sewing. The pirate one I made was a no sew. I am hoping to play tetherball with DH again later when the sun goes down. Too hot to play during the day. I decided to make a new rule where we had to punch the ball to the opponent's side to play. Last night I strained my wrist playing at some point, and never felt it until afterwards. Not surprising, because I also didn't feel my knuckles bleeding Wally saw my knuckles, the blood on the ball and was like Needless to say, blood means game over I'm wondering if I should take this as a sign from the universe telling me I am not meant to work out in any capacity I mean seriously, who works out and winds up bleeding Today's tetherball workout: Bandages for knuckles, check, support for wrists, check. Note to self, if I decide to take up boxing, I am half way towards having appropriate equipment.

Wow that is pretty neat that your town does that. What a nice way to celebrate and to honor those who fought and died for us.

I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and takes the time to reflect on the reason for the 3 day weekend. Remember those that served or are currently serving. Take a moment to reflect on the good in our country and thank those that help protect those freedoms.

GOOD MORNING, ANOTHER SUNNY DAY BUT NOT AS HOT. GREAT FOR GARDENING I WONT WANT TO PASS OUT JUST THOUGHT ID MENTION WE HAVE SOLAR PANELS ON ROOF OF HOUSE. THE WATER GETS PUMPED UP ONTO ROOF AND BACK DOWN INTO POOL. SOLAR BLAKETS ONLY HEAT THE TOP FEW INCHES OF WATER. 3 DAYS AGO OUR POOL WAS AROUND 70 THEN IN 2 DAYS OF SUN IT WENT UP TO 90. COOLS DOWN AT NIGHT A BIT THATS WHAT THE SOLAR BLANKET HELPS IN KEEPING HEAT IN. SOLAR HEAT IS FREE ONCE YOU BUY THE SYSTEM.

Wow! That heated up fast. Yesterday our pool was at 88. Pretty nice. The solar panels that we have lay on the pool deck. DH is trying to decide how to get them off the deck and out of the way.

Got my Palo Brunch reservation booked and our CC Parasailing & Jet Ski reservations booked! Also filled out all of our online check in forms. What a way to start the day!

Now I have to go to the grocery store and then to Home Depot and then maybe we'll go to the water park today!!!

Got my palo brunch reservation booked and our cc parasailing & jet ski reservations booked! Also filled out all of our online check in forms. What a way to start the day!

i knew i forgot to do something book palo for brunch on sea day. I see you booked jet skiing, my son and i had fun doing that. Lets hope its not windy or all the sea excursions will get cancelled.

Did you try to go online and book palo brunch? (You need your reservation number and you can book all your excursions online) We booked the jet skiing and parasailing for the first day a CC....that way if the weather doesn't cooperate that day, we'll have another chance (if they can accommodate us) on the second day.

I'm glad you had such an enjoyable weekend. We've had a great weekend so far. We went to the water park today. DD likes to go there but she doesn't like to do anything but sit in a beach chair at the edge of the wave pool. DS will do almost everything there. So he took his cousin and I hung out with DD. We still had a great day together just hanging out by the wave pool and walking around the water park.

Tomorrow we may go back to the water park depending on the weather. It's supposed to rain. If it rains, then we'll just stay inside and play some games I guess. I LOVE 3 day weekends!!!!!!

I love a 3-day weekend too. I'm glad you are having a great weekend too. We had a mini-waterpark in our back yard. Our friends brought their blowup water slide and we had a little inflatable pool. The children enjoyed it. The big boys played on the big slide and the girls played in the little pool. DS played in both. He had so much fun. He plays hard. He is worn out. He took an almost three hour nap today and so did his parents and I am still sleepy.

I've been away from the thread for a while for a great reason! My daughter had a baby! We now have a new little princess to introduce to Mickey! Yeah! Arianna was so excited to join our little family that she arrived 2 months early! Her sister did the exact same thing. As it turns out, my daughter is a microwave mom. She doesn't need the typical 9 months apparently. She also likes to stress all of us out with these dramatic deliveries.
But all seems well at the moment and we're just visiting Arianna in NICU until she is ready to come home.
Maybe next year she can join us on the Member cruise!!
